Here is what the owner of the corrola 2004 that I discussed about said.

He wants to give the car for hire purchase @1.8m but wants me to pay within a year with no upfront payment. I told him the most I can do is a year and six months so I won't default.
He said I should pray about it and get back to him asap.

Left to me I know it's something I really don't want to bother myself with but then again, I still want the house to advice.

I know it might seem like "this guy no dey hear word" but I like to hear from different people so I can make my decisions. Please guys help me in making the right decision.

By the way, I have been activated on Ocar and was called yesterday to come for training somewhere in ikeja. But I am not assure ill be in attendance because I am cash stuck at the moment.

Thanks all.

Ignorant guy.
@Kodred while I understand your frustration, I am of the opinion that you didn't get to read @nitigriti's apology on this matter that you are beginning to make a mountain of. Please I beg you in the name of Jesus to just let this go. It won't make you any less of the man that you are. It is OK to see opinions differently but more mature to understand that opinions will always differ relatively to different people and no amount of arguments can shifts the other's viewpoint.
So, please kindly let it go.
Thanks in anticipation of your cooperation grin

This car sounds like one of those unfortunate lemon cars I drove.

Does it take in water from under its belly and through the doors in heavy rain? Does the owner live somewhere in Gbagada?
Yes the car leaks from underneath, but I am afraid it's not the one you are talking about. Except the one you drove is blue in color and has a powered roof.

Hi guys I greet you all. All the elders on this forum, all protocols observed.

Please I'd like your unwatered down opinion on this matter regardless of how unpleasant it may sound. The Bible says "in the multitude of counsel there is safety."

I was driving a corolla 2004 a month back but had to return it to the owner because of the many issues it was having. The last being that the brakes failed.

Now, the owner bought the car Nigerian used for 1.25m with the odometer reading at its last which is 299999 (yea I know, right) anyways, when he told me about it and I took a look at it, I had my doubts the car would be a smooth ride on the platform but I still took it because I like trying things out before concluding.

Fast forward two weeks after putting the car on the platform and driving for just one week I noticed the car shorts oil which i mentioned this to the owner and managed it again for another week where it develop another issue. This time the issue had to do with the noise coming from the adjuster. I took the car to the client who then decided to change the engine and after engine change everything was smooth except for increased fuel consumption which was due to the fact that the car on idle mode read 2000rpm.

I took it back to him and the mechanic adjusted it and everything was fine. Though, prior to the change of engine the hub of the car, as I was made to understand by his mecahnic needed changing because it caused a loud wooing sound when I am on 60kmph and was somehow uncomfortable for riders but I totally ignored that.

The pattern became a week on, 4 days off at the workshop because a lot of issues were just coming up. Now the car started developing a fault where it goes off when I am on the move, that I have to shift to neutral while in motion to start the car again. Though God helped me all the times it stopped that I didn't have issues or accidents. I reported it to the owner who got it fixed by changing the remote box and fuse controller or something like that.

This change seemed to work for a while but later started again until God helped me to spot the issue that was causing it to stop through a rewire who was at shoprite trying to shop. The rewire came out from the mall and saw me trying to start the car and asked me to pop the bonnet which I did and he immediately touched somewhere on the fuse box and the car start immediately. I thanked him and he advised that the fault is an electrical issue and not something a mechanic would fix but a rewire I took his number and thanked him again. By the way, this rewire was properly dressed and seemed like someone who was making good money from his job.

While I was wondering what that rewire at shoprite must have touched to make the car start, I later realized that there was this fuse that is labeled 40 that always go hot because it was fused using a wrap of wires. All I had to do when the car stopped was removed the fuse and change the position the other way and voila! The car comes on.

The last time I drove the car was when it failed break on my way to lekki with a rider in it. Though the rider didn't know what happened but after I dropped the rider, I just jejely took the car back to the owner. I told the owner to change all the faulty parts and fix all the issues before the car can work on the platform because the car was now smooth driving after the engine change save for all those small issues that could take a man's life.

The reason for this long epistle is to give a general idea of the cars history which would enable you all make your suggestions.

The owner has fixed everything wrong with the car and done some body work as well. Repairs has cost him over 400k. Now he wants to sell the car out rightly or hire purchase.

Now my questions
1. Would it be wise to even consider this same car for hire purchase?

2. If yes, given all that has happened and the amount of money that has gone into repairs, how much can this car go for hire purchase if at all?

Please your candid advise and suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks

Bro, be patient, you will still see another offer. Someone here saw 1.7m or so HP offer for 2006 corolla, if I am correct for the year model, though from a church member. All I'm saying is this isn't the only offer you will see, there are even HP offers here occasionally.
3.5 HP offer doesn't sound too good, considering how long it will take you to pay off. It will even take almost 3 years if I'm right.
You can still see a good offer.
It's a 2010 corolla going for 2m two years with no down payment. grin

Uber and Bolt have reasons for putting CASH and CARD as the only means of payment

I pray you don't meet people that will make you change your mind about transfers.
Yea I know about those set of people. I select people based on the prompting I get from within. You 100% correct though I have never had any issues with people transferring to me. Almost 7 days ago I dropped a guy at the airport and his fare was 4600 he said his banking app was giving him issues. So I told him to go that I'll send my account number to him. The next day I got an alert of 5500.

I am selective based on the voice inside prompting me.
So yes may God not allow me meet people that will make me change my mind about transfers

By the way, a thought just occurred to me. Let's organize a day and get to know ourselves in person at either the beach or somewhere. I mean the guys on this forum. Those in lagos o. Like a get together. grin grin

I picked a rider from Allen to lekki County home last night and the ride was a quite one and I made sure it was like that. Rider entered my car and sat at the back. I greeted her the first time, I didn't hear a response, I greeted her the second time, still didn't hear any audible sound that looked like she was responding. I turned and greeted her loudly this time that she was forced to answer but at that point I wished I hadn't turned to greet her because her shirt was loosed and all her boobs were just all over the place. I just quickly shook that picture off my head literally and told myself I will never look back at her to ask anything. While on the trip, this lady sat in the car as if she was in her parlour. How I knew was when her clawy toe nails touched my elbow while it was resting on the arm rest/clove compartment. Na there I turn back out of shock and being startled only to see say my sister don open leg here and there with her left leg on the arm rest and right knee pushing on the front passengers seat to keep her balanced and boobs still everywhere.

I wanted to tell her to put her legs down and sit appropriately, but when I remembered how things like this had escalated to something else from other drivers experience, I just told myself that it wasn't worth it. Moreover I may not see this lady again.

Na so I cool myself down and avoided any issues that could have sprung up.
Ended trip and it was 4400. Lady paid via transfer and thanked me.

While every Fibre in me was screaming SHE IS A PROSTITUTE I quickly silence that voice because whether you like it or not, I am not on this platform to be judgemental. I only drive because I love it and to earn some extra income even while I pray for my own car to come my way.

So my fellow drivers, this is what I have learnt in my little time of driving on uber.

1. If you are not comfortable with a ride you've already accepted kindly and politely tell the rider.
2. From my experience, rudeness of riders starts from the phone conversation but it is up to you to season your response with salt so as to calm her before you get to her. Works for me everytime.
3. Always ask them for their preferred route o. This one dey cause wahala well well. Even with the male riders. If traffic dey where dem dey tell you to take use Google map show them say that place red and why. Works for me usually.
4. Never expect your riders to always be nice that's not your entitlement. But by asking this question "How's your day going?" you will know if your rider will be nice or not and it will do two things for you.
It will let you know the state of the rider and also force him or her to respond to you which in turn will let you know if the rider is open to conversation or not. BTW, they'll know when you ask sincerely and that's how conversation starts.
5. I personally prefer transfer to cash payment as it makes it easy for me to save and not spend cash any how on petrol and food.
Last but not least as much as I can remember, don't drive on Uber with the mindset of "this is my car" because it will rob you off your professionalism. You are providing a service and hence you should be worth your service. If you see yourself as a "common Uber driver" it will affect how you handle your riders.

May the Good Lord prosper us in this hustle and keep us safe even as we enter the festive period.
Be safe guys and remember that your life is worth more than your daily target.

Disclaimer: the post above and the tips are just my experience and what I have been using that has been working for me. It might not be accurate and may not apply to some drivers. I stand corrected but still stand on what I belive works for me. Bless up guys

Rejoicing that I have seen a trip to ikeja. Till I shout "Jesus" I no know so tey the lady come dey ask me wetin happen. Na so I open mouth tell her say she don make mistake for her destination. Please I need a copy of HP agreement and guarantor’s form. It’s urgent. Thanks. If u can send it to my email. joe4god2932@yahoo.com
I have been looking for this hp agreement for almost a month now. I was opportune to find a very robust hp agreement but the owner requested that I pay him 2k before he released it to me because it was written by his lawyer. I had quoted someone earlier who needed same hp agreement template stating that we should split the requested 2k in equal part then pay the guy to get it but that guy I quoted went silent.

So if you are game we can share the cost.
