This is untrue. Any man, woman or child of every colour or ethinicty is always asked for their background when they say they are Canadian. It is no secret that in the large Canadian cities finding a "Canadian" - one who isn't aware of their heritage - is extremely rare. SO I dont know what you are on about my friend. |
My cousin has been bothering everybody, asking us to help him come up with a nice short form for his name: Imuetinyanosa. I already told him tinyan and nosa but he insists that those ones are 'boring' and 'too usual'. Please help me OOOO |

Not only are your ideas well scripted, you propose a wide spectrum of incredible solutions and answers to the numerous qualms which befall our fair city Lagos and our 'fatherland' Nigeria. You ideas are more than a breathe of fresh air, they can be described as a whisper from God on how to finally fix our broken city. Most of your proposals, littered through you beautiful and articulate writings I most add, I share myself. It is as though my dreams for a better Nigeria have been personified with the result being your above post. Please Midas, do not give up! Let your voice be heard. Scream these proposals to the powers-that-be, make sure yourvoice is audible, why, if only one of the numerous plans you have stated were put into place, a visible differecnce would be clear within 24 hours of its implications. Don't stop here, please, continue to update us with more of your ideas, more visual representations, more proposals. Perhaps, you are the leader God intends for Nigeria to have! And by the way, I have a suggestuon. Looking at your proposed map of the (dear I say) furture Lagos metro line, I can see just one tiny little update, not vital, but which would aid the project. Take a look at where the Orange line intersects the Blue line between the stations at MMA-Local, Ipaja, Adeniyi-Jones and Agege. Perhaps, a station could be located at this point in order to ease movement and smoothen out transition between these two lines. I am not an expert on Lagos cartography but where that point is located, the station should bear the same name. Keep up the good work please and take care. OUR FUTURE LEADER! P.s I along with every single forumer on this site are looking forward to any moer of your future posts. |
What is the best Nigerian TV channel? In my opinion, its is Nigezie. their production and their whole look is world class. |
HiTV’s Nigeria Reality Show Starts October 1 From all indications, the commemoration of Nigeria’s 48th independence anniversary would be very grand as HiTV, Nigeria’s indigenous pay TV service provider has announced October 1, as the new date for the commencement of the broadcast of its much awaited TV reality show tagged ‘Nigeria’ The show which was initially billed to commence on July 5th 2008 was suspended as a result of a court injunction at the request of Endemol, copyright owners of the Big Brother (BB) reality show which is aired on Multichoice DSTV. The injunction was later struck out by Justice A.M Liman of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos. It would be recalled that Endemol had approached the court seeking an order restraining HiTV from airing the show because the concept, it claimed, was an infringement on its intellectual property right of Big Brother. As a responsible corporate citizen that operates under the principle of the rule of law, HiTV had to put the show on hold pending the resolution of the court case. It is pertinent to note that the concept of NIGERIA is original and bears no similarity of any sort to the BIG Brother concept as it was motivated first and foremost, by the need for national integration, peaceful co-existence and mutual respect among the different ethnic groups that make up Nigeria. It would be recalled that eighteen Nigerians had earlier been selected out of the thousands that applied online to participate in the show. The screening process which was conducted across the six geo-political zones of the country produced the culturally intelligent and smart individuals who would live as Neighbours during the show. The Neighbours are expected to engage in weekly tasks that ignite their intellectual capabilities, knowledge of on-going social issues, cultural/traditional influences and international relations amongst others. The winner of these weekly tasks becomes the ‘’President’’ for the week. These Neighbours would be required to live together in a house called NIGERIA for the eight week duration of the show, though deportations would take place from time to time, until a winner to be called ‘the NIGERIAN’ emerges. According to a statement released by the Marketing Department, “our essence of expending huge resources towards the show is borne out of the need to enhance and propagate the positive image of Nigeria as a whole, its constituent parts and the togetherness which its various peoples share. More importantly, the show will present world-class television entertainment to Nigerians in the comfort of their homes”. Finally, the Management of HiTV would like to commend our teeming subscribers, shortlisted participants and various corporate bodies that signified interest in supporting the project for their patience and understanding. I am of the opinion that there is no way that a nation called Nigeria can achieve greatness. That a nation with this title attached to ever thing that it strives for can ever be considered an exemplary nation. This name Nigeria, in my opinion, is just a relic from the country's colonial past. It does show the unity of all the cultures which represent this great nation. it has been soiled and destroyed by many years of corruption, crude and shanty cities, mismanagement of assets, poverty, violence, religious unrest, crime, internet scams and over all wrong doing. This name Nigeria is now so bad that it is synonymous with anything wrong which can happen to a country ranging from poor human rights records, to high corruption rates, to slaughter of innocent people all the way en masses shanty towns as excuses for cities. :bash::bash::bash: In my opinion, the root of all Nigeria's problems is the name NIGERIA and everything associated with it from it's disgustingly bland tricolor (or should i say bicolor)flag to it's currency the Naira, the official currency for money laundering and bribery and corruption. I stand here now today to a proposal for a new identity for my country. A new entity which is fully able to capture it's wide and varied history. one which fully represents all the people and cultures of the nation and one which can be uttered with nothing but pride. This new identity should be Atlantica and a new flag and accessories would follow the new name. A country's name is more than just it's title, a country's name should represent the greatness of that country and in my opinion changing Nigeria's name is the first step to changing the country! Well think about it. How long do you think we would be able to invite investors over to Nigeria with accusations of bribery, violence, religious and political unrest hanging over our heads. Just the name of that country evokes all these subjects. Take a survey of 5 randomers and ask them what the name Nigeria implies and jot down the result, trust me it would startle you. Of course, name change alone would do squat, however, it should be the first step. It should be followed by a total re branding so to speak, with every thing from the flag or the country to it's telephone ch\ode changed; almost like the emergence of a totally new country. more importantly, the Nigerian constitution must be changed too, the police force, education system, health care, every single thing associated with Nigeria would changed. Now when all these aspects of modern day Nigeria are changed for the better, it would be like a newly developed country just sprung up in Africa. A new frontier, fresh for investors, tourists etc. |

Honestly I would tell you to go to a hostel in this tourist resort named Ajegunle, Lagos, the teachers are extremely friendly, you never have to worry about the Power going of and mosquitoes over there are a thing of the past. The locals are very hospitable and do take you valuables with you they look down on people who cant present themselves. I assure you nothing but a blast!! Great Nigerian such as Daddy Shoki have come from this area and they are full of nothing but phrases for it. I would say it has the best sewage facilities in Nigeria (Lagos) so you would even see a fly!! Come witness it for yourself and I will leave enclosed a picture of Ajeunle, I no you will love it!! https://static.flickr.com/45/149117565_0f725531d9_m.jpg Is that what you want to see or hear?? |

Parties may boycott presidential election - Atiku in dilemma By Our Reporters - 17.04.2007 [ QUOTE]AS the opposition political parties meet today in Abuja, there are strong indications that they may boycott Saturday’s presidential poll. This is sequel to the clearance granted Vice President Atiku Abubakar to contest, a development said to have disrupted the consensus plan by the opposition parties. Nigerian Tribune findings from the opposition camps showed that the issue of boycott was to take the centre stage today instead of the earlier decision to pick a consensus candidate at today’s meeting. The opposition alliance had at its last meeting agreed to back one candidate with many already speculating that General Muhammadu Buhari of the ANPP was the favoured choice. It was, however, learnt that the arrangement changed following last Saturday’s elections with many opposition parties now advocating boycott as a way of protesting the alleged rigging of the governorship and Houses of Assembly polls. The opposition leaders were said to be afraid that participating in the presidential poll would give a stamp of approval to the perceived imperfection and alleged rigging of the polls. This and other issues are said to be on the table for discussion today in Abuja as the opposition chieftains resume talks over a proposed grand alliance against the PDP. While the opposition leaders are contemplating a boycott, Vice President Abubakar was also reportedly in a dilemma over whether to go ahead with the contest or to also boycott it. Abubakar’s camp was said to be divided with one group supporting participation while another is advocating boycott. Those urging Atiku to participate were said to have stated that judiciary was capable of righting whatever wrongs and rigging that might be perpetrated in Saturday’s polls. Others were, however, said to have kicked against participation as it was felt that the PDP would rig the election. As at the time of going to the press, the opposition and Atiku’s camp were said to be still undecided on whether to participate or boycott the polls.

|
