Hello all. I am a guy of 30 years and I met a girl 2 months ago. I work in a multinational and I must say I am quite comfortable. I stay in a flat of my own, have 2 good cars and am also quite good looking. Now like I said I met this girl who is a graduate but not yet working and we became friends for about a month before I asked her out. Before then she showed me some kind of 'geeen' light which also showed she was interested in me. For example she could flash me consistenrly till I give her a call, sometimes she will call me in d middle of the night to say she wants to wish me a good night and even went to the extent of quarelling with her sibling
when the lattee demanded to know whom I was and why she is tripping for me so easily when she doesn't
know much about me. To be honest I still didn't count all these as anything as I realised I need to be myself and prove to the girl that am worth her love. Once in a while she acts like she is interested and sometimes she switches off like she raises her voice to me on the phone,sometimes dont pick my calls and claims she slept off.Though to be frank she apologises afterwards and even flashes me the next day to acknowledge my calls. I eventully asked her out and she said I should give her sometime only after 2 weeks to tell me she cannot date me because she doesn't like me. Like every normal guy I was so disappointed and I let her be. After her response to me she called me 2 days after with 3 calls in d day to say 'hello'. This got me thinking again and I resumed the game asking her if she could still be mine and d answer was still NO and she said that we should just stay friends. This got me thinking again and I had to do a little research as to her zodiac sign(she was born in the month of May which confirms that she is a taurus) and I got some astonishing 'reports' that taurus women have a need for security and trust, that they do not like to be rushed into relationships and that they weigh a lot of options before accepting to be in any relationship because they stand to be very very loyal to their partners though they can be quite stubborn at times. Thiis got me thinking about the whole thing
and I resolved to take a decision as follows: to be her
friend of course with no strings attached and also
during that course wait if she can have a change of
mind, but I will not develop feelings or rather try to
suppress my feelings and if I eventually find another girl I cherish I will go for her. Now my questions are
1. How long should /can I be in this 'friend zone'?
2. Is there a high probability that she will accept me later after gaining my trust.
Guys please note also that I like this girl so much no doubt about that that is why I have decided to take a decision like this. Also I am very experienced in relationship issues but this is just somewhat diferent from all what have seen. I must also say that I an a guy that every woman will dream of having (not bragging) as i am young and very comfortable and quite Godly too. I will love ladies in the house, taurus women in the house to give me their honest views as regards this. Mature minds only please. God bless you all.

emotion man feels, u just cant comprehend its intensity and the way it controls us. and if you have ever felt love, youl find out that staying with a man that u really dont love wil be like punishment. you either love someone or u dont , the person either makes your heart beat faster or doesnt, this is someone u can forgive every offense all so easily or not, this is someone u are ready to bend your self to the lowest for or not. what i feel the poster should be referring to is the level of affection and commitment and respect. it becomes love when there is passion and readiness to forgive and compromise. that is what makes love unconditional and every day is like a new day/.

yes it feels more comfortable when the guy in the initial stage is more commited and affectionate, but what if it wears of later which it usually does, it is the love the woman has that keeps the relationship going, and her strenght does not fail cos it is fueled by love which is why even when the guy has really erred, its so easy to forgive and move on with the relationship even when everyother chief adviser does not see any reason to not breaking up.

for me both parties have to be in real love to make it work, so that no one is cheated(yes the one with more love is usually cheated), or fustrtrated ( doesnt really love is usually fustrated and whould be unnessesarily difficult with the other with the party that is more in love, and given any opportunity might be tempted to even go as far as cheating or falling in love with someonbe else).

so for me, the guy should be really commited and affectionante with the ladyd really resp, while the lady should love the guy, it is this love that will later translate into respect while the man will grow to love her more because she has shown him unconditional love.

this is why the bible even emplores us that husbands love your wifes and wifes respect your husband.

respect in marriage is an advanced form of love. it implies willingful submission.

Their part is to join people that wants to marry together and not trying to seperate them or prophesying some form of s/hit. If you like the girl go ahead and marry her. Forget about the pastor. Just make up your mind to keep your marriage no matter what it takes. If the girl was their brother's daughter, would they still 'see' the same thing?

Hi Nairalanders. I met a girl 8 months ago and everything about us clicked. We. Plan to get marriied next year. However, just to seek the blessings of my spiritual leader. I told him about my girl and after about 2 days he told me that at the latter part of our marriage we will break up. He also said he told 2 other pastors to pray about it and the same is what they are saying. Now friends this made me to observe more and I noticed that my girl does not have such trait. Moreover her last relationship lasted 5 yrs and she never broke up with the guy until he broke her heart. I have resolved and am determined to make sure I do not listen to suuch but my parents are not helping matters especially my Dad, though they like her but the revelation has left them totally spell bound. Kindly advise me friends as my decision will not be friendly to my parents. Thank you all.

Billyonaire: I dont know abt freshers rejecting jobs, but I do have many bankers who happen to become my friends. Their general opinion is if they have an option with lower pay, say 75% of what they earn in the bank that they will leave bank jobs immediately. It has a lot to do with stress and targets.

This is very true. I work in a bank and I so much crave to leave the industry if I get a job that can pay @ least 60% of my present salary.
