Good afternoon guys, I am still lost on how to update my application, with the ommited visa denial. Can anyone point me in the right direction please. @emeify I tried in boxing you. A prompt response from anyone is welcomed as time fast ticking.
emeify:
Send them a message using the online form explaining u made an error, before they find out themselves. Yes, it tells in your integrity.

Thanks for your response, how do I go about this, is there an email I can write to? What are the necessary information I should include to help them link this new explanation to my earlier submitted application?

Greetings guys, I am not exactly new here cos I have been off and on since my first and last visa application for study permit to canada.
I am currently applying for tourist visa to enable me attend a business summit. In my application I made a similar mistake by not stating all previous visa denial, as I had misunderstood the question to mean denials from Canada. Please would this have a negative effect on my application, especially with a visible Italian consolate denial stamp unmentioned on a page in my passport. My application is about 2weeks old now. What do I do?

Bros them slam me denial too.God dey sha.
BashToks: I was denied on the grounds that
"You have not been able to convince us that you are a bonafide student" which according to vfs is what they say when they have no candid excuse for denying an applicant.
I did everything by the book didn't leave any room for error and yet I got denied at the last minute.
VFS said they got way too many denials for a week or 2 cos they heard a new new immigration officer stepped in to handle applications for 6 weeks.
So bad timing for me and all the other numerous people that got denied during that period I guess.

I have one question for people that have used or are using the online application route though..
Do I need to upload a receipt for tuition payment right from the start or should I wait until the embassy asks me to do that.. cos as it is am due to get my full tuition refund from Seneca college by end of January so I can now use that to pay for my new school.
ThanKs!

Nicely said, madam Beulah ,it is ok to be emotional about certain decisions, but atimes that could be like shooting yourself in the foot.I read an intresting reply chrigo gave a newly wedded man looking to invite his spouse to canada and the possibility of this, totally butresses your point on the importance this developed countries place on the unification of families and with that in mind you need not worry much about leaving them for a few months, especially if this could alley VO's worries as to your return back to naija and better your chances at the Trv.A little sacrifices atimes is what is needed to achieve our dreams.Although my parents never left for Canada, they were not exactly at home till 5-6pm or in town all together and were probably too tired when they returned, but all six of us siblings turned out fine, earning degrees in four major disciplines in the country today ,but ofcourse with the help of God.Trust me when I tell you this,we would have been better if our mum had dashed out briefly to canada and made us join her in time.I for one would have stuck to my childhood dreams of being a world renowned architect and not just an architect from nigerias best school of architecture looking to bridge the gap by opting for a project managment course.what I am sayin is your children would eventually thank you if you don't jumble their chances of relocating without suspicions.
halle2: It is very obvious that you are very passionate about your kids, everyone is. I am a mother of three kids, but let us put sentiments aside. These guys are right, applying with these kids would need a very strong SOA to show that she can cater for the kids and also afford a nanny, cos Canada I believe is like AMerica, and because she would be attending lectures, who would look after them while she is in school? Remember she isn't expected to leave them all by themselves at this age. Secondly, they would serve as home ties. After six months she can still invite them for hols and from there change their status, they start schooling there.
We are looking at best chances of getting the trv, as for me, as much as I love my kids,my eye is on the prize.Once I apply alone and get my trv, then getting the kids over to join me is piece of cake,it would only be a matter of six months.

Yes,you can book on hold without paying immediately, then a reference number is sent to your email, actutally this number comes with your booking invoice, wakanow are most likely to contact you in hours of your booking to confirm if you made reservation and probably advice you on payment options.I always prefer using quickteller, wch charges 100naira per transactn

Wow,u shud join the UN peace mission to waring countries.Ur conflict resolution style is commendable.I had to read it for the third time.Thank and I pray we all heed and let peace reign. Its the surest way to success on this forum.
britiko: @All - I appreciate this thread and everyone that has kept it going and alive!
@miss bon- I'm happy for you, u came, u saw and conquered! U got extra package alongside ur trv.
@chrigo- thanks for ur contribution so far, you ve been a major source of help to applicants on this thread. God bless you. And I'm happy for u concerning mis- bon.

However, I wld like to imploy u guys to keep ur relationship PRIVATE. I understand the heavenly gish gish feeling, we've all been there.
To some its fun sharing in d love journey, and to others its distractions. Such is life. Thanks for ur understanding.

Earthgreeners, might av used the wrong choice of word dat isn't palatable but I know he meant well. He even asked after chrigo's well being.
I've known him to be respectful, calm and a good guy. He's being a valuable veteran on this thread, and has contributed immensely.

Let's view it dis way. If every couple dat gets hooked on dis forum displays dier affections like u do, then the purpoSe of this thread would be defeated. As it would be termed as distractions, de railing and d likes.(Which is against the rule of nairaland anyway)

Let's learn to settle issues amicably.
I remember d issue of chrigo using too many emoticons/ smileys when he joined newly, sum1 raised it and it was as if d dude was against chrigo @ d tym. But thank God for wisdom, chrigo heeded and there was peace. The humour in his post weren't eroded without his numerous emoticons.

There was also someone that used to post in CAPS. Chrigo raised it and he stopped. Even ambeyh was not an exemption and he adjusted.(Posting without coma, fulstops, etc)

However,Let's learn to tolerate one another, and continue the good work of this forum.
Many have saved substancial amount of cash due to info gotten from this forum.
Mis-bon, pls do not say ur days are numbered on the thread. Let's all give back to the newbies on the forum but it shldnt be to the detriment of our academic pursuits.

Kudos to oga phemmy and siga.
I'm sure some pple wld av said something silly @ some points to them. But they are still here. We appreciate u sirs.
@ Amefrica- pls, do not be hasty with harsh words.
To everyone involved in the ish (mis bon crap ish) , pls kindly settle and let go.

No more threat messages plss. It hasn't gotten to that.
Thinking abt it now, u guys are all friends.

To mis-bon, I APOLOGISE on behalf of Earthgreeners on his choice of word.

I'm on this thread cos we never hurl abusive words or insults @ one another, unlike a typical nairaland's thread.
There are better ways of passing our messages across.
Let's not loose focus on our ultimate goal which is lotsss of TRVssssssss.

May God help us all.
Wishing u guys a blissful year ahead.
Peace!

Well for me I grouped most of my documents based on their relationship with each other for example my financial documents, educational documents, explanation letters from my dad, brother and myself, first I pasted the scaned documents on MSword then saved as Pdf,which was too large to upload I then went on to compres them to the specified 4mb using www.pdfaid.com.then I completed online apps.hope u find this helpful best of luck
mobuch: Hello, nairalanders,

Please,I want to ask a question concerning online application,
When submitting different documents in proof of finance, are the different documents for that section going to be uploaded as one single file,?? Or are my going to upload each documents one by one or differently?

Graduate degree programs (MSc, PhD) in most Canadian universities are government funded, hence competition is very stiff. For a PhD program, the requirements often vary based on the school of choice and the program of choice. However, there is often a set of basic requirements many of which were mentioned in @surveyor1's post. Considering your circumstance, if your MSc. program is with research (a few universities such as OAU does that in Nigeria), then you might stand a chance if you are lucky to find a Professor (advisor) that have interest in your area of expertise and your technical/scientific writing skills are very outstanding. If your MSc is not with research, you might have to redo an MSc to get into any PhD program in Canada.

Overall, I wish you the very best in your pursuit.
Thanks a lot.I would take my chances preparing and if it takes longer than may.I will jst do the project management again in centinnial college and aim for distinction all the way.Do u think my performance on my pgd would give me a better standing for the phd ,dats ofcourse including all other requirement you and I have mentioned.I also would like to adopt the NL storming technique to see if I can have a one on one with my potential professors.what do u thinkhuh Do you kw anyone who got a phd placement by storminghuh
surveyor1: There is no assurance you can meet up with the application deadline for canada universities because most of the universities deadline is early December. Considering may for resumption date, it is impossible.
Two, PhD is about your research interest not the department itself. You need to write a good research proposal, because it is first step in research degree. Due to your area of degree, u can submit your portfolio. Building house doesn't really count, you need a company to give you work reference. It very good.
Furthermore, academic reference helps aswell.
There is no need for gmat since is not USA universities. Just write a very good research proposal and collate your portfolio. All the best
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by lexmikey: 3:57pm On Dec 23, 2013
Avoid the US?please any particular reason?
kclexa: Yes you need a transit visa to go through the US because they have open airport system. Am travelling to Canada with KLM but going through Amsterdam to Vancouver.

Please tell the KLM office to change your booking to a flight going through Europe straight to Canada.

KLM has 3 routes from naija to Canada of which 2 go through Europe straight to Canada while 1 flight goes through the US.

My 50 cent advice is avoid the USA on your first trip to Canada.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by lexmikey: 3:07pm On Dec 23, 2013
surveyor1: Graduate research committe you various criteria when selecting candidates for admission. 1. Academic merit 2. Good academic reference
3. Working experience
4. Professional certification
5. Publications
so you got better chance of getting admission because you of your ACCA n GMAT, forget about your bsc grade since you have got other certification n experience to uplift the average degrees. Infact, you are not applying with just bsc , so why worrying. Give it a shot. Infact try usa school, admission is sure man.
. This phd talk is getin really intresting.I have a Bsc an Msc in architecture frm two different universities in nigeria, with 3.6 n 3.2 cgpa respectively.I am currently expecting to join centinnial college by may.I do not have any publication but I have some independent research of mine dat could pass for that.(but not published),I also designed n built over 10houses in the past 3 years of my completing my msc which I started 2mnth after my NYSC.I work for me so I have no formal documentation as per employement.but I can provide aproved copies of building plans and picture of my work.I can also get recommendations frrom my past lecturers, as for the certification I have an associate membership with the NIA and I plan to do a quicky project mangment course but starts in january.my questions now are 1.can I get admited to study a phd in environmental science not the very compitetive archhitecture in unisak ,2.can this admission come b4 I resume with centennial in may,so I can transfer fund, that's considering the fundin wahala.3. would the immigration frown at my sudden swap esp wen they find out I hv a project management background and still enta plane come their dear country only to change my mind and migrate through a 4year Phd. 4.can I skip dat gmat exam thingy cos we don't get along fine.thanks for as u respond .
