“If you have knowledge of geography you’ll know that the resource they are talking about is not coming from them{Niger delta}. It is coming from far North of Africa, it’s a flowing liquid.

“If Northern Nigeria decides to be greedy, they can terminate the resource going to them, by way of cutting it and the flow will stop. So, all the resources that will be flowing to the south by way of crude would be diverted in a well in the North and from there it can be tapped and exported.

Nigeria targets to host 2018 World Cup: Nigerian President
Nigeria will support South Africa's 2010 World Cup bid and go all out for the 2018 edition itself, Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo said Monday in Abuja.

Receiving Jacques Rogge, president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), in the capital Abuja, Obasanjo said that Nigeria would support South Africa in its bid to host the 2010 edition of the World Cup.

He said that Nigeria would also not go for the 2014 edition butwould strive toward the 2018 edition. "So long as I live, I will strive to ensure that Nigeria asks for 2018."

The president thanked Rogge for his support for Nigeria and called for assistance from the IOC in the maintenance of the new Abuja stadium "to keep it in good shape at all times."

He said that the Nigerian federal government would build new hostels and an institute of sports in Abuja to boost sports development in the country.

Responding, Rogge commended Nigeria's hosting of the 8th All Africa Games, saying the facilities put in place were of high standard while the opening ceremonies were "simply fantastic."

He pledged the continued support of the IOC to the country to help it develop more in the sporting arena.

Earlier, President of the Nigeria Olympic committee Alhaji Abu Gumel had commended the IOC for its support for Nigeria's hosting of the All Africa Games.

The IOC had assisted COJA with 200,000 US dollars for the preparations and also dished out another 79,000 dollars to Team Nigeria to aid its preparation.
We have a lot of work to do if this is the case.

WITHDRAW FROM 2014 BID PROCESS
The Commonwealth Games Federation wishes to express its profound regret at the decision by Canadian city Halifax to withdraw from the bidding process for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Mike Hooper, Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Games Federation, was informed of the news late Thursday (March cool by Dr Andrew Pipe, President of Commonwealth Games Canada. In confirming the withdrawal, Dr Pipe expressed his extreme disappointment and astonishment at the decision taken by the Province of Nova Scotia and the City of Halifax to no longer provide funding for the bid.
Mike Fennell, President of the Commonwealth Games Federation, said: “It is a great disappointment that this has happened, especially for Canadian athletes and the people of Halifax who have lost the opportunity of staging one of the most prestigious events on the international sporting calendar. We are aware of the considerable amount of work and effort over many months, firstly by Commonwealth Games Canada with the internal Canadian bid process and subsequently by the Halifax Bid Committee and we thank them for their interest and commitment to the Games.”
“After superb Games in Manchester in 2002 and Melbourne in 2006 and looking ahead to Delhi in 2010 the Commonwealth Games is firmly recognised as a major world event, delivering a substantial legacy to the cities which host the event. The possibility of this happening in 2014 is now sadly lost to Halifax – and Canada.
“I sincerely hope this does not damage Canada's credibility in staging sport’s events in the long term. They have hosted successful Commonwealth Games before and I am sure they will again at some point in the future,” added Mr Fennell.
Chief Executive Mike Hooper said: “This was totally unexpected, but we will now go forward with two excellent bids from Abuja, Nigeria, and Glasgow, Scotland. From what we know, both cities have excellent credentials and we are anticipating a close contest.”
In response to media enquiries Mr Hooper also confirmed that there was no possibility of another Canadian city picking up the baton for 2014 from Halifax. “Despite the enormous interest in Canada to stage the 2014 Games, this late withdrawal by Halifax means there is no possibility of a substitute.”
The formal bid documents have to be presented to the Commonwealth Games Federation in London on May 9. The final vote between Abuja and Glasgow will be taken by the CGF’s 71 member nations at their General Assembly in Sri Lanka on November 9.

Why are the Hausa's the cause for most of Nigeria's numerous problems. Don't believe me lets go through it:

Cause of the Biafran War - Hausa's
Military reign and sufferings endured - Hausa
Corruption lead government - Hausa [Zamfara State tied with Edo State are most corrupt states.]
Cause for Miss world disgrace - Hausa
ABACHA'S REGIME!!!! - Hausa
Huge religious riots and tribal riots in Lagos - [Hausa and Yorubas]
Failure of old Proposal for Lagos Subway - Hausa (Btw,, the proposal has been revived no thanks to an hausa man!!)

Please there are so much more I just don't have the time to mention. Don't get me wrong Hausa men such as the Minister of the F.C.T whose name currently escapes my memory are Patriotic heros!! I really think it should be divided from Nigeria, we are not dependent on them in any way but this would lead to the division of the great city of Abuja.

Please leave any other comments of the major problems of Nigeria cause by the greatly Hausa Population. I am so tribalist but i really don't give a rat's bottom now!!

The Chairman of the Lagos Megacity Development Authority (LMDA), Prof. Akin Mabogunje, has said that the metroline rail system proposed for Lagos by the regime of Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the first civilian governor in Lagos State would be revived and expanded by the body.
Addressing a stakeholders meeting on the megacity, Professor Mabogunje said that “in response to protests of foreign investors that the current state of security, sanitation and transportation, within the Lagos Megacity Region is a serious disincentive, President Olusegun Obasanjo, after exhaustive consultation with Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu, resolved to transform the Lagos megacity into a world-class city by 2015.”
The former university don appealed to stakeholders, made up of former leaders from Lagos State and four adjoining local governments in Ogun State – namely, Ado-Odo/Ota, Ifo, Obafemi Owode and Sagamu, that the support of the people was paramount in achieving the objectives of the LMDA.
The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu I, the chief convener of the meeting pledged the cooperation of the people of the state, adding, “Those who want to turn Lagos to a city of filth should turn a new leaf since no offender would be spared in the effort to give the Lagos megacity a new lease of life.”
The Oba, however, urged the technocrats behind the LMDA to ensure that they tapped into the abundant talent and resources among Lagosians, rather than relying on outsiders in executing the laudable programmes.
Alhaji Jakande, in his contribution, pleaded with Oba Akiolu to make the gathering a regular affair so as to put the issue of developing Lagos continuously on the front burner.
He pleaded with the Federal Government to accord Lagos a special status and special funding and that the next leader should not abandon the MDA to Lagos alone.
Chief Folarin Coker in his own remark, pleaded with the brains behind the LMDA to make the issue of redeveloping markets a priority. He also called for a full involvement of indigenes in all the stages of the project to redevelop Lagos, adding “You cannot shave somebody’s head behind him.”
The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Bolaji Abosede, who represented the Governor on the occasion had earlier, assured the gathering that the state government had commenced the implementation of its share of the Megacity Development Region with the introduction of the Bus Rapid Transportation (Lagbus), on-going Lekki-Epe Expressway expansion, Lekki Free Trade Zone, Central Business District revitalization and slum upgrading.
The first governor of the state, General Mobolaji Johnson (rtd.) stressed the need for continuity, which he claimed had been the bane of laudable programmes in the past, adding “if successive administrations had been building on achievements of their predecessors, Lagos will not be in its very poor situation.”
Dignitaries who also graced the occasion included, Alhaji Femi Okunnu, Alhaji H. A. Fasinro, Chief Molade Okoya Thomas, the Obas of Ikorodu and Badagry as well as chieftains of industry like, Chief Bode Emmanuel and Chief Hamzat Adebowale.
