budaatum: Tinubu recently went for care at Saint Mary's in Paddington, which is a NHS hospital, and King's in Denmark Hill, a NHS hospital, admits international fee paying patients at £500 a bed a night (2016 prices).
They do both have private wings I do admit, and Tinubu was not served NHS, but the same doctors serve both private and NHS patients in both hospitals.
That said, the article is talking more about emergency arrivals, and it's not as dire as is being made out if Nigerian standards are considered where more die. It's worse Bro. A friend told me she's had a 3weeks appointment to see the Doctor. You can't just walk in to see a Doctor the same way we do here in Nigeria. Private hospital are too expensive |

dettolgel: I think even your own logic went over your head
You said he is at liberty to mourn the way he wants and you wont get in the way of that.
What if his way of mourning is 'to bully and shut others up"? By your own logic you asking him not to do that is equivalent to you telling him how to mourn, you see the problem in that your logic? So bullying others is mourning? |

Going by your logic he is also mourning the counter coup and you can't tell him not to tag it Hausa-Fulani coup can you? So you are trying to guilt him into mourning the way you want him to mourn? He can mourn as much and in anyway he want, I didn't and will never have objections to him on that. So also let him allow others mourn in peace and not shut them down When you see the list of Igbos and other officers killed in the counter coup, is it any better? |

dettolgel: He isn't bullying them not to cry or mourn their dead or not to talk about but not to tag it an Igbo coup. And that if you tag it an Igbo coup you should also tag the counter coup as Hausa-Fulani coup. Unless there is something I am missing? How do you tell those mourning how to mourn. They are crying over those who killed their loved ones, just the way the love ones of other coups cries at each anniversary the way they felt. Shouting them down or telling them what to say only open the wound the more. Fact is fact you can't wish it a way. We all as a country should move on. |

mightyhaze: Coup is coup and coup is bad . But why do imbeciles keep trying to hang an Igbo tag on it?
A coup that has all 3 tribes as participants and victims? If not Igbo hating?
Igbo coup? As if an Igbo umbrella body came together and endorsed a coup.. A coup that was resisted and eventually put down by other Igbo officers (col. Unaegbe even died doing this)..Ojukwu and Ironside almost also lost their lives resisting it.the more u guys stress it the dumber and brain dead u sound You can tell those who are victims not to cry. You can shut those who lost dear one not to talk. The more you attempt to bully people from talking about it, them more you strengthen their resolve to keep it going |

Your Igbo hating effort is at best amusing The more you guys make this argument, the more you make matter worse, without the 15th January 1966, there won't be the Muritala Coup. |

Politics › Re: January 15th 1966 Coup Is The Only Time Nigerians Remember Coup Is Bad by Lifestone(m): 9:36pm On Jan 15, 2025 |
gidgiddy: In the history of Nigeria, there were 8 coups: Nzeogwu coup, Murtala Mohammed Coup1, Murtala Mohammed Coup 2, Dimka coup, Buhari coup, Babangida's coup, Orkah coup and Abacha coup. Some of these coups were very bloody, some were bloodless while some had minimal casualties. What all these coups have in common was that the ring leaders of each of them were usually from a particular part of the country
The Nzeogwu claimed about 20 lives, however, it is only the Nzeogwu that has ethnic tag. It is the only coup some unscrupulous Nigerians remember. Mohammeds coup is not a 'Hausa coup', Buhari's coup is never a 'Fulani coup', Babangida's coup is never a 'Gwari coup', Abachas coup is never a 'Kanuri coup'
Remarkably, Nigeria has a terrible history of honouring coup plotters. Murtala Mohammed killed over 300 people in his coup including the military head of State, Ironsi, and Military Governor of the Western Region, Fajuyi. That same Murtala Mohammed was giving the special honour of being put on the N20 note, had Nigerias busiest Airport named after him, has highways and buildings named after him, all for being a successful coup plotter
Despite the fact that Muhammadu Buhari overthrew the democratically elected regime of Shagari, Nigerians later elected Buhari President
Like Ironsi, Obasanjo put down a bloody coup and seized power, the same Obasanjo was later elected President
Babangida seized power in a military coup, that same Babangida is still a very influential and wealthy man in in Nigeria and holds numerous national honours
Despite having a long history of honouring coup plotters, the only time Nigerians remember that coup is a bad thing is with January 15th 1966 coup, so they can call it 'Igbo coup' You said it all. Igbo coup |

MightySparrow: Thanks for your observation. I read the most part of the book. Well presented but poorly researched. He wrote his book from the standpoint of the oyos. It would have been better if he had gotten the history of the component parts. Which other parts of Yoruba people apart from the Oyo subgroup accept his claims? Is there are Christian write-up in Iledi in Ile Ifẹ? I researched into Gogobiri history, the is no link between them and Yorubas. There's however, a link between Oyo and Nupe via Oranmiyan. If you have any concrete evidence from the Gogobiri side please post it.
The history from Ife people themselves as it is being told is different from those in the Samuel Johnson's book is different. No matter how long and far a book has traveled, the mentality and history. So what's your alternative fact. Johnson did his best without whom, Yorubas would not have had any written history as early as he wrote. No civilization evolution is perfect. The question now is what is the present generation doing. Are we writing current history? So much questions for you and me as Yoruba |

Namaster: I have commented EXHAUSTIVELY on the perils of marrying or dating a single mother.
Check my profile for them.
But the summary is that single mothers are BAD NEWS.
They are FIT to fuuuccck because their bastards are walking testaments to their LOOSENESS. They CANNOT form when you have evidence they had been viciously RAWDOGGED in the past.
They are UNFIT for dating or marriage because, again, their bastards are walking testaments to their LOOSENESS.
Single-motherhood also points to a LOW IQ and STUPIDITY.
Because said woman not only CHOSE an irresponsible man who was willing to ABANDON his child. But ALSO chose to fuccck him WITHOUT condoms or other forms of birth control.
That stupidity would be a TAINT in the gene pool if both of you have children. Dumber kids will result.
There is a reason a LOT of the children of single mothers end up as Yahoo Boys and Hookup girls (future single mothers).
It's NOT just about the upbringing, or lack thereof, but also the STUPIDITY and IRRESPONSIBILITY inherent in their genes asserting themselves.
Also WHEN the father eventually shows up, the child you raised with your money, time and energy will DISCARD you without a second thought.
Chances are equally high the mother will do the same.
Fuccck her, if you must. But NEVER marry a single mother! Why are you so hateful? |

DeLaRue: Once all the Development Commission for each region is fully established, maintenance of federal roads within each region should be handed over to each region's Commission.
The idea that 4 or 5 ogas sitting at the Ministry of Works in Abuja can effectively oversee maintenance of federal roads all over the country is unrealistic.
It will never work effectively.
These works should be overseen by Development Commissions which will be closer to the people and know what is happening to roads within their respective regions.
Imagine each Development Commission having an annual spending allocation of N1 trillion each, development will be faster across all regions.
I think this is what Mr Tinubu is working towards. A very reasonable template |
