We are 39 weeks today. Baby is weighing 3.7kg already, estimated to be 4kg by due date, these children plan am? . Doctor said he's ready sha, head is engaged and pushing down, the pressure no be here.
I've been dancing (incorporating squats and lunges), eating pineapples (started that today sha), kpekusing and going up and down the staircase. Gonna have my membrane swept tomorrow, I'm trying as much as possible to avoid being induced on my due date which is what will happen if he doesn't come on his own before then.

Twogreatnations, please tell DH to reconsider, don't let some bad stories here and there scare you. Taking care of babies won't be funny without help. No matter how good your husband's intentions are, it's A LOT of work.
Take my compound for example, there are six families there, three of them have elderly maids and they have been with them for years without issues. One of them even got a lady for us, she was with us for some months before we let her go cos she did something that really annoyed DH and her personal hygiene wasn't good enough for me. But in all honesty the lady was generally OK considering some stories we hear these days.

Sweetestmum pls put your mind at rest. I had the same issue too, I did a scan at 5 weeks and nothing was seen, only that the uterus lining was thick (which is a good sign). I was really worried too and my doctor sent me to do a transvaginal scan to rule out ectopic pregnancy. I did it and the only thing noticed too was the thick lining. I was told to go back for another scan in 2 weeks and I did, lo and behold there was a foetus there. 4 weeks is way too early OK, don't worry, all is well.
Apart from the usual MS, my pregnancy has been smooth, we are 38 weeks + 4 days today , by the grace of God you will also carry your baby to term and deliver safely. Amen.

Brethren, the way this belle dey grow is 'skiaring' Me. One thing I'm sure of is that I'm not allowing him go one day past his due date. Even my doctor saw me yesterday and pointed out the very visible growth speed. Kosi problem, my scan at 39 weeks (Tuesday) will determine my next move.

I had to send my Elmo to be with my kid bro for a while when Hansel arrived, cus i can't keep him outside. And he doesn't like sleeping anywhere else besides the side of our bed.
I miss this dude already. He was my faithful roommate before i got married. My Elmo even understands signs i make with my face.

But both families dragged my ear about him staying in the house when Hansel arrives. Deyve probably heard too many horror stories of dogs biting babies.

Her daughter has one of these furry little dogs. he was hanging around their dining area and I could smell it, dunno if its dog smell was really strong cos it needed a bath or my preggie nose was working on overdrive but the smell made me sick to my stomach, I couldn't really eat the food infront of me, I was just praying not to throwup. Thankfully, their steward came to take it for its evening walk a few minutes later. Now i'm ok with admiring them from afar Lol.

Britneystacy, induction is more painful than natural delivery. They will likely use pitocin, it causes very painful continuous contractions.

About cleaning tips, please use olive oil and cotton wool biko. Water alone won't do. I made that mistake with my first, I was scrubbing them during bath time and I thought that was enough. By the time I got to the hospital and a nurse came to clean them with cotton wool and olive oil, when I saw what came out, shame catch me. Apparently I was cleaning 'natin' and the winch nurse now had a strong face, made me so self conscious.

Have you not been doing your sitz bath? Put warm water (warm o, not too hot so you don't melt your stitching) in a bowl with salt and disinfectant, sit in it for about 20 mins. It helps to ease the pain. You can do it up to 3 times a day.

Pintoxx I think you should buy both. Buy size 1 but don't buy the big carton of 200Plus count. When I had my daughter, we didn't finish the carton of huggies before she grew out of size 1 and started wearing size 2. This time around I bought Kirkland Supreme instead cos it starts with size 1-2 that can be worn up to 7kg (the one I got is 136 count) and a couple of molfix size 1 pack of 12 for my hospital bag. I think the best thing is to buy half or a little less than half of size 1 and 2 just to be on the safe side, don't forget that they use a lot of diapers in the first few weeks...
