Hello, my salary was 250pm, but because of COVID, salary was reduced to 200kpm. Can I submit letter from the company explaining this to IRCC? If I do, wouldn't IRCC think I won't come back because of situation in my job? @frank, @makano, and all gurus, Please, advise. Thanks Gokoyer1401: Hello Boss, If i may ask what kind of visa the family will apply for when they are ready to join primary applicant? |

Congratulations talk2dekky: TRV APPROVED
First Application Submitted - 25th January 2022 Biometrics - 28th January 2022 Eligibility Review - 10th March 2022 First Bvl- 30th March 2022 Second Bvl- 11th April 2022 Application Withdrawn- 13th April 2022
I received an email that I requested for application for withdrawal on 25th January the same day I applied. I knew this was an error or glitch because the gcms note I requested in March showed eligibility passed. But I knew there was no time to address that so I just reapplied immediately the same day with same documents.
Second Application
Submitted same day I received withdrawal letter - 13th April 2022 Eligibility Review - 25th April 2022 Bvl and ppr- 27th April
Immediately I reapplied I sent many webforms and email notifying them of the withdrawal error. I sent both my formal application number and the new one.
I have a valid us visa and travel history. So the only documents I submitted was invitation letter stating I am presenting at a conference, valid us visa, employment letter and a copy of the book I am presenting on.
Thanks everyone for all information here. Good luck to everyone still expectant. |

If a 1 year Postgraduate program costs 42k cad but you have 30kcad, with properties worth 70kcad, would this be fine? Frankrobbn1: You're absolutely right!, this is one of the mistakes most individuals make in their respective applications. I remember I have addressed this question long time ago in 2016/2017 when we had to argue it amongst ourselves on this platform, the thread was bubbling then LOL .
For clarity purposes and for future readers:
"If you're self-sponsored, you're expected to show proof of funds for the entire duration of your program in Canada. Only on the account are you being sponsored by someone can you declare proof of funds for the first academic year". Please ladies and gentlemen on this platform take note of this and make the most of this advice in your application.
It will end in praise |

Ok, thank you. JustMellow: Hello Lezy,
You don't. If it is required, it will be requested by IRCC. However, you can include the expired clearance certificate coupled with a brief explanation of the difficulty to get a renewed copy. The police clearance is mostly mandated for the EE route. Though including a copy will hasting the processing of your application as the verification process of your background check in that country will be swift.
Best of Luck |

Hello everyone, I had lived in one country before, now in 9jar, want to submit study visa, do I need police Clearance from this country I lived before? Please, advise....I have expired copy police Clearance of this country, can I submit it like that? I made an enquiry to this country, now, it would take 4 months to get police Clearance from them. What should I do? Thanks. JustMellow: Hello Quin9,
You are right, eligibility may have begun in the background. These guys don't even update real-time information no more in the GcKey account or GCMS notes making many applicants lose patience and get frustrated.
IRCC now conducts background checks and eligibility reviews concurrently on applications. Ensure to go on with your backup plans while you keep hoping for the best possible outcome.
Some applicants are also experiencing the same update issues with their biometrics after giving it.
Stay focused, and best of luck! |

Ok, thanks. I will fill, validate and type in my name and upload then. DestinationCann: It depends on the type of form. The instruction is usually there that You should print and sign if Yiu are to print and sign.
However, most require that Yiu fill, validate and out your name in the signature space then validate. You don't have to print and sign. |

If I download IRRC form, fill and validate it, do I print the form out so that I can sign it? Or I must type my name in the sign space on the computer? It's urgent, someone please advise. Thanks. CharitoJames: Do you need to explain to anyone why you are taking your own child who is a toddler along with you? It’s Nigerians that complicated things for themselves.. when they keep adding and doing what they weren’t asked to do... All this IRCC issues can’t be heard in other countries. Please Ma, your child is yours so it’s not their business as to why you are taking him or her.... file for the child in question, have enough money to show for the both of you and consent letter from hubby. No one would ask you why you had to take your child. |

Please, anyone has the contact for Police Clearance Assistance? Thanks tonnymexx: Hello gurus,
Please house, on 2018 i applied for study permit but was denied twice ever since then i didn't apply again. I approached a man that we bear the same surname (Umeh Paul) i refer him as my father so I used his CAC documents and his Bank statement. But my own real dad name is (Umeh Linus) due to the fact that my dad doesn't have CAC documents and bank statement.
How I want to help me younger brother to process his visa and I want to stand as his sponsor cos I have my personal saving account and CAC documents.
My question is should i continue to use the other man (Umeh Paul) documents so that we can have 2 CAC documents or instead I should register a new CAC documents for my own real dad company (Umeh Linus). Also if I should register my dad business and i use it together with my own. Won't the VO see it that I registered the company for the purpose of this visa application cos d documents will have a current date
Please house I need help and advice on this?
Thanks |

Naira card cannot work. If you have dollar card, it will work straight away. Bankowner: Ordinarily, your naira debit card should work but I'll advice you get confirmation from your bank first before you try especially since it is for academic purposes. |

Thank you. So GIC is different from investment certificate from micro finance from Nigeria? Could investment certificate from Nigeria bank be used for POF? ShallyK: GIC is done with a Canadian bank but you have to fund it via your personal Dom acct. So yes, if you have a Dom account with a micro finance bank in Naija, you can use that to fund your GIC account. |

My brothers and sisters, Does Canada accepts GIC from micro finance as a POF for student visa? Holuwatoyin201: @Makano, thank you
I don't think this is true.. No school have personal agents for Visa Processing..
Some schools like Fanshawe have agents for just admission purpose but not Visa Processing...

Please, I sent you email. I need the pdf information for study permit. Thanks Toceen2022: If you are self-sponsor, then you must show funds that will cover the 2 years of study, including living expenses.
But if someone is sponsoring you, according to IRCC, they must show that funds are available for your first year of study and be able to show that you will have an equivalent amount for the subsequent year(s); either through their business, payslip, fixed-income, or other acceptable means.
I have a pdf information on study permits' instruction designed by IRCC Dakar office. All these information are inside. You can reach out to me through mail, I'll forward it to you if you need it. |

Congratulations ami213: Long Post Alert!
My fellow Nairalanders! Please felicitate with me because my God is good and kind to me, to him alone be all the glory. I just received my long awaited PPR. VV for the spouse of an international student. I learnt a lot from this forum and it is very imperative I give back.
My first application was submitted June 2021 Resubmitted a new application via the new portal January 9 2022. Refusal letter February 9 2022 (Refused Based on Family ties) I ordered GCMS notes same day. Reapplied February 22 2022 PPR April 7 2022
A refusal letter hits differently, I was devastated because I thought I had a strong and convincing application. It took me about 2 weeks to get myself to write a new LOE and SOP.
A sweetheart on this platform @mzjanez01 reached out to me and advised I reapply without the notes. She was kind to share how her husband tackled his refusal reasons as well. Jane, you are far too kind oh! Thanks for all the prayers and kind words.
My GCMS notes arrived on the 12th of March, it seems to be the shortest GCMS notes have seen. The VO wrote that “ applicant has strong family ties in Canada”. To be honest, I was disappointed because I was expecting a more detailed notes. (I kuku report the VO to God) Luckily for me the VO concern has been addressed in the new application.
What i did to Tackle the refusal reason based on family ties? I strengthened my HOME TIES. Having surfed through YouTube and Other forums, I realized that no one knows your story more than YOU when it comes to addressing Home/Family Ties. I explained my responsibilities to my parent, I wrote extensively about how important my career in Nigeria is, my personal business and ongoing projects.
Aside being an employee of a reputable agency, I further explained my other commitments and responsibilities that will make me return back to Nigeria and I supported my explanations with valid documents. Although the commitments were briefly mentioned in the first application but this time it was detailed and I connected how my absence will affect each of them. I included more documents to support each claim unlike the first application. To be honest, it wasn’t by the documents but God was fully involved. I think Baba God was tired of me murmuring my application number every morning and night, hence the PPR. lol!
The wait for PPR isnt for the faint hearted especially when you see people who applied after you sharing their timelines (e go come be like say na only you waka come). God of NLP answers prayer, I prayed and fasted fervently for this PPR. Chail! IRCC messed with my mental health. The plan was to visit my spouse after his first academic year but I couldn’t because of the pandemic. As it is, the visa got approved just in time for convocation (graduation is this summer) although Graduation wasn’t stated for purpose of visit, it was plainly “family reunification “
May this kind of joy go round. To all PPR hopefuls, it is just a delay not a denial.
(PS: I typed this timeline on the 22nd of March 2022 during my leisure time)
Documents Submitted: Statement of Purpose letter LOE on FAMILY TIES. Marriage Certificate Notarized copy of Marriage Certificate. Affidavit for change of maiden name. Family Images. Birth certificate Letter of Introduction from my Employer. Employment Letter. Assumption of Duty Letter. Confirmation of Employment Letter. Last Promotion Letter. Four months’ pay slips. Bank Statements for Naira Account. Bank Statements for US Dollar Account. Bank reference letter Reference letter from my pension fund administrator. Pension account statements and certificate Police Character Certificate. Land deeds of agreement. Some other property documents. Passport information page. Covid Vaccination card. CAC documents Article of association and memorandum And some other business documents. |

How does IRCC calculate it if your program is 1 year? Do they calculate it that you must pay half of the tuition fees or you are still required to pay the full 1 year even when your program is 1 year? Toceen2022: First of all... Besides your tuition, you calculated $5700 for hostel and another $10,000 too. You've over-calculated your expenses.
If your tuition is $11k, what you need next is $10k for living expenses. That is $21k for a year.
Now, according to IRCC site, if your program is 2 year, you only need to show funds for the first year and state how the second year will be taken care of. Either by business, regular salary or other income. But you need to convince the VO with documents to support that.
Concerning your Dad's account, it depends on how you give strong evidence of what your Dad does. You may pay for 1st semester and make sure you have some money in your account. If your Dad is into business, proof that there are steady money to take care of you especially if your program is 2 years.
With that you may be lucky enough and satisfied the VO with your convincing statement and documents |
