Sports / FIFA Bans Samson Siasia For Life by lesluga: 10:43am On Aug 17, 2019
FIFA bans Samson Siasia for life
August 16, 2019Tunde Eludini
A former Super Eagles player and coach, Samson Siasia, has been slammed with a life ban by the world football governing body, FIFA.

The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee of the world football body found Siasia, a former official of the Nigeria Football Federation, guilty of having accepted that he would receive bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches in violation of the FIFA Code of Ethics.

According to the statement on the FIFA website, a wide-scale investigation was carried out on Siasa before the landmark judgment was delivered.

The statement read: “The formal ethics proceedings against Mr Siasia were initiated on 11 February 2019 and stem from an extensive investigation into matches that Mr Wilson Raj Perumal attempted to manipulate for betting purposes.

“This large-scale investigation was conducted by FIFA via its competent departments and in cooperation with the relevant stakeholders and authorities.

“In its decision, the adjudicatory chamber found that Mr Siasia had breached art. 11 (Bribery) of the 2009 edition of the FIFA Code of Ethics and banned him for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level. In addition, a fine in the amount of CHF 50,000 has been imposed on Mr Siasia.

“The decision was notified to Mr Siasia today, the date on which the ban comes into force.”

Siasia played 51 international matches for Nigeria, in which he scored 13 goals. He was part of the team that participated in the 1994 FIFA World Cup and won the 1994 African Nations Cup.

He was also a member of the Nigerian team that won bronze at 1992 African Nations Cup in Senegal.

He participated in the National Team over a period of 11 years.

In 2005, Siasia coached the Under-20 team (Flying Eagles), taking them to the final of both the 2005 Under-20 World Cup and the U-20 African Youth Championship.

He won the African Youth Championship and advanced all the way to the world final – before losing to Argentina 2–1. He also assisted Augustine Eguavoen in coaching the national team.

Samson Siasia was appointed national U-23 coach in January 2007.

In 2008, he coached the Nigerian Under-23 Olympic squad to the final against Argentina, he also led Nigeria to a bronze medal finish at the Rio 2016 Olympics among other accomplishments as a manager.

Siasia coached the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, between February and August 2016.

Siasia has a soulmate in Osuna

The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee of FIFA also found Romer Osuna, former treasurer and member of the Executive Committee of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) and former member of several FIFA committees, guilty of bribery in violation of the FIFA Code of Ethics.

The investigation proceedings against Mr Osuna referred to a bribery scheme during the 2012-2015 period, in particular to his role in awarding contracts to companies for the media and marketing rights to CONMEBOL competitions.

In its decision, the adjudicatory chamber found that Mr Osuna breached article 27 (Bribery) of the 2018 edition of the FIFA Code of Ethics and, as a result, sanctioned him with a ban for life on taking part in any football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level.

In addition, a fine in the amount of CHF 1,000,000 has been imposed on Mr Osuna.

Mr Osuna was notified of the decision today, the date on which the ban comes into force.

A Nigerian man has had his story trend online after screenshots of the chat he had with one of his friends concerning his now ex-girlfriend were shared online.

From their conversation, the said gentleman narrated to his friend how he had told his girlfriend that he was cash strapped for the season and so couldn’t take care of her expenses at this time.
Acting like she had him in consideration, she told him everything will be okay and so his mind was settled at first but on second thought, he decided to test her loyalty and so he posed as one of his friends who owns a Benz.

Read the screenshots and see the end game of what happened after,

"I applied for a visitor visa as a family ( wife n kid) and i didnt mention the fact that we were considering child birth. I submitted very credible supporting docs ( statements of accts, salary slips, introduction latter from my company stating my net worth, fix deposit certificates, passed traveling history and letter of invitation from my brother who is a PR)"

Hearing these for the first time. Provisional airline ticket booking I thought was mandatory and have had that attached to my family members' application even though we got invited by our siblings.... Strange

hello @ osagieworld no i didn't because they didn't ask for it, mind u i applied through visitation probably yours is through tourism hence the request for the airline ticket. i would also advise u to use the paper application cause it seems faster and you can be easily corrected at the point of submission if there are any errors and also the online application will most likely ask you to provide documents that you might not have ,
osagieworld:

hello lesluga (or anyone else that has processed a canadian visa)... did you include a provisional airline booking in your visa application going through the application checklist now and under purpose of trip, it says...provide a provisional airline booking.

please help o!

@ orente2016 for the sake of those that still want answers to those questions, i will answer to the best of my ability both here and your pm.
i had previously spent a year outside the country on study sponsored by my company, this allowed me to travel in and out of the nigeria multiple times and on each occasion at the POE my passport was stamped of which i made photocopies of my passport booklet. i was also given a study permit during my period of stay which enable me to open a bank acct in the country of my study of which i submitted proof of the acct also.
you might not have same travel history like mine but your best bet is to state the country n duration of time you spent there backed by copies of you stamped passport booklet.

[quote author=Orente2016 post=58740148]Good morning house.
@ lesluga,
Pls I just sent u a pm, pls in supporting documents how did u go about ur travel history? Did u just type it or wat? I will really appreciate if u respond sir.tx

I want to thank you all in this thread especially hotstepper and justwise, You guys have been great.'
Well my journey so far goes like this. I started the process of application in feb 2017 after my wife introduced my to this thread.

I read through all 36 pages at the time and with the info i went online downloaded the required tutorial videos and forms on cic.ca ( the videos are very helpful) .

I applied for a visitor visa as a family ( wife n kid) and i didnt mention the fact that we were considering child birth. I submitted very credible supporting docs ( statements of accts, salary slips, introduction latter from my company stating my net worth, fix deposit certificates, passed traveling history and letter of invitation from my brother who is a PR)

The whole visa process took exactly a month and i intially thought they just kept it aside n waited for exactly 30days to send it bck to me with out processing it ( cos a colleague had a similar experience). We were given 5years visa each and the planing for the trip started immediately cos my wife was already 20weeks gone n the baby bump is already showing(2nd baby).
I have gone to drop them over there in canada and am back to work to cont the hustle while they flex and prepare for the baby.
At the point of entry ( toronto), the POE didnt even know my wife was pregnant since all attention was drawn towards me and she too was wearing a winter jacket. The only major question asked was why was i stating a 30days visit and my wife and kid was stating 6 months. I simply told him i had to go back to resume work while my family stay back to spend time with my brother and his family.

For now she is seeing the doc my brother introduced her to and will book an appointment close to her due date to see the gyno to save cost. For those seeking for cheap delivery , you can try canada birthing centers. My wife heard about it but she couldnt secure an appointment cos they were fully booked in the edmonton area. The cost is as low as $500 cad. And only for low risk pregnancies.
So our last phase is ongoing n will update u guys on how it goes. Love u all.

Crime / How Apostle Weeks Caused Akwa-ibom Church Collapse – Contractor by lesluga: 7:35am On Jan 21, 2017
How Apostle Weeks caused Akwa-Ibom Church collapse – Contractor

Mr. Idorenyin Daniel Udo of Whitesteel Integrated Services, the contractor that fabricated and installed roof of the collapsed church building in Akwa-Ibom State has told the Commission of Inquiry how Apostle Akan Weeks, the founder of Reigners Bible Church, caused the incident.

He insited that Weeks did not make complete payment of N26 million for the roofing project to him as he claimed.

During his cross-examination, Mr. Udo said instead of N26 million, Weeks paid him N20,250,000 as at the time of the collapse.

The Nation report that Udo revealed how Weeks pressurized him from 2nd December 2016 to remove the scaffold that supported the weight of the roof, but he refused.

He disclosed that Weeks then threatened to arrest him and his workers should he fail to comply.

Udo said following his refusal, one Engr. Essiet, who is one of the members of church building committee, called scaffolders elsewhere on Thursday 8th December 2016 to come for the removal of the scaffold.

On the claim that he ordered the scaffold to be removed, Udo said he could not in any way give such approval.

“I did not give anybody approval to remove any of the materials used during the installation of the roof.

“Scaffold can only be removed when the roof is completely set.

“I advised Apostle Weeks to allow the scaffold to remain since roofing was not completed.

“I only removed two of the seven derricks used during roof installation, and not the scaffold.

“Derrick is equipment that is used to move materials from one place to another.”

Udo recalled that on Friday 9th December, he had noticed a crack at the right side of the octagonal church building by the second beam which he drew the attention of the site supervisor, Anietie Ndarake, who Weeks introduced to him as the church architect.

“I called the attention of the site supervisor, Anietie Ndarake, and he said that after the programme on Saturday, the concrete would be reinforced”, he added.

Udo suggested that the crack might have contributed to the collapse of the building on Saturday 10th December, 2016.

Maltreatment Of MTN Call Center Agents At Mayfair Gardens

''Indians are here on Nigerian soil, slaving us and using our money to en-rich their lives. This must stop...''

''I work as a customer care representative for Mtn Nigeria which was contracted for Communication Network Support Services Limited (CNSSL at Mayfair Garden Ibeju Lekki) we have always been told from the onset that we are not full staff of MTN Nigeria which we acknowledged but MTN has terminated the Contract CNSSL partly and now contracted it to a South African Indian company called ISON BPO. We've been maltreated badly.

The termination took effect on July 31st, we were re-issued another 3months contract letter from same CNSSL. before the termination of appointment, MTN who is the principal partner already sent a mail to all of us that our Unspent Leave days will be monetised. Gbenga Adebayo who is the CEO of CNSSL, paid nobody nothing and we have been working for 3years and (we have been confirmed as a full staff with letters), took up all our Unspent Leave days and cancelled them all. from August 1st to Oct 31st which the new contract states, we will not be going on Leave.
Those of us on Maternity Leave were asked to resume, even if u had the baby a day before or face been sacked I have a two weeks old baby and am working to support my family, so I can afford being sacked. But the stress is killing I leave home 4:20 everyday and get home close to midnight, except on night shift I can't even continue breastfeeding my baby, Our HMO has been cancelled. We were left with nothing after which he's sub contracting from ISON BPO for the period of 3 months (1st of August to 31st of October) We would be paid just our normal salary which is 75,367.05 Our work time has been unjustly increased from 5hours 20mins to 9hrs with one hour break which is unfair to us. This increase is only applicable to those in Mayfair Gardens, Ibeju Lekki, meanwhile most of us stay on the mainland, All other call centres (Apapa, Ikoyi, VGC), still run the normal shifts as usual. MTN has abandoned us and now we work like slaves. We can't talk because if we do we would be sacked, alot of people have been sacked unjustly. We're expected to pick calls and speak with 194 customers for the 9hrs. And for the night shift speak with 228 customers in 12hrs.

This is injustice.

While the stress is killing alot of us, we cant enjoy the free medical care because of the cancelled HMO. This is slavery I hope we would be saved from CNSSL/ISON BPO before its too late. This silence is long overdue and that is why I am sending this mail, Indians are here on Nigerian soil, slaving us and using our money to en-rich their lives. This must stop.

The MTN staff in south Africa recently protested for salary increment. We are not asking them for too much, all we ask for is our normal shift hours and for them to put an end to this madness''.
