I think you should tell your hubby cos at the end of the day, she's his niece not yours. I used 1 box for baby items and a small one for my own. The reason i separated them was to avoid scatter scatter when the real deal starts.

That's what my friend said too, if you put everything together, they will scatter you things. It's best to separate baby's things from yours.

Who told you not to give him pcm, please do. Don't worry, it's normal for babies to be cranky and uncomfortable after vaccination. Some hospitals even advice you start the pcm in the morning before going for immunization. It will pass, just give him the pcm and continue soothing him.

Bulunton, it's never too early to start shopping, once you know the gender of your baby.

For baby things, just go to Lagos island jejely (Dosunmu). If possible, look for 'little me store", I recommend it to people cos they sell at wholesale prices. They have two on the same street, from them you can get sleepsuits, bodysuits, baby toiletries, wipes, diapers, stuff on your hospital list and some other things.
For things you are getting from other stores, try to price in at least two places because some of those sellers are armed robbers in disguise. Once they know you are a ftm, they start inflating prices. Best of luck.

Dexterush, lol ndo o. I used to get that reaction from people too. They assume I'm my daughter's aunty most of the time because she doesn't look like me and I don't have that 'mummy look'. When we first moved to where we are staying now, some women near my house that knew my daughter with hubby, greeted him one day, told him they had been seeing my daughter and asked for madam. DH told them 'the person you have been seeing her with, thats madam', they were surprised. I was just laughing when he was gisting me.

Leave mummy matter, what about when I go to my faculty in unilag for masters stuff, those children normally mistake me for one of them. And because it's only diploma and year 1 students that wear mufti, they just assume I'm either in diploma or year 1. One day I was even angry and said maybe I will start wearing iro and buba when I'm going Lol. But belle don help my case now, even though I've not really gained weight like that but at least you will think twice before assuming a pregnant woman is a small geh.

I was induced when I had my daughter and I didn't find it funny. That pitocin ehn They started around 9am or 10 am(can't remember), at first I wasn't feeling anything, was still gisting with hubby, they kept asking if I was feeling anything I said no, so they increased the dosage. Even then, I wasnt really feeling much, they adjusted it again. That was when drama started, the pain no be be here. All the while, there was a doctor and a nurse there monitoring our progress, checking baby's heartbeat from time to time. The doctor had a chart when she was recording everything, from the time they started, to the dosage of pitocin and our heartrates. At one point I started having non-stop contractions, I was screaming and begging my husband to tell them to do CS for me, it wasn't funny at all. It got to a stage where I couldnt even lie still enough for them to check baby's heart rate. Also, she pooped somewhere along the line cos she was stressed too.

Eventually I started feeling the urge to push and the main doctor came and told them to move me to the delivery room and told me not to push until I was told to, I was shouting 'please I'm not pushing, it's my body, I'm not pushing o, I can't control it. Then he checked me again and told me to start pushing. He told me the best way to push was to not make a sound, cos making a sound meant I wasn't putting enough pressure and just wasting time. So I obeyed and it worked, I pushed twice, they cut me and she was out at 3:33pm.

When she came out, she wasnt crying and I was so scared. I was just praying. She had swallowed meconium so they quickly cleared her airways and beat her, then she started crying, I was so relieved. She was 4kg on the dot and even looked bigger than that Lol.

As for me, I'm not letting anybody come near me with pitocin again if there is need to be induced! If they can't use another method of induction, then make I just do CS jejely.

Feeling cool with myself right now, yesterday I washed our bodysuits and sleepsuits (only 0-3months sha).
Phcn was nice to us last night so I used that opportunity to iron everything (plus the flannels and blankets I washed the other week) without stressing the gen. I was so tired and hot by the time I was done but also very happy with myself.

1...... How do CS moms bathe after the surgery? My hospital said not to pour water on my body till the incision heals... They said to use face towel, water, soap and savlon to clean my body... And then clean the incision site with cotton wool and spirit...

I'm 3weeks pp already, but there's still a part of the incision that isn't healed completely yet (on the far right)...

As per CS tinz, I don't really know much o. Even though I had an ovarian cyst removed once and I have a CS-like scar from it, I can't really remember how I managed. But like other mamas have said, tape it and have your bath as desired, I can imagine how you feel not being able to pour water on your body as you like.

As for kpekusing, like zaynie said, wear 'rainkot' until you can go to the family planning clinic to get the one that suits your body.

Those Huggies US dey reach like #90 each ikentshout. I use Huggies after birth while in US but the moment am back to naija and the ones I came back with finish eh, na run I dey run go buy cheaper ones oooo lol, you need to see me using my phone calculator to calculate diaper price before buying

Lol, o necessary to calculate o. Na to pack shit Now, why break the bank. And the way they use diaper especially in the first month is scary, we were using between 7-8 per day.

Like other mamas have said, there are so many good imported brands cheaper than huggies. Molfix, duckies, drylove and many more. I can personally vouch for Molfix, duckies and huggies gold (in green pack), those are the other brands I used for my daughter apart from huggies snug and dry.

This time around, I bought Kirkland Supreme. I've heard good things about it, I hope I like it.

Mamas, wey ya bumps, today is bumptuesday o. We are 33 weeks today, went for ANC and did an ultrasound, he's weighing 2.2kg. The doctor said that's a little underweight but babycenter says otherwise. Average weight at 33 weeks on babycenter is 4.2lbs and my baby is 4.8lbs so I think we are good.
