Wow thanks a lot for this post it really eye opening and I really do appreciate you taking your time to explain this for me
Actually the plan is to work in 3 or four places with different hours but now there is need to put in mind how easy it is to get a job, thanks I really do hope that when it time there will be availability of jobs
19naia is on point.

from my findings. People that made more money worked shorter hours in different places. The bulk of their money came from personal business (taking order from people who wants to shop in the US with commission etc)

Thanks initially she thought the minimum wage was $8-
$9 so calculation was done based on that but with this she would be able to know what to expect

As regard the visa it the embassy that suggested the agent but is there a way it can be done without the needs of agent

Hello good day please i have a question to ask, my friend just applied for a student summer work application in the u.s which enables her to work for the summer period only.
So she wants to know how many hours can she work and what is the pay per hour, also this is someone that badly needs the money so laziness isn't a factor here thanks
i think she should contact her agent.

I was listening to Asa- Bed of Stone Album while missing Nigeria so much. i decide to activate whatsapp and chat with few friends.
i asked my friend Why everyone seems to be complaining of the different places they stay in Nigeria to be "dry"?

my friend's reply was that dry is an Understatement that it is "too dry" and even "over dry sef".

He told me that most likely the naira willl go to 230naira against a dollar. that his friend that imports from china had to stop due to unforeseen situations the naira is into.

He informed me of how top business people he knows and have interacted with wants Jonathan out cos he seems to be putting most of them in more debt than profit.
he also told me of an interaction he had with someone in the Oil and gas industries that before the returns of oil used to be deposit in the federation account and they will mismanage it but recently they don't even deposit anything (or partial deposit) in the federation account anymore they squander it all.

Even though i am not directly affected cos my sponsor earns mostly in US dollars. i can understands better what my siblings are passing through at home. it means that my brother's salary and remunerations in Naira has been greatly affected and my dad's tenants might not be able to afford the rent anymore.
it also means if you work 9-5 to earn 1,500naira daily, now you'd have to work times 2 to earn the purchasing power of that 1,500naira.

What i don't seems to understand is that if all this is going on in nigeria, why do people come on nairaland to shout "GEJ till 2019"? do they live in a different Nigeria? and i can remember in 2011, no one needs to convince you to vote for GEJ, he deserved the chance and he was given the chance. why all this noise about why he MUST be voted for?

There have been posts about how to learn programming which featured some pretty good tips on how to learn programming.

So, what are the worst ways of learning programming?. Your tip might help someone choose the right method by process of elimination. smiley

I can think of: Reading a lot of books and not actually practicing. This leads you into a false notion of believing you can actually do all the things you read correctly on first try. Destroy that notion. You have to practice.
Hi, can you help with this python programs.

write a function called "howMany" using a for loop . This function returns a count of the number of occasions when a given day and month fell on a given weekday within a given period of time. "howMany" accepts five (5) integer arguments:
a. weekday is an integer in the range 0-6 and represents a day of the week
b. day represents a day of a month and can range between 1 and 31
c. month represents a month of a year and can range between 1 and 12
d. start represents the first year of the period being considered
e. end represents the year after the last of the period being considered
For example, if we wanted to know on how many occasions January 1st fell on a Sunday during the 20th century (Jan 1901 to Dec 2000), we would call howMany with the following arguments,
>>> howMany(0,1,1,1901,2000)
14
>>>
Write a function called "occurences". This function states the weekday that that day and month fell most and least frequently on. The function accepts four (4) integer arguments:
a. day represents a day of a month and can range between 1 and 31
b. month represents a month of a year and can range between 1 and 12
c. start represents the first year of the period being considered
d. end represents the year after the last of the period being considered
For example, if we wanted to know the weekdays that January 1st fell most and least frequently on during the 20th century (Jan 1901 to Dec 2000), we would call "occurences" with the following arguments,
>>> occurences(1,1,1901,2000)
That date falls most often on a Wednesday and least often on a Saturday within the given period

Good experience you are sharing... At the bolded part, I thought you already studying in Canada?
nope, i got denied last year and i got tired of them. Nigeria depressed me a lot while i was there (majorly cos of my friends that did better than me in school still can't find gainful employment and i needed to go back to school but i never enjoyed my university days in Nigeria).

sincerely, there a re so many amazing people in Nigeria willing and ready to learn/work but no opportunity. if i can port 2 people repairing fones and computers in Ikeja here, i go make money tire.

we make schooling hard for ourselves i Nigeria (Lecturers, secretaries in HOD office, HOD,Exams records, etc etc)

opportunities abound so much outside the shores of Nigeria (not that there isn't in Nigeria but you can get easily frustrated with the way things drag on and on) and for you to even show interest, people are ready and willing to help and to them, they are simply doing their job.

They will encourage you to apply for job, encourage you to make good grades, encourage you to travel, encourage you to apply for scholarship. sometimes, it gets to you and you keep asking "if i get this or even close in my country, why running up and down"
