When it comes to multinationals, could you mention any Nigerian multinationals controlled from Nigeria in East Africa. Because I came to find out (and many Nigerians in Kenya can tell you) that the likes of UBA Kenya,GT Bank Kenya and Ecobank Kenya are not linked to the Nigerian banks at all!! GTBank Kenya for example is not fully owned by the mother bank but has Kenyan shareholders apparently.
And BTW, very few African companies can crack the Kenyan market. South Africa has tried, All of them from Nandos to Tesco to Massmart left the country .All the three nigerian banks above are in the bottom 10 in terms of size in Kenya.
On the other hand, we do have Kenyan multinationals all across East and Central Africa. Kenol Kobil operates as far as Zambia(Even used to be in Zimbabwe, before Mugabe started his ruckus), KCB bank is the largest bank by assets in East and Central Africa. b)Other credible sources such as the AfDB have shown that that Kenya's size of the middle class and the poor class is roughly equal in size
