How China helped remove ‘dozing despot’ #Mugabe
By Andrew Malone | Daily Mail |
As he was driven back to his opulent palace in Harare on Tuesday, surrounded by bodyguards in military fatigues and wearing motorcycle helmets, Robert Mugabe had no reason to suspect that his 37-year rule was about to end.
Having been in power since 1980, Mugabe — not to mention Grace, his high-handed, grasping second wife — thought he was invincible. Just days earlier, he beamed with satisfaction at a ceremony to change the name of Zimbabwe’s main airport to the Robert Mugabe International Airport.
He believed he would be president of the former British colony until he died, and had once proclaimed ‘not even God’ wanted his murderous reign to end. His wife, meanwhile, had called for a Mugabe family ‘dynasty’ to run the country for ever.
But what neither knew that sunny afternoon was that Mugabe’s loyal presidential guard had been swapped for military personnel who were in league with his enemies — the very generals who had previously been loyal to the despot since he came to power after the bush war against white rule.
The first sign of any trouble was when Mugabe’s convoy arrived at his home in a suburb of the capital city, and the men accompanying him arrested the security officers on duty there.
The 93-year-old president was then hustled into the house and, a short time later, the man in charge of Zimbabwe’s armed forces arrived to break some rather bad news to Mugabe.
A fearsome individual known for his volcanic temper, General Constantino Chiwenga is one of the so-called ‘Dirty Half Dozen’ — six sinister military and intelligence chiefs whose junta has kept Mugabe in office for decades, terrorising opponents and rigging elections.
Bluntly, Chiwenga told Mugabe he was under arrest. Without uttering a word, Mugabe promptly collapsed to the floor.
‘He was in shock, and collapsed when he realised what was happening,’ one coup plotter told me. ‘He had to be resuscitated and revived. He could not believe what was happening at first.’
Grace — with whom the president had begun an affair after spotting her in his typing pool when he was still married to his first wife — was terrified. She was hysterical and burst into tears.
According to one who was told about the unfolding events: ‘She’s been in a mess ever since — in tears and mentally gone. She begged to be allowed to fly out to Malaysia [where she has millions in investments]. She thought she would be killed.’
After being revived — Mugabe has a history of fainting fits and falling asleep at Cabinet meetings — the president and the general began a tense discussion. By then, dozens of other senior army personnel had arrived at the presidential palace.
Realising how perilous his position was, Mugabe made an astonishing bid to save his own political skin — and possibly his life.
Incredibly, he promised General Chiwenga he would anoint him the next president if he called off the coup and stood down as the head of the armed forces..
In a last desperate throw of the dice to cling to power, he told Chiwenga that he would immediately be appointed Mugabe’s vice-president and that he would take over as Zimbabwe’s leader when Mugabe eventually dies.
Even then, Mugabe, a sly old fox who has long played factions off each other to remain in power, had one condition: that Grace should have a prominent role in a future government. General Chiwenga flatly turned down the offer.
Apart from anything else, it was too late by then. More than 30 army personnel carriers and 21 tanks had earlier in the day moved into key strategic locations. Mugabe loyalists, in the police and military, had been ordered back to barracks 24 hours earlier and prevented from leaving.
The truth is that Mugabe had sealed his own fate. His mistake was to bow to pressure from Grace — who wanted to take over as president after his death — to purge her rivals for the crown.
Those on her list of enemies in particular included a man called Emmerson Mnangagwa, a veteran of the bush war and the man who believed it was his destiny to take power.
Known as ‘Ngwenya’ — or The Crocodile — Mnangagwa was for decades one of Mugabe’s closest allies, running his fearsome intelligence wing as well as being in charge of defence, before being appointed vice-president in 2014.
Grace believed Mnangagwa was her only rival for power — and made a decisive move against him last week, stripping him of his vice-presidency, and calling for her rival’s demise.
‘A snake is better dealt with by crushing the head,’ Grace told a political rally less than two weeks ago. Mnangagwa’s ‘head must be crushed. I will personally make sure Mnangagwa is dealt with even if everyone else in the party is scared. I will not be intimidated.’
Mugabe and Grace also accused Mnangagwa of using ‘witchcraft’ against them.
But Mrs Mugabe chose the wrong man to fight. An architect of the so-called Gukurahundi massacres in the Eighties, in which more than 20,000 from the Ndebele tribe were brutally slaughtered because of their allegiance to an opposition party, Mnangagwa commands huge support in the army and among war veterans.
After his summary sacking a few days ago, fearing he would be arrested or killed by Mugabe loyalists, The Crocodile tried to flee Zimbabwe.
He and his security detail were denied entry to Harare airport, so he could not fly out from there. Mnangagwa and his allies then tried to charter a private jet to arrive from South Africa to pick him up — but Mugabe’s authorities denied the craft permission to enter Zimbabwean airspace.
So The Crocodile and his men were forced to drive east and cross into neighbouring Mozambique via old smuggling routes used by bush fighters. From there, he headed to South Africa.
In secret conversations with his army comrades, Mnangagwa decided to activate a plan they had mapped out to remove the ageing Mugabe from power.
The coup would be carried out in Zimbabwe — but it was made in China..
For I can reveal that, after secret telephone discussions with his ally General Chiwenga back in Zimbabwe, Mnangagwa boarded another aircraft — this time headed for Beijing. He was to be a guest of the Chinese government.
Around the same time, General Chiwenga informed Mugabe he had routine business in China, which has supported Mugabe’s regime for years with cash and weapons in return for access to its lucrative diamond mines and other minerals.
He also flew out to Beijing.
So it was that Mnangagwa and Chiwenga discussed their plans with Chinese officials. It’s instructive to learn that both men had been trained at China’s Nanjing Military School.
The two Zimbabweans had also been the architects of many of the lucrative deals struck between China and Harare, including a multi-billion-pound diamond mining deal, which could have made the country rich, but instead was riddled with rampant corruption, with some £15 billion believed to have been pilfered in one year alone.
In truth, the Chinese do not really care who is in charge of Zimbabwe — as long as their business and strategic interests are taken care of.
It is part of China’s African-wide strategy of propping up corrupt regimes in return for access to the minerals and oil the Chinese need to supply their vastly expanding economy.
Beijing had long feared that Mugabe’s refusal to anoint his successor would mean there could be chaos once he died, threatening their investments which, significantly, include a £100 million new spy college in Harare for Zimbabwe’s ruling party.
So began a global power play against Mugabe, known as ‘the Old Man’ throughout Zimbabwe. With the Chinese pledging to back the new regime after the coup, both American and Russian intelligence were also told of the plans.
Diplomatic sources claim the Americans were happy for Mugabe to be replaced as long as there was no bloodshed, and a smooth transition to the new regime. (Britain, scandalously, had helped prop up Mugabe for years over fears of instability if he was ousted, having helped to install him in 1980.)
With key global players in agreement, the secret strategy to deal with Mugabe — which The Crocodile was told must appear to the world not to be a coup — was activated. Military forces were recalled to barracks; a list of prominent Mugabe cronies and their whereabouts was produced.
Meanwhile, General Chiwenga flew back from China and held a meeting with Mugabe on Monday night — 24 hours before the military action began. He warned the president that the ‘purges’ against his wife’s rivals must end.
Not realising the scale of the threat, Grace, who was present at the meeting, was furious. She told the general that she and her husband would have him fired and replaced as head of the army by the leader of the presidential guard.
Once again, Grace’s hectoring aggression only served to spur her enemies to action. So it was that tanks rolled through the streets of Harare this week.
While Mugabe and Grace were placed under house arrest, military units swooped and arrested key loyalists such as Jonathan Moyo, Mugabe’s higher education minister, and Ignatius Chombo, his finance chief, who was discovered trying to pack $10 million in banknotes into bags when he was seized.
Along with police chiefs loyal to Mugabe, these men are now being held at secret military detention facilities around the country and face prosecution and long jail terms in some of Zimbabwe’s most gruesome penal institutions.
Yet what none of the plotters were prepared for was Mugabe’s refusal to step down.
The plan was that, having reinstated The Crocodile as his vice-president, he would be compelled to announce his resignation, leaving his rival to take over.
However, during hours of discussions with his captors this week, Mugabe has refused offers to be flown out of the country, or provided with state security and allowed to live quietly in Zimbabwe. But then he is deeply stubborn and still cannot imagine giving up his position or privileges.
Anxious to adhere to China’s insistence that there should be no violence, and despite calls by some hardline opponents to kill the president and his wife, the generals have not harmed Mugabe, or Grace, who remains under house arrest with her husband in Harare, in spite of reports that she had fled to neighbouring Namibia.
‘We cannot hold a gun to his head,’ one military source told me. ‘As the days have gone by, he has become more and more argumentative. He says what the generals are doing is against the constitution and that they are the ones causing instability. He is getting rather hot-headed.’
So what now for poor, benighted Zimbabwe, which has gone from being the breadbasket of Africa to an economic basketcase?
Supporters of The Crocodile, who returned to Zimbabwe on Thursday, remain confident they can persuade Mugabe to stand down in the coming days, particularly given the fragile mental state of his wife.
Then, if he does stand down, this will be presented as a smooth transition to a new government of national unity.
As for Mugabe, his one remaining hope is that other African cronies will step in to save him. Fearing military interventions against their own corrupt regimes, figures such as South Africa’s Jacob Zuma and Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni have described the coup as unconstitutional, with Zuma sending envoys to meet Mugabe and the ‘coup leaders’ on Thursday.
As part of a complicated, elaborate charade, The Crocodile and his generals even allowed Mugabe out to attend a university graduation ceremony in Harare yesterday — before he was returned to house arrest with Grace.
It appears Mugabe was allowed to attend the event to give the appearance at least that he is not the victim of a coup.
But by last night, all of the Zimbabwean provinces that once supported Mugabe had called for his resignation, meaning the former president can be recalled to government and compelled to stand down. ‘The Croc trained as a lawyer,’ one loyalist told me. ‘He’s smart and wants the military coup to be seen as a political coup.’
For the first time in living memory, the new military leaders have given permission for a huge march planned for today in Harare, which is expected to be attended by tens of thousands calling for Mugabe to step down, signalling new freedoms.
Previous attempts at protest have been crushed by Mugabe’s police. This is all intended to show the international community that the people of Zimbabwe want Mugabe gone.
Fearing outside military intervention, not to mention a fightback from Mugabe loyalists, the military leaders here have set up army road blocks around the country, with searches carried out of all vehicles for weapons or suspected enemies of the new regime.
As part of the attempts to make the coup not appear to be a coup, the military on the streets have been told to win hearts and minds. Whereas Mugabe’s police were allowed to extract bribes from motorists, the soldiers I met at more than a dozen roadblocks this week were professional and polite.
After years of poverty and brutality under Mugabe’s regime, most people here are celebrating his downfall, even though there are fears the new regime will be just as bad, albeit with a new leader.
‘We have got rid of a snake and replaced it with a new snake,’ said Gibson Lovemore, a street vendor.
‘But we wanted rid of the old man and need change. This has gone on too long.’
As darkness fell on Zimbabwe last night, and thunder and lightning crackled around the capital, the future of the country hung in the balance. But one thing seems clear. The monstrous despot who has ruled with an iron fist for so long is still refusing to give up.

A group of Nigerians on Tuesday, November 21, marched to the Presidential Villa to celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian army for the successes made against Boko Haram terrorist organization.
These Nigerians under the aegis of Coalition for Peace and Stability marched from Unity Fountain to the popular Wuse Market where the paralysed activities in the market before heading to the Presidential Villa.
The group’s national coordinator, Abdulmumini Tijani, said the military with the support of President Buhari has succeeded in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria.

It is remarkable that keeping this promise has international impact because the global terrorism related deaths fell since the figures for Nigeria dropped.

“We also expect that those supporting evil by providing sustenance to Boko Haram will see this report as reason to cut off the lifeline they provide to terrorists. Human life is precious and sacred and nothing should be done to cut it short for whatsoever reason.
“Our coalition not only congratulate President Buhari on this positive report but also commend Mr President for this achievement considering that most of the efforts that have gone into degrading and defeating Boko Haram are homegrown.

He also urged other civil society groups, nongovernmental organizations and well meaning Nigerians to increase their support of President Buhari’s war on terror because our desire is to record zero terrorism related deaths.
Receiving the group at the Presidential Villa, the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu thanked the group for their support to the anti-terrorism war of the current government.
Shehu said such is the kind of support the government needs as it works round the clock to ensure a terror-free Nigeria.
“This is the kind of support the government need at the critical time,” a visibly elated Shehu said.
“I must assure you that the president is not relenting on his words that Nigeria must be free from terrorism.
“In fact, our gallant military troops are working day and night to ensure that all our towns and villages are captured from the extremists. As I speak, I can boldly tell you that no local government in Nigeria is under the control of the insurgents.
“Our soldiers are also helping to combat terrorism in neigbouring countries.
“That goes a long way to tell you that the government is keeping to its promise on war against insurgency,” he added.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that the recent Global Terrorism Index report said that Boko Haram killings has reduced in Nigeria by 80%.
The report also said Nigeria still occupied the same ranking it did in 2015 and 2016.
The Institute for Economics & Peace which released the report said the GTI monitored and measured impacts of terrorism in 163 countries, which covers 99.7 per cent of the world’s population.

Tinubu is very stubborn onlinenigeria.com
– Oba Rilwan Akiolu has spoken about the future of the All Progressives Congress (APC), especially concerning 2019
– Oba Akiolu said the ruling party will remain victorious against all odds
– He further reiterated Chief Olusegun Obasanjo‘s description of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as stubborn
The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will remain in power in 2019 as it would emerge victorious at the forthcoming elections.
The first-class traditional ruler therefore urged Nigerians to continue to work towards this success as the ruling party cannot be eased out so soon.
Oba Akiolu further called the national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a stubborn man but added that this is for the right reason.
The Nation reports that the monarch hailed Tinubu’s strength and vision and for always standing on the side of the people.
Speaking further at the fund-raising for Oyo state Education Trust Fund (Oyo ETF) in Ibadan, Akiolu further said Tinubu always has his backing on political moves.
According to him, Tinubu remains a visionary leader who stands for what is right and the interest of the people and this was why former President Olusegun Obasanjo described the former Lagos governor as ‘stubborn’.
“Obasanjo always says Tinubu is stubborn. Yes, he is, but that is for the right reasons because he enjoys my support.
“Tinubu stands with the people. And whether anybody likes it or not, he is a force to reckon with in Nigerian politics today,” he said.

“Let me tell you all: no party will wrest power from the APC. I’m not hiding it. God chose Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and he has our support.
“But things must be put right at the Federal level. Let everyone do good and stand for honesty,” he added.
NAIJ.com earlier reported Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo as saying that only two politicians are against President Muhammadu Buhari contesting for presidency in 2019 and urged them to change their minds.
The Imo state governor spoke at the government House, Owerri, when members of Democratic Youth Congress (DYC) for Buhari paid him a visit. http://www.onlinenigeria.com/site/stories/398635-tinubu-is-very-stubborn-oba-akiolu-of-lagos-makes-critical-decision-on-2019-election.html |

Christianity Etc › Why pastor Chris Oyakhilome marriage crash ( lessons for others) by lightblazingnow(op): 6:06pm On Nov 21, 2017*. Modified: 12:06pm On Dec 19, 2018 |
Straight away, these write up isn't meant to castigate anyone or bring pastor Chris into judgement, but to obey the divine voice which has instructed us to take it up from here, knowing what will happen after now.
Most people isn't aware that Nairaland is one of the major news center not only in Africa, Nigeria, but all over the world, and this information outlet is being accessed by both the mighty and the small. Everyone is looking for news blog posts and a major happening forums which brings up to date information of the happening around the world, and Nairaland fits in the quest.
And so I put it to all of you that pastor Chris and so many of them may not be a member of Nairaland forum, but frequently come to Nairaland to see what is happening in Nigeria and around the world. Nairaland thanks for the platform.
And so, that's why we're writing this to show pastor Chris why his marriage crashed and what he could do to regain himself from the fall. Most people think that just because someone preaches the word of God Almighty powerfully and exhibits a sound knowledge of Christ Jesus and of God Almighty makes such individual a master in life, or infallible. Oh no, everyone is subject to temptations, we are always tempted, to prove our sonship. The word of God Almighty is to be obeyed. Not just to be preached and demonstrated to others, you must be rooted.
James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations; 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God Almighty, that gives to all men liberally, and upbraids not; and it shall be given him.
1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man: 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
1:15 Then when lust have conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death. 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
1:18 Of his own will God Almighty begot us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 1:20 For the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God. 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
1:22 But be you doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 1:24 For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and straightway forgets what manner of man he was.
1:25 But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. Bam.
The excellent word of God Almighty is to be practiced, not to use as playing ground, or for fun.
I believe pastor Chris is reading these and pastor Anita too, you know exactly what I saying, I am encouraging you to turn from your wrongs and run to God Almighty, he will abundantly pardon you and restore you again.
Why did the marriage got broken, pastor Chris sir, your marriage got broken because you became very bitter against your precious lovely wife Anita. Now someone may say just that, yes this in fact is what the Almighty God commanded the man never to allow himself to get to the point where he is bitter against his wife. If the man does this, his marriage will eventually crash.
Colossians 3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
How did we know he became bitter against her, simple, very simple, read what the man said about his wife and that sum it up
Pastor Chris said some unpleasant things about Anita while he addressed his pastors in the United Kingdom.
He told the pastors: “Bitterness is prolonged and accumulated anger. My wife is always angry and bitter.”
He further condemned the attitude of the wife for seeing herself as an equal. According to Chris, “Some pastors’ wives think when they marry a pastor, they are equals to the pastors.
My wife thinks so. As a matter of fact, Rev. Tom was her pastor before I married her and Rev. Ray and Evang. Owase were her leaders long before I married her. How come she thinks she’s senior to them now?”
“I already started Christ Embassy before I married her. I didn’t marry her and said we should start Christ Embassy. I was already pastoring. I already set my sail and knew my direction before I married her. I only said come and help me.”
What ugly words from the man who was lifted because of grace and love of his master, and here doesn't want to be ruled by CHRIST standard.
He became very bitter and began acting against the word he preaches. Most people had come out to disagree with him, especially those who knew pastor Anita better, One of the founding member has this to say about her,
Cyla Simpson wrote:
“I am writing this to everyone with a heavy heart. It is heart wrenching to see the way people are referring to Rev Anita and how uncultured people are while talking. You don’t need to be derogatory or condescending to express yourself no matter your level as a christian. First I would join true Christians around the world to appeal to Rev Anita but would say listen to God rather than man.
“I want to appeal to everyone to please pause and think deep because whatever a man sow, he shall surely reap. This is like beating a child like Ibo elders will say and still take the tears from the child. Take a step aside and think. Is there a woman who will give up her home on flimsy excuse, if no why are we so callous and insensitive in this matter. I am a married woman and so are many reading this, or you have a mother, a sister or daughter. If you are happy for them to go through whatever brought Rev Anita to this level please continue with your judgemental approach towards her. And the God of truth will visit everyone with same except if there was no cause. Amen!!!
“I have read some accusing her of money and power motivation. PLEASE LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE PASTOR ANITA I KNOW AS MOST OF YOU YOUNG ONES IN NIGERIA DO NOT HAVE MUCH OF AN ENCOUNTER WITH HER. Rev Anita has been my pastor for about 13 years now. I am one of the founding members of her church and I have seen her grow a church from using all any available venue while planting more churches in faith sending her best member out to start a new church, from two churches in England has grown to churches in almost every borough and cities. Rev Anita will see anyone and everyone regardless of your status."
“If she ever kept you waiting, she will apologise profusely throughout the meeting and make it good to you. Rev Anita without an office will still counsel us even in her car on Wednesday night after church yet she has 1hour 30mins drive back home with 2 young girls. For so long she was driving a volkswagon golf until 2005 that we bought her a BMW X3 and she still refused to drive it for many months until she was begged to use it so that we can be blessed. She used the same car until 2010/2011 and the replacement she had then is still what she used till her last day in church last year."
“We begged her to come around for us to celebrate her birthday but she will still go into hiding. On her return the little song we will do for her, she will return it to Rev Chris in thanksgiving. Any money you give her she sends it straight to church account or Loveworld TV. If we ever raise money for her birthday she ask us to go and use it for evangelism or send it to Loveworld TV. When you give her any material thing, regardless of the shop you purchased it, she will use it for you to see and thank you as long as she sees you for the gift."
“At Christmas, while service was on up to 2013 christmas she will give almost everyone in church gift. Foodstuff will be dropped at your side as service. She will specially take care of the elderly, help you settle down when you arrive in the country. No barren left without children as she will make it her project until it happens. So how come people came up with this terrible accusation. You accused her of being rude to some CEC members. Wow. This is wicked. First for so long, she was the Vice President and others have other positions. I thought husband and wife are one."
“She raised 2 girls in this society and the 2 girls are admirable, humble, down-to-earth children. They are children not a reflection of the home they grew. Pastor Chris was not around. He came to our church on Fathers’ Day sometimes ago and he told us one of the daughters’ requested for it as her birthday gift – how touching and how she treasures her dad’s presence. She could ask for material thing but she asked for his presence and we all are here judging them. I remember these girls will politely beg me to allow them carry my baby and they will play with him and when they bring him back, they will thank me for letting them carry him and I’m surprised because I should thank them for helping me. And they do same to other mothers in the mothers’ area where we sit in church. Is it not what they saw their mum do, they are not class-freak."
“I remember that visit of Pastor, Rev Tom talking said we may not value what we have. That she is the grace in the CEC. If they all condemn someone, she will see a good reason to embrace the person and she has always been right. Rev Chris said at one IPPC that most changes we see here in the ministry, she in her simple way brought them and that was the day he spoke about how she talked about the effort we put into publicity of programme but that same or more should be put in telling what the Lord did in that programme when its over. So what changed now, because she is asking for a change."
“I have read all the messages here by some writers, the news is all over our church and I have taken my time to find out what is really happening and to the much available, below are the things Rev Anita is asking for:
"She told Rev Chris that you are such an organised person, you give us almost a full year calendar on Dec 31st of every year, please put the family in the timetable too. The times you don’t have any engagement, please come home. I need you and the children need you. Please bear in mind she has been here since 1999 and she was just about 30 years old then as a married woman with 2 children. So for almost 16 years of her marriage, no husband at home for straight 1 week, no dad at home for the children. No christmas, yet he has party with the staff that we all watch at Christmas. Even Jesus always withdrew from the crowd to fellowship with his father."
"She asked Rev Chris that on hearing of the immorality, ‘not holding it against you but let all these ladies move out of White House and go and get houses outside. They are rich enough to buy houses at their place of choice if they don’t already have one and allow them marry. Who benefits from this choice, is it not everyone? So which is her offence in this. And Rev Chris did not agree to it. The brothers even said they went to have meeting with him in South Africa to beg him to at least meet her half-way but he refused. 2 public responses are the emergency Bible study after their meeting with him titled – Spirit of Error and Spirit of Truth, please flash back at this meeting or relisten to it and after so much call in the UK for him to produce our mother, he had meeting with our pastors and deacons in May and it is recorded that many left the meeting weeping for the way he described our mother that some have had lifetime experience with.”
But you see, when you are bitter against your wife, there is nothing good you will see in her, why because you have fallen from grace, you did exactly what your master asked you not to, and what makes you think you will escape harm, this is what is happening to our dear man of God Almighty.
To help you more pastor Chris,
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself.
5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord the church:
5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. ( Why divide your selves pastor Chris )
5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
For me, this is a model, I never want to let go of such amazing letters from the desk of God Almighty, and I have enjoyed my marriage for the past twelve years and counting. I will never be bitter against my wife, and I encourage everyone here married never to be bitter against your own self - wife. It will eventually destroy your marriage.
I pray that as you read this book, you will hear and be converted quickly. God Almighty loves you pastor Chris.

2019 Presidency: We Won’t Endorse Buhari – U.S Govt thewhistler.ng
The United States Government has said it would not meddle in Nigeria’s choice of leader in the 2019 presidential elections.
John Sullivan, the U.S Deputy Secretary of State, said at the end of the US-Nigeria Bi-national Commission in Abuja, that the U.S will neither endorse President Muhammadu Buhari nor any presidential candidate in the elections.
“What we want to do, is to ensure to the extent that we can assist, free and fair elections and we won’t pick those candidates,” Sullivan said.
“We won’t pick any candidate, we won’t endorse any candidate, we want to support the Nigerian people and democracy in Nigeria,
“Any statement by the United States, in the events of the 2019 elections, would be in support of the Nigerian people and democracy in Nigeria and not in support of any particular candidate.
“We want free and fair elections, we are not picking candidates, the Nigerian people should pick their candidates and choose among them and make the final choice for themselves,” he said. https://thewhistler.ng/amp/story/2019-presidency-wont-endorse-buhari-u-s-govt |

Full Text of Robert Mugabe''s speech to Zimbabweans - INFORMATION NIGERIA informationng.com
Ousting Zimbabwe President, Robert Mugabe addressed the nation last night. Here is that controversial speech in full.
Fellow Zimbabweans, I address you tonight on the back of a meeting I held today with the nation’s security forces command element.
This meeting which was facilitated by a mediating team… followed an operation mounted by the Zimbabwean Defence Forces in the week that has gone by, and which was triggered by concerns from their reading of the state of affairs in our country and in the ruling Zanu-PF party.
Whatever the pros and cons of the way they went about registering those concerns, I as the President of Zimbabwe and as their Commander in Chief do acknowledge the issues they have drawn my attention to, and do believe these were raised in the spirit of honesty and out of deep and patriotic concern for the stability of our nation and for the welfare of our people.
As I address you I am also aware of a whole range of concerns which have come from you all as citizens of our great country and which deserve our untrammelled attention.
Today’s meeting with the command element has underscored the need for us to collectively start processes that return our nation to normalcy so that all our people can go about their business unhindered in an environment of perfect peace and security assured that the law and order prevail as before and endure well into the future.
If there is any one observation we have made and drawn from events of the last week it is the unshakable pedestal upon which rests our state of peace and law and order, amply indicating that as Zimbabweans we are generally a peaceably disposed people and with a given-ness to express our grievances and to resolve our differences ourselves and with a level of dignity and restraint so rare to many other nations. This is to be admired. Indeed such traits must form the path of our national character and personality. Yes, a veritable resource we summon and draw upon in times of vicissitudes.
The operation I have alluded to did not amount to a threat to our well-cherished constitutional order, nor was it a challenge to my authority as head of state and government, not even as commander in chief of the Zimbabwean Defence Forces. To the man, the commend element remained respectful and comported themselves with diktats and mores of constitutionalism. True, a few incidents may have occurred here and there but they are being corrected. I am happy that throughout the short period the pillars of state remained functional. Even happier for me and arising from today’s meeting is a strong sense of collegiality and comradeship now binding the various arms of our security establishment. This should redound to greater peace and offer an abiding sense of security in communities and in our entire nation.
Among the issues discussed is that relating to our economy, which as we all know is going through a difficult patch. Of greater concern to our commanders are the well-founded fears that the lack of unity and commonness of purpose in both party and government was translating into perceptions of inattentiveness to the economy. Open public spats between officials in the party and government exacerbated by multiple conflicting messages from both the party and government made the criticisms levelled at us inescapable.
Amidst all this, flagship projects already adopted by government stood stalled or mired in needless controversies. All this needs to stop as we inaugurate a new work culture and pace which will show a strong sense of purpose and commitment to turning around our economy in terms of our policies. The government remains committed to improving the social and material conditions of the people. Government will soon unveil an entrepreneurial skills and business development program which will empower and unleash gainful projects at our growth points and in rural areas.
Fellow Zimbabweans we are a nation born out of a protracted struggle for national independence. Our roots lie in that epochal struggle whose goals and ideals must guide our present and structure our future.
The tradition of resistance is our collective legacy, whose core tenets must [be] subscribed [to] by all across generations and across times. Indeed these too were a concern of our commanders who themselves were makers of that revolution and often at very tender ages and at great personal peril. We still have in our various communities veterans of that founding struggle who might have found the prevailing management of national and party issues quite alienating. This must be corrected without delay, include ensuring that these veterans continue to play central roles in the lives of our nation. We must all recognise that their participation in the war of liberation exacted lifelong costs that, while hardly repayable, may still be assuaged and ameliorated.
In respect of the party and the party issued raised both by the commanders and by the general membership of Zanu-PF, these too stand acknowledged. They have to be attended to with a great sense of urgency, however I am aware that as a party of liberation, Zanu-PF has over the years written elaborate rules and procedures that guide the operations of all its organs and personnel. Indeed the current criticisms raised against it by the command element and some of its members have arisen from a well-founded perception that the party was stretching or even failing in its own rules and procedures. The way forward thus cannot be based on swapping vying cliques that ride roughshod over party rules and procedures. There has to be a net return to the guiding principles of our party as enshrined in its constitution, which must apply fairly and equitably in all situations and before all members. The era of victimisation and arbitrary decisions must be put behind [us], so as we all embrace a new ethos predicated on the supreme law of our party and nourished by an abiding sense of camaraderie.
To all, there must be a general recognition that Zanu-PF is a party of traditions and has been served by successive generations who are bound together by shared ideals and values, which must continue to reign supreme in our nation.
Hints of inter-generational conflict must be resolved through harmonised melding of old established players as they embrace and welcome new rules through a well-defined sense of hierarchy and succession.
Indeed all these matters will be discussed and settled at the forthcoming Congress within the framework of a clear roadmap that seeks to resolve once and for all any omissions or contradictions that have affected our party negatively. The Congress is due in a few weeks from now. I will preside over its processes, that must not be prepossessed by any acts calculated to undermine it or compromise the outcomes in the eyes of the public.
As I conclude this address I am aware that many developments have occurred in the party or have been championed and done by individuals in the name of the party. Given the failings of the past and the anger these might have triggered in some quarters, such developments are quite understandable, however we cannot be guided by bitterness or vengefulness, both of which would not make us any better party members or any better Zimbabweans. Our hallowed policy of reconciliation which we pronounced in 1980 and through which we reached out to those which occupied and oppressed us for nearly a century and those we had traded fire with in a bitter war surely cannot be unavailable to our own, both in the party and in our nation.
We must learn to forgive and to resolve contradictions, real or perceived, in a comradely Zimbabwean spirit. I am confident that from tonight our whole nation at all levels gets refocused as we put our shoulder to the wheel amidst the promising agricultural season already upon us.
Let us all move forward reminding ourselves of our wartime mantra: [You and I have work to do].
I thank you and goodnight. http://www.informationng.com/2017/11/full-text-robert-mugabes-speech-zimbabweans.html

Christianity Etc › pictures of heaven you probably haven't heard nor seen before by lightblazingnow(op): 1:14pm On Nov 19, 2017*. Modified: 7:46am On Sep 30, 2018 |
Straight to the point, most people believe that they are going to heaven, and so that is the reason they go for church meeting, give their offerings and tithes, try to live a holy life to please God Almighty. What if I tell you that you are fooling yourself off and that you haven't experienced what the word of God Almighty is saying about heaven?
1. Heaven is done here now. How do I know? Before CHRIST JESUS went to the cross of Calvary, His disciples being moved by the amount of answers he was getting from his prayers asked him to teach them how to pray, amongst the words of the lord's prayer is is this bolded statement pray that His will be done on earth as it's practiced in heaven"
During his passion on the cross of Calvary, just before he died, he uttered that it's done, it's answered, We finally got it,the faithful God Almighty has accomplished it, now you have come to the holy mountain Zion.
Hebrews 12:22 But you, believers are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
The key here is see that you are not in doubt of the speaker
12:25 See that you refuse not him that speaks. For if they escaped not who refused him that spoke on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that's speaking from heaven:
12:26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he has promised, saying, Yet once more I shoke not the earth only, but also heaven. 12:27 And this word, Yet once more, signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire. Amen
2. Heavenly language is accessible right now to everyone who dare believe that CHRIST JESUS is the lord of all things visible and invisible. More than the language you were born or you have learned to utter, there is a new tongue given to as many as received CHRIST. Don't forget that John the Baptist before he was executed answered some critics who came to him to question his popularity, because they have observed that the man whom he spoke about is now baptising more people than he is,
John 3:27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. 3:28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
3:29 He that has the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
3:31 He that comes from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and Speaks of the earth: he that comes from heaven is above all.
3:32 And what he has seen and heard, that he testifies; and no man receives his testimony. 3:33 He that have received his testimony have set to his seal that God is true.
3:34 For he whom God has sent Speaks the words of God: for God gives not the Spirit by measure unto him. 3:35 The Father loves the Son, and have given all things into his hand.
3:36 He that believes on the Son have everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abiding on him.
Impressive words. That is the reason every Idol words that men shall speak while on earth will be accounted for. You better be careful because you are justified by your word and condemn by your word.
I give you more scriptural references
Philippians 3:17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as you have us for an ensample. 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Our conversation is in heaven, why because you are come to the heavenly Jerusalem. The church of the first born son of God Almighty. That's where you are right now, but you are still thinking that you are on earth, you haven't gotten it yet that if any man be in....in CHRIST, inside CHRIST that man is a new creature. You still see your old self, this is the singular reason most pastors are not effective in the works of reconciliation. They thought that God Almighty called them to solve the problems of the world, oblivious of the facts that they are to bring glad tidings of great Joy to the world.
3. The LORD God Almighty loves Zion, that's the body of Christ, you,if CHRIST lives in you, more than all his dwelling places. You often say God Almighty lives in heaven, oh yeah, but there is more to that, read these
Psalms 87:1 His foundation is in the holy mountains. 87:2 The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
87:3 Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God. Selah. 87:4 I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there.
87:5 And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.
87:6 The LORD shall count, when he sealed up the people, that this man was born there. Selah. 87:7 As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in you.
What's God's vision and passionate dreams? To live in us forever and ever. To move in us and build us up in the Spirit. Get ready for the move of God Almighty in and through you and stop fighting Satanic authority as if that's the Problems.
You need to be filled with Spirit of God Almighty so that you could know and experience the things that God Almighty have given to you freely..
1 Corinthians 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
2:9 But as it is written, Eye have not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him. 2:10 But God has revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.
2:11 For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God.
2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 2:14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
2:15 But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 2:16 For who have known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Christianity Etc › You Better Learn How To Pray by lightblazingnow(op): 11:35am On Nov 17, 2017 |
To pray isn't religious as some opined, prayers entails the movement of your life and welfare, if you do not know how to pray, it will be difficult for you to end well, it doesn't matter how brightly you started your life. The end of a thing is better than the beginning.
Everyone prays, wether it's a wish,or a desire or a mere words of luck, it's translated into inner self belief, even most people who claim they don't believe in the existence of the Almighty God prays, they actually think things to be better than its with them or the pains, sicknesses, frustration and disappointment they are encountering to go away.
Methods of prayers degenerated into men performing magic and diverse kind of spiritualism crept into the society thereby damaging the concept of spiritual communication between the mortal men and immortal God Almighty.
Prayers are like needing help from your Creator, comfort from your founder, just like every other things would need a repair from the makers. Like your automobiles would cry out or broken loose and down when the parts are no longer in order. All you need to do is fix them together, you may not know the extent to which the damage have been until the craft is taken to the right mechanics.
Same way you may never know how much you are broken loose until the right prayers are offered on your behalf. The reason people are running from church to church is because they never learned how to pray. If from the beginning of their lives, they payed close attention to their teachers who had tried to teach them how to pray, they wouldn't have suffered much as they are suffering today, it pays to hear.
It was because of the so called misconceptions about prayers that the disciples of Christ Jesus asked the master of all to teach them how to pray". That's what you really need to know, it's not how to slay, to surf the web, how to make money or to be successful, because it will give nothing after you have gained the whole world and then lost your soul" . You must be wise in this life not to contradict the vital things and trivial pursuit. Wealth does not make a man, but wisdom will deliver you from death. How do I mean
Proverbs 8:32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O you children: for blessed are they that keep my ways, says the master of all men.
8:33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. 8:34 Blessed is the man that hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. He has a lot to tell you, just as you daily posts on social media..
8:35 For whoso found me fund life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. 8:36 But he that's sinning against me is killing his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
That's exactly what I mean, in the eyes of men you may be a very successful man, but in reality you are killing your own soul. Be careful people what you claim to have believed in life.
And so, enough of talk, let us get over with it. Prayers connects you with the solutions that have eluded you, maybe you have been having a dangerous nightmares and you have tried everything you know to stop evil spirits from tormenting you in your dreams, the right kind of prayers will stop those nonsense from happening in your dreams.
Let me say something most of you have heard over and again, but hasn't taken it seriously, if you are a Christian, that means you have believed in your heart that God Almighty raised Christ Jesus His son from death, and that makes your heart right with God Almighty's thought and again you have confessed with your mouth that CHRIST JESUS is the lord of all
Colossians 1:15 CHRIST, who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 1:16 For by CHRIST were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by CHRIST, and for CHRIST:
1:17 And CHRIST is before all things, and by him all things consist. 1:18 And CHRIST is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he, CHRIST might have the preeminence.
1:19 For it pleased the Father God Almighty that in CHRIST should all fulness dwell; 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now has he reconciled 1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
1:23 If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
And so, if you have accepted all these about this man Jesus, then you should not play with his name when you pray. Prayers begin with his name and end in his name. Whatever you have addressed in the name of CHRIST is irrevocable, in other words it can never be overturned. So, in your different churches where you you guys play with CHRIST JESUS name, I marvel, you hear folks chanting in Name Jesus I command you out, I command you out, they could say that a thousand times thinking they will be heard by repeating those words, that's hypocrisy. You really didn't believe His Name has power, you are just saying those things because that is the way you were thought.
But I am telling you today, stop using the name of the lord in vain, that name is authority in heaven and earth, what ever you decreed in that name is done wether you could see it or not.
Your success in prayer is hung up to your revelations of the name Christ Jesus. |

The All progressives Congress (APC) came to power with a powerful slogan " change agendas". They promised Nigerians immediate changes, in the way government is policed, with the budgets, expenditures, infrastructures, the welfare of citizens, Jobs creation and security of Lives and properties, in truth, I know that there are few person who, no matter what you do will never appreciate your good work.
Mr President and APC may not have done 100%, but I'd know there are most things they have done better and commendably.
In Nigeria two things are so very much of importance which has eluded us for centuries
1, steady power supply 2, Jobs creation.
And both of them in my opinion isn't impossible to realise, but successive governments have promised heaven on earth to get to power, but once they get in, they quickly discovered what massive project it's to supply steady power. Because Nigerians are very destructive personalities. And very selfish politicians. What I mean by politicians isn't just the regular politicians. I am talking about putting themselves first before anything. They want to be richer than the earth. Instead of the populace to enjoy steady power supply, they have rather collect money from Generator importer to frustrate every effort of the government to stabilize power supply. This is playing politics with your country Nigeria.
Of a truth, your country Nigeria will never succeed except you, the country men and women join hands to build. Like a former president of the United states once said, " don't think of what American will do for you, think of what you can do for Americans..
I believe that there are things this present government has accomplished, we do be celebrating ourselves if we could sincerely point out to some of them and move on.
God Almighty bless Nigeria and Nigerians. |

Mugabe Refuses To Resign
The Zimbabwe Defence Force wants Robert Mugabe to resign but the 93-year-old ruler has refused.
There are unconfirmed reports that President Robert Mugabe has refused to give in to pressure from the military to resign.
They want him to resign and make an announcement to that effect via the national broadcaster but the 93-year-old ruler has refused.
Reports from Harare have it that this has in turn stalled the Zimbabwe Defence Force’s plan to transfer power peacefully.
They are now left with no choice but to officially pronounce a coup d’etat, and possibly a state of emergency and martial law.
At that point the current status quo would be illegal and regional blocks SADC & AU would be obligated to intervene.
President Robert Mugabe is said to be confined to his home in Harare but unconfirmed reports say his wife Grace, who was bidding to succeed him as president, has fled to Namibia.
The military's action followed the sacking of Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa, a fierce rival of Mrs Mugabe.

The Stupidity Of (FKK + Reno + Fayose) = APC’s Victory In 2019 By Churchill Okonkwo saharareporters.com
The downfall of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 after bragging for years as the biggest political party in Africa was down to pure stupidity, ignorance, and greed. More than two years after and with no lesson learned from that epic crash, greedy PDP stalwarts are once more boasting that they are ready to return to the Aso Rock in 2019. My outsiders’ view of the inside, however, indicates that the combined stupidity of Ayo Fayose, Femi Fani-Kayode, and Reno Omokri will guarantee the reelection of Buhari and All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.
Today’s PDP is gifted with vociferous, yet the most incompetent trolls proudly displaying stupidity as opposition. Albert Einstein must be thinking of Fayose, FKK, and Reno when he said that stupidity has no limit. Their stupidity has no limit. The more these political lepers remain the "official" face of PDP and keep exposing their bigotry on ethnicity and religion, the more it helps the cabal around President Buhari and APC.
When Reno and FKK shame fellow citizens from the North with the blunt edge of identity politics, they encourage the politics that gave us APC Nigeria and President Buhari. The “northerners” who are poor and uneducated, the struggling feel belittled when FKK and Renoscorn their "privilege". These Nigerians that are languishing in poverty due to poor governance are not bemused when they are lumped together with corrupt northern political elites.
Millions in the "North" voted overwhelmingly for PDP for 16 years, then flipped to APC in 2015. The 16 years, winning streak for PDP includes voting for southern Christians – OBJ × 2 and Goodluck Jonathan. Does it not follow then that these millions of voters in the North are not tribal or religious jingoist as being portrayed by FKK and Reno? Rather than wallow in stupidity, the question PDP, Fayose, Reno, and FKK should have asked themselves is: What changed in 2015?
One thing that surely changed was the decision of Goodluck Jonathan to renege on the informal agreement reached by the leaders of his party in 2011 to run for only one term. That informal understanding in PDP to be rotating the presidency between the North and the South, though unconstitutional was, in my opinion, a way of approaching equity.
To dismiss the protest of northerners over the decision of Goodluck Jonathan to run for a second term in 2015 is like telling them “shut up, your opinion doesn’t matter, we are in-charge”. We can argue as much as we want that such agreement is non-binding and that Goodluck Jonathan has the constitutional right to run for a second term. Yes, he has the right, just as the “North” has the right to reject a party they stood behind for 16 years. Democracy, right?
The lackluster performance of Jonathan before the 2015 election was further made difficult by the action of master dividers FKK and Omokri who sold the stupid idea to him to campaign along ethnic and religious sentiments. Because FKK wants southerners and Christians to resent Buhari, a Muslim from the north and support Jonathan a Christian, he displayed stark ignorance of the democratic process. It still amazes me why people that belong to a minority ethnic group and religion are the ones playing divisive politics.
FKK and Reno make empty and hypocritical noise on social media about God, quoting the Bible they knew nothing about just to put Christians on alert. Even though they achieve in polarizing Nigerians, they, unfortunately, forgot that they are alienating PDP members of the Muslim faith and Northerners. The more these promoters of division open the door to overt expressions of hatred, the more they play into the hand of the cabal running the Nigerian government.
FKK, Fayose, and Reno’s anti-North posture on everything, including the life of President Buhari does more political harm than good for the PDP. The cabal around Buhari know this and this has encouraged them to keep demonstrating to their base through political appointments that the presidency under PDP will not protect their interest even if the occupier is the Emir of Kano, not to talk of greedy Atiku Abubakar.
After soundly rejecting Buhari for years, the support he got from the North in 2015 and now, notwithstanding his below average performance should be troubling to PDP. This support can be attributed to the belief that the “North” will be “marginalized under PDP. This is a tragic result of the retreat to tribal quarters, pushed by extremists on both sides, FKK, Reno, and Fayose for the South/Christians and Ango Abdullahi and ragtag, yet potent Arewa Youths for North/Muslims.
While the movement from Reno, Fayose, and FKK has mobilized the capacity, it lacks a coherent agenda. Ultimately, their views about ethnicity, religion, and politics in Nigeria even though sometimes are well-meaning is totally wrongheaded. Nigeria does not need the noisy distraction from these bigots to go away, we just need them to grow up. While FKK, Reno, Fayose and the rest are wasting time on trivialities, APC is massively recruiting and making inroads in the Southeast. They have quickly followed that up with a surprise visit by President Buhari who has hardly traveled out of Aso Rock.
Rather than opposing concrete issues, Fayose is attacking Buhari for not sending a birthday message to him. FKK and Reno are busy cursing and abusing fellow Nigerians on social media. Their sweeping mischaracterization of ever Hausa-Fulanis diminishes the role of PDP as an effective opposition party. It serves only as another platform for hate, perhaps ensuring that APC will stay in office beyond 2019.
If you are a PDP supporter and alarmed at the gradual but sure political deactivation of Atiku, then ask yourself whether this present superficial, ineffectual and divisive rhetoric from the bigots FKK, Reno and Fayose is actually political opposition. A real opposition party is an essential component of a well-functioning democracy. Right now, the caricature of opposition from Fayose, FKK, Reno and even double-edged Atiku severely lacks teeth.
So, what is currently missing in Nigerian democratic experiment? How can we move forward? These questions should not have arisen if, for example, we have Prof. Pat Utomi out there in the political arena, fighting, failing, but consistently working to build a force to oust these failed parties of APC and PDP. What we need in Nigeria is, therefore, a third political force that will put to an end this politics of stupidity and elevation of religion and tribalism over good governance. Without real opposition in Nigeria, our democracy is dysfunctional.
We should not be discouraged by the fear that it will be difficult to challenge the politically corrupt in APC and PDP. I am, therefore, urging all Nigerians that feel unsatisfied with APC and PDP to form a coalition. We can no longer allow the stupidity and conspiracy of the two parties to hold us down. Our failure to rally round a potent political opposition now, the crippling Atiku’s economic base, together with the stupidity of FKK, Fayose, and Reno will ensure that the APC will remain in power beyond 2019. http://saharareporters.com/2017/11/15/stupidity-fkk-reno-fayose-apc%E2%80%99s-victory-2019-churchill-okonkwo-0
