They were that big! So next time if they charged at me we would box instead of that Cristiano Ronald type chicken shot!!!
They are not charging at you…Who give chicken that kind mind?

Storypot:
I applied for a farm job through my street dude, he informed me there was an opening at the place where he worked and the pay was a little above current minimum wage. A week.later I was talking on the phone with the manager who had rang me up that morning and then made arrangements to see him the next day. Next day, I met with him and after a bit back and forth with conversations, he gave me the job and asked if I could start immediately as they were short staffed a bit and needed hands. I started the job immediately and the man handed me over to one of the other boys and that one introduced me to other guys who worked there and took me to a section of the farm where I was going to be working. My job was to always collect all the was laid by the chicks. It was a very big space and I'd say they'd have close to 600 chickens in this particular section. So i,d step in there with the chickens and manually pick and crate the eggs. As the Dude was explaining things to me etc the boss came around with his inspection calls and they asked me to demonstrate what the Dude had explained to me.. they wanted to see if I understood. I stepped into the cage/ barn whatever the name was and then the chickens started making their helish intruder noises and then one of them charged at me.. I didnt know if it charged at me or it was merely running my way.. I kicked that chicken absentmindendly and it sent it flying all the way accross the terrace and when it finally came to a halt, it was limp. Omo the owner wan craze. He almost got me arrested. Kicking the chicken, I forgot I was at work.
U no well…

Farming no be ya calling.

You are even lucky they kicked you out, you for just waste ya time there.

The Emir must be respected at all cost, if you poke a king in his homeland and he goes soft then it's an insult to his throne.
You must be firm and rigid in taking decisions as a traditional ruler
How has such laws brought development to his people?

Let’s focus on real things…

We Africans focus our energy on mostly irrelevant things.

For eg: We are poor but don’t bother about it and we don’t also care, but when we see a girl with mini skirt we begin to get angry and complain about her dressing.

Same us will never show such anger to our poverty status.. Or our lack of productivity.

Even if all the girls wear long skirts and cover their faces will that bring development to our nation?

Will that make Nigeria a first world country?

No!

But we prefer such emotional / illogical development polices or real development.

That’s man is not the problem of the Emir.

Nigerians are too emotional.

Is this man the problem of the state?

Leadership it’s self means getting insulted.

Do you know how many insults president Tinubu has recived?

Let’s us focus on our real problems.

We don’t have money, we don’t have food, we don’t , we can’t manufacture, we can’t create,etc

Imagine a P uni like Madonna or Covanant university were they separate the boys form the girls. This negative culture will prevent both sex from developing the right attitudes, talents and connections for the real world.

If this P uni will not be like the above mentioned unis then it’s a very good development.

If it will adopt the culture f the above unis or their likes, then it’s another taboo in our land.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: My Most Important Job At 5000naira/month by LikeAking: 2:00pm On Aug 18, 2023
Skyview01:
Looking back at my career trajectories and jobs I have had in the past if someone would ask me what was my best and life-changing job, I would say without any shadow of a doubt, it was my job at a small-sized audit firm along Ikorodu Road Lagos that changed my career as an accountant.

It was the year 2000 and I was done with my Accounting Technician Service(ATS) - I started with my SSCE and passed my PE1 with ICAN.
I was preparing for the next level and desperately looking for a job. Without a degree, OND, HND, and Nysc, or any formal education for that matter. I was a poor broke dude coming from a large poor family, all eyes were on me in the family and I could not afford to fail.

For me, it was a do-or-die kid of affair!

As broke as a church rat, I would always go to the newspaper vendors at the Cele bus stop in Lagos every Tuesday, and pay a token to borrow the Tuesday Guardian.

That was before the internet era, I would write out all the vacancies and return the paper to the vendor. That way, At some point, I had submitted more than 200 applications with no feedback. Totally discouraged, I taught the village people are on top of my matta and might be under some spiritual spell.

Around mid-2000, I came upon a brilliant idea, I made up my mind that I needed experience from an audit firm very badly on my resume if I were to succeed as an accountant. So, I printed more than fifty(50) copies of my resume and starting from Anthony bus stop on Ikorodu Road, up to Oju-Elegba bus stop, you know there are lots of small accounting firms along that axis.

I trekked and distributed my resume and cover letters to all the firms I could find while in the hot sun, sweating like a Christmas goat about to be slaughtered for the pleasures of others.

My modus operandi was to walk up to the receptionist of any firm and tell them I was looking for a job. I would give out my resumes and cover letters like candies on a Halloween night, asking for them to contact me if they happen to have any vacancies while I tossed resumes under doors for offices that were closed.

When I got back home, I would wake up in the middle of the hot night to pray and cry to God for divine favor on my applications.

One month after that exercise precisely, I got a call from one of the audit firms I had dropped my resume to come for an interview for the position of Semi-senior at a whooping salary of N5,000 naira in a month. I was so happy and was jumping upandan with joy, even went to the local revival hour service to share a loud testimony in the church.

Most of the time, I could not afford transport fares and would hitch a ride on the open back of a neighbor's pickup truck for free while immaculately dressed in my cut-and-join three-piece suit and a fat guillotine, neck-chocking tie, sweating and smelling like a Canadian skunk, to work in the at my 5k naira job.

I worked in that company for about one year and learned a lot, I was able to lead audits of manufacturing companies, government agencies, and finance and construction companies, and within one year, I was already well-grounded in accounting work experience.

Going back to the topic of the thread, the reason why I rated that, 5000naira/month, job was that later in the years, all three breakthrough jobs I had specifically requested experience in an accounting firm as a major requirement.
I wouldn't have gotten those jobs without my audit firm experience. I later went on to finish my exams and lectured for the institute, and the rest, as they say, are now stories.

Never let anybody put you down and do not despise days of little beginnings, That little position you may be occupying today may be a building block to a brighter future and hard work does pay.

Whatever you want in life, go out there and fight for it like it's a matter of life and death.
After you have tried your best, you can now go and pray as though you depend on God 100% (if you are religious)

Without that 5k job, I am positive I may not be where I am today, and the purpose of this write-up is to encourage millions of young one's out there. The country may be tough and our leaders may be failing us, prices of commodities may be sky-high in the market, but that is not enough excuse for you not to succeed.

Thanks for reading.

1. I am a private and practical person who don't follow trend or do things for what people will say....I realize most wedding today are done from pressure to impress, leading many into debt and stress post-wedding day

2. I am an orphan: I don't understand why I should throw a big church wedding party when My Mom or Dad wouldn't be gracing that occasion, only to borrow peoples mother and father to represent them and take the shine?....besides, their absence on such massive occasion of a big wedding might trigger emotions and tears....So why should I put myself under such emotional duress in the name of wedding?

3. How many ladies today are truly worth the wedding party we throw for them: I mean in those days, you have to be a virgin to necessitate or deserve big wedding celebrations even in scriptures, not to talk of our tradition. I don't believe ladies with uncountable body count and multiple Tinder profiles should pressure anyone into big wedding party. What exactly are we celebrating? Many have done more than 5 abortions and still hooked with their toxic 'ex'. May God help men of this generation to focus on priority.
The worst of all is the epidemics of bastard firstborn children forced on a man who emptied his account throwing wedding party for same woman? This can never be me, as I'm pro-DNA test

I often think about these rationale and cant convince myself to throw big party for any woman. Traditional marriage a.k.a Introduction and sealing it up in court is okay for me. Me and few of my friends can hang out to gist, drink and eat in the evening or following day. NB: This isn't about money, just my philosophical bent about wedding ceremony.

Am I the only one who think this way?
And are there women who will understand and accept my point of view even though there's money for big party?
Your life.

I will still advise you do it big, e get why..

While senators are sharing millions to themselves, they forgot about ordinary Nigerians who cannot feed due to economic hardship.

Upon that, they still brought "subsidy thing" to suffer ordinary Nigerians the more, making life harder by the day.

So part of my meager salary which is 20k was taken by medical emergency earlier in the month.

That has stressed me out the more on survival, leaving me with a thousand naira as of this morning.

I could have prepared soup with it but what soup can I prepare with 1k and how long can it last? Soup wasn't the best option and so I decided to go for something more avoidable.

Anyhow, potatoes dey, red oil dey, man go survive.
