After reading comments on this thread I'll say ladies shudnt waste their breath on the men; coz we failed on this one. How long are we gonna keep blaming the men, the likes of Remi, Stella, Abike and co are extremely useless and foolish. Have never met people dt slow before. You mean they cudnt rally women and support d bill, all they knw is how to embezzle money and all. How are the men gonna take us seriously if we don't put more effort on it. Educate every man in ur life concerning d bill coz am sure none of d myopic males commenting didn't read what d bill is all abt. They're just blabbing abt a woman nt collecting their money. How much una get sef for dis forum

Women are in trouble. Instead of dem to get serious abt what they need as a gender most of dem are busy tryna be runs girls, waist-training, learning how to do unrealistic makeups, chasing horsebands sideboos or tryna be a sidechick or babymama. I suggest you ignore him, he's having that much effect on you because you've attached alot of relevance on him. Separation isn't needed because he won't feel it. Stay in your home and ignore the living day out of his life and watch him squirm!

My Uncle of about 55 years lost his wife about 7years ago when his only child; a son was 20yrs.
Now the father want to marry another woman and the son who is now 27 also want to marry, as he is the only child, so that he should keep the lineage going.

Let me give you an example, someone brought up the topic of equal rights on Nairaland, and most of the male 'commenters' were of the opinion that women are inferior to men, and some even went as far as saying women should earn less in the workplace because they are not as intelligent and productive as men.

When I think deeply about it, I'm afraid I have to lay the blame at the feet of 'our Mothers'. Why, you ask? I believe that women are closest to their children, they are the primary nurturers hence have the ability to influence their thinking and reasoning pattern very early in life and even when they are grown, as we all listen to our mothers and try as much as possible to do what gladdens their hearts. So, when I see a young man who beats his wife, the first thought that comes to my mind is 'His mother has failed at raising this young man properly'.

That's why l laugh wen i hear ppl say our mother/olden days mothers were such good parents; if they were i think most people especially men will make sound judgement in every aspects of life. While children will always find their own path, foundation matters alot, sadly the family system in this country lacks solid foundation, the old women concentrated too much on the females while expecting the males to figure it out by themselves, those one too will look at the father figure who are ever chauvinistic in their nature.

Also the terrible ways any man treats any woman right now is solely the woman's fault. You don't have to take it you know, no one holds the key to your happiness except you. But most women will continue to take it forgetting every person has a limit, and wen its passed the limit they either break down or engage in uncalled indulgence.

Learn to either take it or walk away, I'll pick the latter. We need to stop being a victim and also raise our sons well like the op said.

We still don't know the real reason you slapped her or how many times you did, all i saw was "to cut the story short i slapped her". This story has been trending for sometime now on twitter/instagram but it didn't really get my attention till I overheard the same discussion on a radio station this morning.

Apparently a little 7year old boy asked his dad to get him an iPhone, to which the dad demanded 10 excellent grades from the kid. The little chap went on to surpass the target by bagging 15 excellent grades out of a total of 16.

The teacher's comment states and i quote "Gerrard has improved greatly in his spelling/reading skills. However,  he needs improvement in self esteem.  Kudos!" .

I was pretty amazed at some contributions made on the station this morning.  I thought this really wasn't so much to deliberate on or argue over. Perhaps i was wrong.

What really got me thinking and prompted me to put this up was the fact that I could connect the dots thinking through the answers some people gave and to why as a nation we haven't made so much progress in years.

I know that we are all entitled to our opinions and stuff but the level at which the majority pitch their reasoning is why things would probably remain the same for a long time to come.

For example some folks said he should get the little kid a China version of the iPhone (a chinco), one said he would get the kid the iPhone and steal it from the child in other to keep it safe.

A caller even went as far as saying the little 7YEAR OLD was a SCAMMER and that he wasn't doing so well in class on purpose in other to get the father to do his bidding. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS

Others went on to say he should get the little kid a mobile phone but probably not as expensive as the iPhone. The one that really got me dazed was a comment saying the father shouldn't get the child anything and that its the perfect time to teach the child about disappointment.
Like seriously? 

Following these line of thoughts we subconsciously train our kids that it is right to be dishonest, it is right to make a promise you cannot keep, people shouldn't be trusted, it is right to steal for the "greater good" and so many more. Then we look around and wonder why the nation is in a quagmire.

Sadly we are the architects of our future.

Nigerians we are so sad, frustrated and sorrowful; it's a shame we are passing it on to our children

Hello everyone, this story is about my younger sister and I need your advice. My sis got married last year December to a man she thought she knew. After the traditional wedding she relocated to where he got an apartment for her. This guy doesn't stay in nigeria. A 53yr old man lied that he's 39 and y'all cudnt tell or u were all blinded by the money. It's only when a nigga is making it rain that people don't research well on his background. If your sis did she wouldn't have ended up in such a dilemma.

You see, I have financial freedom, I can afford to walk away right now and life will not be miserable because I can comfortably eat my three square meals daily, afford good accommodation and take care of my two kids. God has blessed me past that level where a man can make me his foot mat. I have a good job, I don't depend on him for my upkeep, I didn't grow from his money. I had a job even before I met him so, If I decide to let him stay with his "friendship" I told him by telling me what your not going to do you are telling what you are going to do.
