Thanks so much for the explanation. I now fully understand the principle of how to use it. Have asked someone to buy and ship the smart charger to me, hope to get it by Wednesday. Will update later
BTW, my TV utilizes 129W what value of battery do you recommend?

1. Obviously, the other wire is just the plug . . to plug into your wall outlet or how do u intend to power the charger if u dont plug it in huh huh huh The remaining black and red wires are terminal clips to be connected to the battery you wish to charge

2. Open the ups, remove the small internal battery . . u will see the wires,. red and black as usual . . extend them to where you can
conveniently connect them to the external bigger battery . . +ve to +ve and -ve to -ve

3. the smart charger should only be connected when u intend charging . . , it's very portable, and can be moved
Correct me if I'm wrong but the smart charger charges the additional battery but while in use you can disconnect the smart charger and use the empty ups to charge the battery. Thus at no point are the two power plugs connected to electricity at the same time?
Will have to order that smart charger from Lagos, couldnt find it anywhere in the east

(1).The power cable must be plugged to the main power source at all times, don't cut it off
(2). Yes
Forgive me but I don't understand. The smart charger has 4 wires attached to it. The two wires with clips are attached to the 12v battery. To what do you attach the other two wires.
2. I have a working 650v ups. Are you saying that I connect wires from the terminals of the internal battery in the ups to the 12v battery, then to the smart charger?

ceejay80s:
Yes it will power lcd and led TVs, Its easy, all u need is a small ups ( the one that uses only one battery), a battery charger and a 12v valve regulated or deep cycle battery and a red and black wire which u will use to extend the negative and positive cable of the ups
Unscrew ur ups and extend the black and red wire that go to the battery to be longer(please use red and black colour wire to avoid confusion), connect the extended red wire to ur battery positive(red) and the black to ur battery (negative),
Also connect the charger's positive clip to ur battery positive and charger's negative clip to ur battery negative, now, plug in ur charger power cable in to electricity power source and plug in ur lcd to ur ups, turn on ur ups and its ready!!!
What about the power cable for the UPS? Do you cut it off? Also, is it possible to charge the battery that was initially in the ups while maintaining this setup?

FIREFOX OS

First off, it's an app that behaves like a launcher and a launcher that behaves like an app ( you would understand when you try it out). Takes a while to launch and crashed a few times before launching. There's a significant lag that gets better with repeated use. There's also a bit of blurriness around icons, more prominent when moving around. Getting back to the home screen from the notification center or from the settings or from within an app is a headache. The layout of the settings screen reminds me of an opsson's.
Yet to check out the market store so can't give a verdict

Mozilla launched Firefox OS 2.5 Developer Preview earlier today, and is now offering the operating system as an app on Android. The experimental app replaces several elements of the Android homescreen with Firefox's web-based offering, and even comes with a set of system apps for phone calls, messages, emails, and even an app store. Think of it as a launcher with a set of bundled apps.

Here's the breakdown of what's new in Firefox OS 2.5:

Add-ons: Just like the add-ons we've come to love in desktop browsers, Firefox OS add-ons can extend just one app, several, or all of them, including the system app itself.
Private Browsing with Tracking Protection: A new Firefox privacy feature, Tracking Protection allows users to control how their browsing activity is tracked across many sites.
Pin the Web: Pin the Web removes the artificial distinction between web apps and web sites and lets you pin any web site or web page to your home screen for later usage.
Mozilla mentions that it employed workarounds to provide a consistent user experience to those on Android, and as such you'll find that the Android navigation buttons are overlaid atop the UI. However, you can't use the back button for navigation, as Firefox OS employs a single home button.

Given the nature of the app, it is available as a directly downloadable APK from the link below. Should you like what you see, you can also flash the OS on your handset.

Nobody forced you be a Nurse or a Doctor. Afterall, Government can pay N15,000 and deliver good medical care to everyone. Useless Government hospitals with crowded wards. Why should Government pay them big money?

The above is the thought of most of the Nigerians who will read this.
( I do so love playing Devils advocate).
Garbage in, garbage out.
When will Nigerians so fooling themselves.
In the other thread, most were insulting medical workers for not accepting N15,000. I wonder who they will insult now?

I believe Nigerians should start the behavior of suing Medical workers. They should sue anyone that doesn't provide the medical services he/she renders to the society. Enough is enough. Afterall, the Government provides constant electricity to all the hospitals, supplies pipe borne water, up to date equipments and employs adequate personnels to all Government hospitals plus a working health care plan for every Nigerian. All medical workers are happy and well catered for. So why would this rubbish be happening or allowed to happen. We should start suing.

You just corroborated my point. You went for medicine because of money, right?

Would you have applied to study medicine, if MBBS graduates earn 40k and there is no title (Doctor) attached?

Why do you want the society to respect "Money-Chasers" who call themselves life-savers?
Yes, I went into medicine to make an impact on people's lives however I choose to be a doctor, not samaritan. Your point was in a civilized society doctors shouldn't chase money. In civilized society doctors are catered to and their needs are taken care off because no other profession determines if you live or die at a moments notice.

"Money-Chasers"? If the society respects and admires politicians who travel out for treatment when they do much as cough and who's inaction of not paying salaries lead to death of pensioners and civil Servants. A governor recently built a hospital in his state but was involved in an accident and was rushed abroad, no one talked about the oxymoron, no one talked about the money spent. People sent good will messages. Medical workers complain about reduction of money and more than 12 pages of insult.

Garbage in, garbage out.
As you talked about a civilized society, you might recognize the person in the picture below. How many politicians can do what he is doing

NYSC › Re: Ebonyi State Slashes Monthly Allowance Of Corper Doctors From N130k To N15k by Leopantro:
Onyiridike:
It is simple. ALL MBBS graduates studied medicine for MONEY and TITLE (DR.).

It baffles me tremendously that they insult and look down on teachers who trained them to become doctors.

There is nothing stressful about medicine because I studied some courses with them.

Apart from surgery, I can do virtually everything that a doctor does. I can't remember going for treatment in any hospital.

Do you know that Medical doctors believe that they are next to God. What arrogance! They also look down on Nurses, laboratorists, Physiologists, Anatomists and Biochemists who trained them in the medical school.

In developed countries where PREVENTION is a priority over CURE, Research scientists earn more respect than Doctors.

Industrial Pharmacists and Biochemists who design drugs, produce drugs and ascertain its toxicity and dosage are the life savers. The reason is that, it is actually drugs that cure diseases and not doctors.

It seems, I should go into lecturing and teach some of these MBBS guys some respect.
I recently came back from Ghana were I was privileged to interact with some medical doctors. Immediately medical students finish from med school, they are drafted to rural hospitals and are paid by the government. You are also entitled to a loan for the duration of your stay. A house is provided for you, rent free. Most times the hospital you are sent to are so happy they can provide a driver and other stipends. When you pass the professional exam, the rural hospital is converted into a teaching hospital, students are sent to the hospital for you to teach, you are given a car loan ( brand new car 2013 or 2013) and after two years the government will sponsor you to specialize in any hospital in the world you want, as long as you come back to contribute to the country.

Between Nigeria and Ghana, which is much developed?
For you to say that there is nothing stressful in medicine, please kindly do what the below doctor did

Imagine traveling through Ebonyi state and you have an accident or as a pregnant woman you feel the baby coming. You are rushed to a hospital where an NYSC doctor or nurse works. Because of the poor salary he /she only works Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm after which he looks for other jobs to do to cater to his needs. You get to the hospital and no doctor or nurse to treat you. Do you
A. Blame the Nigerian doctor or nurse, who should be giving free services to his country, after all he is been paid for it?
B. Blame the politicians who collect the money that should be paid to the medical personnels and travel abroad to treat his family?

When I read some responses here on nairaland to some issues I shake my head some more. I finally resigned from the public health sector 2 weeks ago. I got to work and met over 50 patients behaving like Nigerians and wasI alone was to see them. When I finally finished at about 5 PM I went home wrote my resignation letter and dropped it off the next morning. In some ways I feel bad because I know we are very short staffed and there is no obvious replacement for me. I even had to turn away new patients last week because if I start seeing them I don't know what will happen to them after I leave as my collegues are already overworked and I know they will end up with things like 6,7 months appointments. Unfortunately my area of specialization is rare so replacements are few and far between. Some people will curse me out but I am tiredof working under terrible conditions and that when I do make an inevitable mistake nobody will say sorry rather my whole tribe will be cursed for generations.
I envy you. Finished school with so much enthusiasm but in the next couple of years, I will leave and not regret it. The situation is progressively getting worse
Politics › MASSOB Is A Tool Of PDP And A Distraction - Okorocha by Leopantro(op): 11:25am On Nov 07, 2015
The Founder and Sole Proprietor of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, has been described as in sincere for aiding and abetting the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government in the continued marginalisation of the Igbo, and not the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha. . Reacting to a media report, the Chief Press Secretary to the Imo State Governor, Mr. Sam Onwuemedo, said, “Although Chief Uwazuruike had made his claim and his allegation, the indisputable fact remains that the real Igbo saboteur is Chief Uwazuruike himself and not Governor Okorocha, because all over the world, the real enemies of the people are those who fail or refuse to tell them the truth”. “Obviously, what must have prompted Chief Uwazuruike’s media attack on Governor Okorocha this time was the governor’s condemnation of the violent protest in the name of Biafra some weeks ago, and his remark that Igbo people would not use MASSOB as a platform to ask for what is due to them in an entity called Nigeria. But the truth must be told.” “Chief Uwazuruike had used his MASSOB to adopt and support the Peoples Democratic Party and former President Goodluck Jonathan when they held sway. He should mention one project the PDP-led Federal Government or former President Jonathan did in any part of Igbo land.” “The MASSOB leader was part of the hate campaign against the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari, while Governor Okorocha was telling his Igbo kinsmen to read accurately the body language of the rest of Nigerians. Today, it is left for Ndigbo to tell themselves the truth about who was the real saboteur, Uwazuruike or Okorocha?” “It is also left for Chief Uwazuruike to tell his audience why MASSOB went to bed throughout the period Jonathan was the President, only for MASSOB to wake up from their deep slumber now that Buhari is the President.” He said that the Igbo cannot be asking for sovereignty in a country that they were one of the major stakeholders, adding that if MASSOB had failed to achieve sovereignty under former President Goodluck Jonathan that they supported, would they achieve it under President Buhari they never supported? Who would allow them to achieve that? he asked. He said, “Truly speaking, the issue of MASSOB is a distraction. And Igbo leaders and the governors in the South-East geo-political zone won’t be part of that unnecessary distraction. The leaders and governors in the zone have resolved to work with Buhari to attract development to the area. And the projects have begun to come with the elevation of the Imo Airport to Cargo International Airport. Work is already in progress in the place.” “Governor Okorocha is an Igbo man and would continue to support and promote genuine cause of the Igbo within the corporate Nigeria and in the overall interest of the Ndigbo both at home and in the Diaspora.”

They don't hate people from other parts of the country as much as they hate you. You recently won a court case but did you wonder why the whole state did not celebrate with you? I recall your first year in Office, you couldn't move around the capital with receiving a standing ovation. Now you hide in tinted glassed cars on barely motorable roads.

Asked why all public taps in the state have dried up, he noted that he preferred sinking water boreholes for communities instead of procuring chemicals, maintaining machines and other facilities.
You want to avoid building pipe borne water treatment plants to supply drinking water to the citizens of your state to save money but prefer building fountains?
Truly, your citizens deserve who they voted for
Business › Re: My Experience With UBA Bank. (must Read!!!!!!!) by Leopantro: 12:49pm On Nov 02, 2015
desperatem:
I will try to make this story short. I started banking with UBA early last year. Apart from outrageous tranSfer charges, postage stamp charges and very slow service I think its a good bank. I have never had issues of unauthorized withdrawal in my account until August 2015. An unauthorized ATM transfer was carried out in my account on August 8 2015 twice and UBA did not send me any alert for the 2 transactions. The first transaction was NGN 180,000 and the second was NGN 30,000. I got to know about the unauthorized transaction about 1 month few weeks later when I traveled out of Nija. A customer deposited some money in my account, so when I received the alert (My MTN number was Roamed for alert purpose) I knew instantly that about NGN 200,000 plus to NGN 300,00 was missing in my account. I can't wait to get back home to confirm it. Because of this, I came back to Nigeria Ealier than planned (My arrival date was scheduled for 15th November 2015).

When I got back to Nigeria, I visted my branch and I requested for my account statement, I got back home and was going through the account statement that was when I came across the transactions, I reported immediately to my Branch and I was asked to write a letter which I did. My account officer said maybe someone I know used my ATM card to do the ATM transfer but I told her its not someone I know and my ATM was not used for the transaction because I live alone, none of my friends or GF visited me during that period because I was busy planning my traveling and my ATM card is always in my wallet and my wallet is always on me. In the letter I wrote, I requested for the footage of whoever did the transaction and the account information of the beneficiary.

A couple of weeks later, I go a call that they have concluded the investigation. They were able to get the beneficiary account information but they said no footage was sent along. It was a First bank account so they couldn't view the the account holder's information except the name and account number that was sent from First Bank head office. Since UBA got that information, they stopped working on getting to the bottom of the matter. They said they can't work in hand with First Bank to apprehend the suspect. They said they are waiting for the day the suspect will come and do any transaction on his account even if it's 2050.

I got tired of waiting and I visited a friend who is working in First Bank last week, He checked the suspect's acount details for me because I collected the account number from UBA customer care. When my friend checked, he showed me his picture, I swear I have never seen the guy in my life. He went through his transactions as at October, we discovered that the guy withdraw all the money immediately he finished the fraud and he has less than NGN 1,500 in his account. After that revelation, I visited my UBA branch and I narrated everything to then, now they take me serious a bit but they later said "still there is nothing we can do" after then, I withdraw all my money from the account and I deposited it to my other bank account with another bank. I am going there today to withdraw the rest of my money. UBA is not a customer's bank. Its very useless bank and if you keep your life savings with them you might end up having a HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. I just shared my experience with UBA with my fellow nairalanders so you can all be wary of UBA. If you have an account with them, you better take all your money from there to avoid story that touches.

Your comments/contributions and better and quicker way to go about this is highly welcomed. Thanks for reading. I hope you learn a thing or two? If anyone experienced ATM fraud before please share your experience with us.
