Though am planning to raise more money to see if I can get up to 7m because am trying to target Norway but use south Africa as a back if am unable to raise such money since the exchange rate keep up soaring everyday....Seems I will need more than 3m if I add other miscellaneous expenses to it.

If your study is 1 year full time, you rent room of R2000 or below and you don't live big life, then, 3m is fine. Because 3m in SA is currently around R100000....and with that amount, after deducting tuition fees, accommodation for 1 year and feeding, nothing will be left....don't forget other miscellaneous expenses.

Visa denied. Reason : Forged bank statement, south africa is a bleeped up country. Forgerd bank statement wow! That bank statement was printed out at the bank that same day and was signed and stamped.

I guess my son and i would just continue living here in nigeria. Becaause i would never waste a dime on that shitty country again! Forged bank statement lolz! Such flimzy Reason!

Are you getting visa undergraduate or postgraduate? How many years of study?

Your account balance must cover duration of your study, accommodation, feeding, tuition and maintenance. The immigration officer will consider you are not going to work to support your study, so provide balance that will proof you are capable of supporting your self.

The problem now is that Kenya airways asks for proof of payment for 7 days quarantine before you can be allowed to board from SA.

You don't need to panic this was weeks ago; I heard things have changed now. A colleague went home last week ,he didn't pay any money , he was told to drop his passport for 7 days. However, the guy maneuver his ways to get his passport.

Kenya airways is your best shot. Or Qatar if you are flying from Capetown and you don't mind the long journey.

I don't know when restrictions will be revised but I know they can't keep up this energy in a peak travel period like December. Just keep an eye out for info. I just know that as SA ramps up vaccinations, more countries will open up to SA. Dubai and a few others already lifted SA restrictions.

Even the airlines are more reasonable now . Only show your proof of payments for your 7days post arrival covid test and also a negative result from SA.

In recent times, many pple are no longer paying useless 500k for any quarantine, especially if they have proof of vaccination.

People land in Lagos, sort themselves out at the airport and leave the airport with their passport.

Be smart and prepared sha. Money for hand. Those officials don't care about covid. They just want to make money off the rules stated by the govt. I know at least 5 people who have traveled in the past one week and they all sorted themselves. And as more pple get vaccinated in SA, it is expected that the ridiculous restrictions will be revised.

1. You do not pay 14 days. You pay for 7 days.
2. Airlines now only required you to pay for arrival PCR test and 7 days post-arrival test to board the plane.

PR is Permanent residence permit.

If you have it in SA, the sky is limit because you can get everything you want and your normal enjoyable life.

Easier way to get PR is through study under critical skill and after you graduate, you apply immediately.

You can't get ajl job, forget it. The only chance you have to get a job is when you are study with PR, then you have higher chance to scholarship, bursary and award that is even enough for you to live your life comfortable here...and you can get graduate job. This is what many do here, that with money they give you, you won't bother to look for job....

Even Nigerian doctors in SA are leaving SA for Canada, Uk and Australia. You are a young doctor. Look for another country. Not trying to discourage you but today's SA is different has they hardly issue critical skills visa anymore because of high unemployment rates.

Its much easier if you are in SA already on a study visa or you finished a post grad already in SA.

Does SA need doctors? Yes they really do. Give it a shot if you have a lot of patience but weigh your options and dont let SA hold your passport for months while blocking you from applying to other countries.
