1.When should we start the Building insurance process?
2. What should we avoid to make sure our offer is not rescinded prior to completion?
3. What are the things look out for on completion and when collecting keys.

- Until you exchange, property is NOT yours... But check for quotes.......
- Avoid the loan market.....
- On completion, ensure all terms agreed, was honoured. If white goods/furnitures are staying with property, ensure this are all documented.....

Someone close to me has been arrested / detained and I am confused. Please assist in my DM for practical steps to take. This UK is a new terrain.

Background

It’s a marital issue. Husband and wife have been having problems for about two years now. The man is the main skilled worker visa holder, while the wife is on a dependent visa. He moved out of their apartment a few months ago, but the wife is still living in the apartment he rented.

Recently, he was invited by the police for questioning. He reached out to a popular influencer-lawyer and paid his fee, the lawyer who reassured him (also advised him to use police provided solicitor and don’t say too much, just answer the questions you’re asked to answer). He went in for the interview, but after several hours, he was detained. He has made the call he’s entitled to but No information has been provided about the allegations, and everyone is completely in the dark.

Questions for experienced folks:
1. How long can the police legally hold him? I read 24hrs before arrest.
2. He is innocent of domestic violence or any criminal offence — how does this usually play out?

I’m really panicking. Please, if you have experience or advice, send me a DM due to the sensitivity of the matter. I’m also worried that enemies might be watching here. Thank you as you help us save an innocent soul.

Did the husband ever lodge any official complaints to the police, prior to his arrest?

Update on this matter: The bank has responded with the seller's rebuttal and is giving me an opportunity to respond or they will revert the charge back.
Can you imagine that this seller has forged my signature on 2 documents (Pre-Delivery Inspection document and Customer Certificate), claiming that I knew that the car had a steering fault and some other faults before test driving and purchasing it? Is this not a criminal offence?
This steering fault we are talking about is one that locked the steering o! How could I have possibly test-driven a car with a locked steering let alone buy it?? I also have the Autotrader advert, which I requested from Autotrader that the seller mentioned the car was faultless. I am packaging my response to the bank, and any advice will be welcome. Thank you!

Send a copy of recognised document with your signature, and EMPHASIS on the forged signature + all other relevant information that you have.......
