Malaria and Covid-19 share some symptoms. This spokesperson is just saying rubbish. All he needs to prove his point is /mr. Rawlings medical record. He doesn't have and hasn't seen it but he still made a positive claim without evidence.

Did you read the part where he said that Rawlings is known to have a heart condition and has been supported by a pacemaker for years? This is the reason why he was admitted at the Cardiothoracic centre to treat both the malaria and the heart issue with his pace maker.

Foreign Affairs / Rawlings Did Not Die Of COVID 19 by LePrezident(m): 1:59pm On Nov 19, 2020

A former spokesperson for late Ghanaian ex President Jerry John Rawlings, Kofi Adams, has totally rubbished claims that the former President died as a result of complications from COVID-19.

According to Mr. Adams, “if it was COVID, we know where that treatment centre is, so he would have been sent there and doctors who attended to him would have done so fully protected with the appropriate protective wear but that was not the case.”

He said this whiles speaking with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Citi TV’s on ‘Face to Face’ program.

Mr. Adams says that as far as he is knows, the ex President was being treated for something entirely different.

Mr. Jerry John Rawlings passed on the 12th of November 2020, at the Cardiothoracic Centre of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. He was aged 73 at the time of his passing.

There were unsubstantiated claims that the former President died due because he had been infected with COVID-19.

“As far as I know, he was just treating Malaria, COVID-19 is nowhere near any of the reasons why he was hospitalized,” Mr. Kofi Adams insisted.

When asked by the host of Face to Face, Umaru Sanda Amadu, about why the former President was receiving treatment at the Cardiothoracic Centre, Mr. Adams said: “he [Rawlings] had complained of heart problems…and he has indicated that his pacemaker had been worked on, and he opened up on this health issue in an interview before, but things were normalized.”

Phones / South African Student Launches His Own Smartphone Company by LePrezident(m): 9:01pm On Sep 24, 2020

South African student Lesley Ncube is the founder of Thatha, a tech company incorporated and operating from the KwaZulu Natal province of South Africa. As one who studied in the discipline of computer science, Lesley solely designs the software and hardware of his smartphone which he calls Shumi.

The company name Thatha is deived from Zulu language, which means “take.”

He started the company as an online shop two years ago in South Africa. Soon after the launch of Thatha, Lesley had bigger ideas that included producing affordable devices for Africans by Africans.

“With Thatha, I decided to go the traditional route by starting with developing hardware, then moving on to software. That’s when we developed the Shumi smartphone,” Lesley says.

“We manufacture all our products from the onset, including the software. This is also why we decided on a dot za [.co.za] domain so that people know that it was a local product and locally made”, he added.

Growing up, the young entrepreneur had two passions, they were playing football and technology.

Lesley says that he quit playing football for good when he got into high school and rediscovered his love for tech after an article piece about how Bill Gates started Microsoft at a young age.

“I was 14 when I fell in love with tech. I realised that this is what I should do to work towards making a change, and the impact I want in the tech industry for Africa.”

Lesley produced his first smartphone in 2018, which is now referred to as he Shumi smartphone.

The phone currently retails for 4000 South African Rands (236 US Dollars) and has thus far been well-received.

He says that “there’s support for the brand and what it stands for. I hope we can achieve something as big as Google or Microsoft right here in South Africa.”

The 26-year-old is currently at the final stages of his postgraduate studies and an advanced diploma in computer science. “It’s important to not only focus on business,” he says. “I encourage people to keep on learning and educating themselves. I strongly believe that the more one learns, the more one can grow.”

Lesley says he believes in starting small and growing to eventually becoming global. “Go for your dream and you’ll realise once you start, everything will fall into place. Start small and build from there,” he says.

“Africa has a lot to offer, we have a very skilled and capable workforce and it’s us as the youth that has potential to attract investors to our continent and position us as a global force,” he adds. “A lot can come from here.”

Romance / Man Fakes Blood Group To Break Up With Fiancée Who Wanted Lavish Wedding by LePrezident(m): 7:44am On Sep 24, 2020

A young Nigerian man who could not afford the kind of flamboyant wedding his fiancée was pestering him for decided to devise a way to falsify his blood group type so as to throw impediments in the way of the supposed marriage.

The man who identifies on Twitter as Okoye Agulu took to the micro blogging site to disclose that his lover demanded 5 million Naira (almost 13,000 dollars) for just their upcoming wedding event.

According to him, the supposed fiancée demanded a 4 million Naira wedding of him, and also, he is obliged to give her 1 million Naira to plan her “Asoebi” and other wedding expenses.

And once Okoye Agulu realized that the expenses being asked of him were above his pay grade, and it appeared that he had already committed and saw no way to opt-out of the relationship, he decided to go to a hospital to forge a medical report, claiming he was AS, so they couldn’t marry since she is actually of the AS blood group.

Much as it sounds unconventional, it worked for him anyway.

“I once dated this girl, she told me that we will do 4Million Naira wedding, I will deposit 1million in her account for wedding expenses and also she will sell asoebi cloth. To cut d story short, I went to the hospital and forged medical report that I am AS because she is AS. She cried, I cried We move,” Okoye Agulu wrote on Twitter.

Romance / Ghana Police Men Advised To Reduce The Number Of Rounds To Save Energy For Work by LePrezident(m): 9:51am On Sep 23, 2020

The Accra Region Commander of the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Afful Boakye-Yiadom has admonished his fellow police officers across the country to reduce their sexual activities in the run-up to this year’s general election which is scheduled for he 7th of December.

According to him, reducing the number of sexual rounds will give members of the Police service the much needed energy to undertake their activities around the upcoming presidential and parliamentary election.

“Control yourself, we all need the energy to work during the election I, therefore, advise all of you to eat well, reduce your sexual rounds for you to get the energy to work well before, during and after 2020 elections.”

He was speaking after a route march organised by the Police service to assure the public of its readiness ahead of the elections.

DCOP Kwaku Boadu-Peprah who is currently the Director-General in charge of Operations of the entire Ghana Police service further cautioned police personnel to desist from engaging in partisan political activities in the lead up to the 2020 general elections.

“As a policeman, you are not supposed to involve yourself in any political activity. You can only do that when you enter the polling booth, there you can exercise your power”.

“When it is time for the election, we are just going out there to discharge our duty and at the end of it whoever comes to power it is none of our business, we support the government of the day”, he added.

Music/Radio / Laycon’s ‘who Is Laycon’ EP Review by LePrezident(m): 9:16am On Sep 23, 2020

It is another session of review for a body of music work, and this time it is that of Big Brother Naija Season 5 housemate, Laycon (Olamilekan Agbeleshe).

Laycon has become the latest sensation on the continent just in the space of 9-weeks.

When he got into the Big brother Nigeria house 9 weeks ago, his Instagram account had just a little over 3,000 followers and his twitter was practically a paltry number. But 9 weeks later, this young man is not only gunning for the ultimate prize of the BBNaija reality TV show, he has also grown a cult of loyal fanbase which has seen his Instagram grow to over 1 Million followers and his Twitter inching close to 300 thousand followers… Mind freaking Blowing!

A couple of months before entering the house, Laycon had released n 8-track EP titled ‘Who is Laycon‘ which had been enjoying just a few 10s of thousands of plays. Today, that EP has over 7 million streams on all platforms, thus it is just apt that I do a review of this body of art work.

Track 1 – The Question (Intro)
This track is a befitting one as track number 1 for the body of music work.

It is a short 36-second audio which practically has the artiste in a conversation with an unidentified female… I guess she is supposed to be some type of shrink who is helping him with a process of self discovery, and ultimately, self actualization.

On the track, the lady asks, “picking up from where we left off, who are you?”

Laycon responds saying, “I can’t lie to you, I’m still on my journey… I don’t know… I don’t know… I’m just trying to figure out what part of me they want… like, should I be myself or should I be the Laycon that they can understand?”

Rating: 7/10

Track 2 – Who Is Laycon
This is the track that the entire EP takes a name and draws inspiraion from, and this can be seen by the way Mr. Agbeleshe goes hard with the bars here. His flow was perfect on this track, he was hitting hard and lacing the verses with lots of wisdom.

The first line actually does it for me on this one.

“Who is Laycon? I am a god in a human body!”

Rating: 8/10

Celebrities / Bbnaija: I Love Nengi And I Dont Care What The World Thinks – Ozo by LePrezident(m): 6:59pm On Sep 22, 2020

Ozo, the 15th and last housemate to be evicted from this season’s BBNaija reality television show had a sit down chat with Ebuka and made some interesting revelations.

Ebuka asked about his friendship with Dorathy which at a point confused a lot of viewers as to what the true definition of that association was.

Ozo answered saying, “Dora and I bonded right from the get-go, on the first day in the BBNaija house… and we have been close ever since.”

“Let’s talk about Nengi, what was it that you saw? And when did you start feeling like, okay, this is where I am going to die?” Ebuka quizzed the ex-housemate.

“I think it was on my birthday in the house when I was giving everyone compliments and I said to her that I feel like she is a strong person… that her one attribute alone of being strong draws me close to her,” Ozo replied.

Ebuka then asked him why he did not stop pursuing Nengi even though she wasn’t showing signs of giving in to his advances.

Ozo replied saying that as long as he loved her and was willing to go the full mile for her, and he didn’t care what the world thought about him.

Literature / What Are The Odds? - A Short Novel by LePrezident(m): 1:40pm On Feb 21, 2020
Somewhere I can't remember, I remember an untold tale about a mortal who wanted to do nothing but be against the odds... traditional odds, cultural odds. As expected or can be predicted in a minor community, everyone would love to be hailed or fight for an audience, be known for achievements or be given privileges especially from the supreme, whatever the case, obviously honourable, except...

The atmosphere was filled with a thick fog. It was assumed to be there because it was an early hour and it stayed more than it should ideally. It did not however prevent this damsel from doing whatever she had to do. This weather caused almost all the maidens to skip some of their morning chores, but not BB. BB cleaned the medium-sized compound before her parents hut like a normal day. The fog reduced visibility for her, but she's been doing this for as long as she can remember, as such she knew the corners of her home like her own name... she could even do it with her eyes closed.

As the day became less foggy, she hid her eagerness and excitement as she cleared her father's table after he had consumed all the she had served him. And just as she was about to exit home, she heard her grandmother call, but she played deaf and run off into her aim, which was as impatient as herself.

Soon she reached her destination, the most peaceful place she's ever known, somewhere she'd choose over the heavens, the arms of the man she loved.

"Why did you make me miss you?" she pouted. "But I got here before you," KK said smiling from cheek-to-cheek. They discussed their day between pleasantries, compliments, smiles and hugs. KK then began moving his palms closer to BB's behind... then came a shout "hei!"... Both startled!

Phones / Google Mistakenly Sends Man 9 New Phones Worth $9000 After He Complains About Hi by LePrezident(m): 2:30pm On Apr 22, 2019
Google is relatively new to the phone device business in comparison with its rivals Samsung and iPhone, as such it is no surprise that their customer service is still somewhat behind those of the competitors mentioned.

A Reddit user who goes by the name u/Cheetohz has posted about his experience with Google’s customer support where the situation ended up being bizarre in his favour. Cheetohz says that he booked a 128GB variant of the Pixel 3, but found it to be defective upon delivery. He then got in touch with the customer support and made a compliant, and returned the device after which they gave him a refund of $80, leaving an outstanding refund balance of $900, the process of refunding his $900 was then dragging subsequently.

Despite this, Cheetohz was bent on getting his hands on a functional Pixel 3, so he placed another order in a separate transaction. Surprisingly, his Google dealer got his order mixed up and had 10 units of the Pixel 3 phone sent to him – meaning that he got 9 extra phones, each priced at almost $1000. He jokingly says “the deal went from sour to a profit of $8000.”

As it stands, Cheetohz could do as he pleases with the deliveries by selling or using all 10 units, as there is currently no known law that requires him to send the products back as they have already been shipped by the seller. Cheetohz however says that he would like to play fair, as such he has reached back to Google about the mistaken deliveries. He instead wants Google to pay his outstanding $900 refund in exchange for the 9 additional unit deliveries.

Google’s Reddit support as already reached out to Cheetohz and are helping to sort out the issue.
