Thanks... not that the insurance was cheap. Thinking in line of a formal complaint before further escalation if need be. Sent them a straight-worded message yesterday. They agreed I could change the v5c address myself and send the updated one to them (sounds awkward) and they have taken a note for the relevant team to look into it. Annoyingly, its online only hence you can’t speak to anyone except when making a new claim.

Don't worry...... Nah initial gra-gra....... 🙄🤣

You can either use a broker or conventional high street banks (brokers have more products than high street banks).........

by my calculations, at least X1.7 than "clean" old builds.

Besides the risk that old builds could have underlying issues not detected during the survey and a cleaner look is there something else that drives the high asking price?

The same new looks attracting you, is what is pulling the expensive price...... New builds are generally overpriced.......

Plus the government is also complicit, by only offering LISA incentives, to new builds....... Further pushing prices up ........

Do you mean cash ISA or LISA........

Cut out all unnecessary expenses, be very disciplined..... Don't invest on the stock market, crypto etc etc

I am not sure there a lot of new builds that are not shared ownership or leases in my area. Very rare to find a full freehold for a new build in my area and they are very very expensive.

Look out of area and a reason exists, why they are more expensive........

How expensive are they in comparison......

Wondering if anyone has been involved in something similar and how they sorted it.

Got a pending insurance claim with Marshmallow (2nd post abt them today). They asked for v5c and other docs which I supplied.
Recently moved and changed my addresses including my driving licence and that on my policy (paid the admin fee), however totally forgot the v5c.

They came back and said the underwriters said I have to pay an extra prenium of £286 due to 'an issue' with my address. After enquiry, it's the v5c which bears my old address. I find this rather annoying as that had no bearing on my insurance prenium or cost in the first place and it was correct at the point of taking on the insurance. I am not in the mood to pay that extra and seeking means of resolution.

I also set up a royal mail redirection service just incase I missed any address change and I've been there a number of times to check so should have any mail sat there.

Send your insurance company a letter detailing everything + highlighting your change of address etc etc

Also request a deadlock letter on their position and inform them you would be escalating this incident to the financial ombudsman.......

Because they sit on committees which make decisions that ultimately affect stocks, they can trade stocks based on this information.

It should be illegal of course but they have refused to close this loophole. There is an app that allows you to mirror their trading . They also consistently beat the market.

The risk is that you will be trading based on 1 month old information.

That's the thing, my managed portfolio's does not have individual stocks...... They are populated with ETF'S/Index funds........

ETF'S/Index funds from worldwide markets (Europe, India, Japan) etc etc..... So the portfolio's are fully diversified......... 😂

I use Tipranks premium, to further pick individual stocks/indices/etf's.......
