It would be good if you have the money to invest both in the rent and operations. You can get a live band to come play every weekend, have in place good chef to handle food and cat fish pepper soup, I tell you the business is yours grin Don't forget security ...ensure ample parking space is available and secured too. Any standby generator? Nobody likes hot beer grin
The live band idea is one of the strategies I plan on using to bring in more customers. Thanks

Is a nice deal but first check what monthly income is and calculate it by 10, that will give u the yearly rough income. You need to visit a close garden and make intelligent survey ok. The marginal benefit of such, worth the price but try 800k per month.
That's one of the main things I'd like to know. I mean the average monthly revenue generated from a garden (definitely not those in the class of Eden garden because I don't have such funds).

If someone could give me a rough figure of what could be expected monthly I'd invest in it and won't mind spending 6 months just to try and bring up the place. I'm patient enough.

PS: The owner yesterday told me last offer was 1.5 million naira for two year (I.e 750k per annum).

The owner recently purchased a generator after several complains about the hot state of his drinks on offer. Parking space is also limited but not that bad. The main problem is that there's a rival garden close to this garden with all these features you asked about. I feel I would be investing for the owner and in two years when my rent is up and his garden is the rave of the state grin he would profit from my sweat.

It's better for you to make a comprehensive research than to rely on naira advice
I believed the community in Nairaland would at least give some good advice on this as I really do not have anyone I can seek advice on such matters from.

Garden business will make profit any where in abuja. Just get beautiful sales girls and a good mai suya or kilishi seller. SHIKENAN!
This post saved me. Thanks

This is like giving someone a million naira and telling him to spend it within 10minutes. Why not contact FCDA abuja. I don't have their number now but google fcda if you can get their contact or any other useful info. Federal capital development authority( fcda) if I'm correct, goodluck.
The owner of the place has all the ownership papers. He is just leasing it for two years

Is it a fortified garden? Is it attractive to visitors? Is it well located in serene environment? Just visit there like twice during weekdays & weekend (both Saturday and Sunday) to see how people frequent the area. That should help you know if it's gonna be profitable or not. And also, try to meet anonymously with the current staff of the garden
Well, I usually visit the place on weekdays after working hours and the turnout is poor to be honest. Some works have to be done such as curbing the smell from that comes from the nearby pond and some landscaping.

I met with the guy that sells suya and he complained that the owner doesn't buy enough drinks for sale thus reducing his own sales. More alcohol equals higher craving for meat.

I just felt that the location being situated in a high brow area might be a goldmine if properly managed.

They offered you N2m,so how much did you ask for...As a business man,you have to also place your own price/want.

I suggest you urge em to pay N6m & make em see reasons,of which they might or wouldn't wanna pay,but you guyz might end up negotiating between N3m-N4m.
Sorry you misunderstood me. I was offered a garden to rent and use for two year not the other way round. So they told me to pay 2 million for two years

Please I would like for someone to tell me how profitable it is renting a garden/park in Abuja. I have an offer to rent a garden in a high brow area of Abuja for about two million naira for two years (a million per annum). Is that a good deal?

Please I need advice from people who own such or know people that run such businesses. Deadline for payment is on Friday.

Thanks

Foreign AffairsBritish Citizens Protest Against The Election Victory For Conservatives by linkin8k(op): 4:15pm On May 10, 2015
Fifteen people, including a 16-year-old boy, were arrested following clashes with police during an anti-austerity protest close to Downing Street.

Officers in riot gear clashed with a "minority" of protesters who threw objects during the rally - which came after the Tory election victory.
Met Police said four police officers and a police staff member were injured.

A police investigation is also under way after graffiti referring to "Tory scum" was daubed on a war memorial.

Met Police said of the 15 arrested, 14 people been bailed pending further enquiries including a full review of CCTV footage and a 24-year-old man remains in custody after being arrested on suspicion of assault on police.

Graffiti was sprayed on the Women's War Memorial, in London's Whitehall, which is yards from where a concert to commemorate the 70th anniversary of VE Day took place on Saturday.

A Downing Street spokesman condemned the graffiti as "a despicable display of disrespect for those who fought and died for their country".
Hundreds of anti-government protesters, some holding placards reading "I pledge to resist" and "Stop the cuts", took part in the rally on Saturday, which began outside Conservative Party headquarters.

Why can't Nigeria go big and build a nuclear power plant?
.

Because it's too dangerous with lack of maintenance culture, militancy, vandalism and terrorism present in our country. Look at the scare from the Japanese nuclear power plant some years back. Germany is even planning to decommission all her nuclear plants.

Not even the Pdp candidate will admit this rubbish, the lady was voted into the senate before and has state spread already, contrarily the Pdp stooge and his masters are not brave enough to let him face other contenders in the primaries because he will be beaten handsdown, that's why they resorted to 419 and declare him their flagbearer from wadata plaza Abuja.

Ever wonder why inec ordered re-run in some LGs and PUs? Because the cowards sense losing and go gaga beating and harassing anyone, snatching boxes, thumbprinting and threatening officials. One cannot claim victory after all these vices, they rigged her out and think that's the end, they will realise how foolish they were soon.
Does it mean that any state that didn't vote for APC rigged?

OP I'm sure your story has genuinely touched people suffering with similar things. It's a courageous thing to do by giving your testimony. I pray God helps you to keep away from it continuously.

This self service of a thing is a serious disease that affects a lot of people and their lifestyle. It's good that attention is given to it. I would like to thank the moderator for pushing this to front page as I'm sure people would benefit from this story and have faith to fight their own personal battles.

What I don't understand is why people here are shouting that he's lying. I personally don't see what one can gain from lying about his terrible pastime habits.
BusinessRe: Exchange Rate Of Naira To Other African Currencies by linkin8k(m): 7:03pm On Mar 20, 2015
For the Ghanian Ceddi rate it's tricky to say they're in a better position because some years back the revalued their currency by removing 4 zeros from the Ceddi. This, 1 Ghana Ceddi equals 10,000 Ceddi (older currency).

It is just sad that the people whom are elected to represent their so-called people are living like demi-gods in the country with no interest in helping their constituency or the country as a whole. We keep haggling and insulting each other over the Presidential candidates and ignore these kind of politicians who go under the radar in this country siphoning public funds.

I urge all Catholics in Nairaland and beyond to come to Folake's aid in this period of lent which does not only consist of fasting and prayer but also alms giving.

I wish her speedy recovery and would donate the little I can.

I believe the OP should encourage donors by listing the amount of money donated by each person. This would aid in bringing in more donations.

OP, you have to discuss with your mum-in law soon and tell her it was a mistake and promise to send that Wunmi packing.

All I see on here is people asking why the OP couldn't control himself. We all know how guys are weak in the flesh and get tempted easily.

Why on earth should the Wunmi not respect her very good MARRIED friend and avoid such advances from the husband. Why should she also wear such skimpy dress knowing that she's living with her so-called friend's husband.
