I sincerely don't understand why Nigerians HATE to hear the truth and HATE anyone who speaks the truth.

I just don't get it. It's a very destructive mindset, to hate the truth instead of learning and adjusting to it.

And of course Nigerians love and embrace lies - like " there is nothing like fuel subsidy" or "fuel subsidy doesn't exist".

In this particular matter, Mr Tiamiyu told the truth that Nigerians are abusing UK academic visas. If that's the case, there's no need to criticize the person who just said the truth. All he did was say what everyone knows is happening. The data is there to support his statements. Haba, the comments here make it seem he would be worthy of your praise if he LIED in public, on a BBC interview. Come on!

No surprise that Nigerians have run down their own country to the point it's the official Poverty Capital of the world.
Nigerians, we have to do better, things can't go on like this. It just can't. Nobody with a desire to do what is right can feel safe among Nigerians.

My life is in shambles right now. Since I finished secondary school, I have always been having sex with a woman in my dreams. At first I thought it was fun, but during my time in the University I started noticing that each time I have sex in my dream all my plans for the next day doesn't go well.

Recently I got a job offer, I'm supposed to resume training by Teusday. I have gone for this same Job before, passed the interview and all the test. The management congratulated me and asked me to resume the upper week; I got home and started looking forward to resumption. That night I had this same sex dream, immediately I woke up I cried out loudly, as usual I didn't get to resume again. Told my wife, she went to different churches for consultations, I entered prayers. Now, the same company sent me a message to resume.

Easy access to housing, easy access to free healthcare, easy access to good education, easy access to quality food.

Housing here is BRUTAL. Try to buy a house for less than 350k that isn't a piece of shit. You can't. Or you can and it's so far in the middle of nowhere that the cost of getting to and from anywhere negate any savings you've made in your purchase.

Easy access to free healthcare; ever had to go to an emergency room here? My friend's son broke his thumb a couple years ago (at 5 years old). Did we get seen? Sure. After 7.5 HOURS of waiting. The wife lost a day of work to go. Ever try to get a family doctor? I know people who've been on waiting lists for 4+ years.

Good education: up to and through high school, sure. But what does that qualify you for? Approximately nothing. You can flip burgers at McDonald's after that if you want. Want to go to Uni? Be prepared to carry debt for 5+ (often 10+) years after school

Good food? Good luck. Fruits and veggies are meh at best and cost a fortune. A head of iceberg lettuce is $6 where I am right now. Red peppers at $4.99/lb Steak? $39-49/kilo for any cut that isn't shit. Dairy sucks (Europeans that drank milk or have eaten butter here know what I'm talking about). Restaurants are prohibitively expensive for anywhere that isn't just reheating industrial garbage.

Also, Canadians aren't nice. They're polite. There's a difference. They'll say sorry if you bump into them but politeness will overshadow honesty. You ask a Canadian if they wanna hang out sometime, if they do want to, the Canadian will say"Yeah, totally, we should " and then tell people you suck once you're not around.

It's cold here. And spring takes FOREVER to be done with. And then summer is too hot. And the mosquitoes, don't even get me started...

I think that's it for now. Canada ain't the worst, but FAR from the best.

Good morning lovely people. I just came across this thread. I was denied a visa twice even with full funding and it broke my heart that I couldn't apply for admission this fall. I know studies are the easiest route as they told us and that's why I wanted to ply that route that was why I sought a scholarship as there's no way I could afford education outside. Please, what other route can one go through considering life as a Nigerian. Thank you all
