The times you see in the video were when Nigeria's ethnic diversity was given its due recognition and religious differences were acknowledged and respected.
We started getting it wrong beginning from the day (May 24 1966) Aguiyi Ironsi decided to unilaterally do away with religion and ethnicity by way of proscribing all tribal associations which were existing during the times shown in the video, and centralizing power which ended up being to the advantage of the Hausa-Fulani who now use the leverage to dominate others to the detriment of national development.
Aguiyi Ironsi wanted us to start pretending we were a homogeneous country whereas we were a huge diversify. Look where it has landed us now. Pretence is the surest way to failure in life.

I feel he did that with good intentions. Ethnic diversity should be recognised but we can't allow it rule us.

Can we fulfill the promise that Nigeria once had? Yes! We can! But we need to all put in HONEST effort to it.

Blame won't change things, things are already bad.

We need to forget ethnicity and religion and work together as one if we are to truly STOP THE ROT that is eating Nigeria.

Example: The source of modernity is Africa.
Example: He uses tomato sauce to consume bread.

6. CEASE/ SEIZE: To cease simply is to stop, while to seize is to confiscate, arrest or withhold.

Example: Pray without ceasing.
Example: Their results were seized by the examination body

NB: Seize should as well not be mistaken for "size"

7. INVISIBLE/ INVINCIBLE: Invisible means "not seen" (it has to do with vision), while invincible means powerful and/or untouchable.

Example: He wore an invisible cloak. It made him invincible against enemy attack.


8. REIGN/ RAIN: Reign means a period of domination, while rain refers to waterfall in drops from the sky (or a large quantity of something)

Example: During his reign, rain ceased to fall. Hence, drought and famine.

9. I (capitalized)/ i: I (when capitalized) is simply the first person perspective, while "i" is just the ninth letter of the English alphabet.

Example: I'm running late.


10. WONDER/ WANDER: Wonder means to be amazed, to wish to know, etc. Wander implies movement, to (mentally, physically or emotionally) move about.

Example: He wondered why the dog kept wandering up and about in the house. It made his mind wander—searching for answers.


11. THERE/ THEIR: There simply is a (physical or mental) location (of something), whilst their is a second/third person pronoun.

Example: Their house is right there.

12. SURLY/ SURELY: Surly infers terrible, ugly, arrogant, etc while surely means definite, positive, truthful, etc.

Example: The surly waitress will surely get little or no customer appraisal.


13. IT'S/ ITS: It's is a contraction of "it is", while its is a pronoun that expresses "belonging to".

Example: Its main property is that it's very coerce and tough, slow but stable.

NB: when in doubt of which to use, substitute with "it is" to see if it fits properly in such context. Same applies for "am" and "I'm".

14. YOUR/ YOU'RE: YOUR is a second person pronoun, while you're simply is "you are".

Example: Your dog chewed on the phone. You're therefore responsible for whatever replacement(s) must be made.


15. QUIET/QUITE: To be quiet is to be free of noise (or disturbance); quite means to a degree or extent of.

Example: The quiet reserved lad over there in suit is quite handsome as well.

I have come to realize that we as Nigerians are just too self-centered and selfish.

We need to be more disciplined as citizens. No matter how well a drainage system is constructed, it would fail once we keep disposing of our refuse in it.

This is nothing compared to what happened in 2012 when Cameroon opened their dam sha- the whole of Gyado Villa axis, places opposite Judges' Quarters, parts of the Teaching Hospital, Wadata axis and a large part of Gboko road from NAF Base were submerged.

A good drainage system would fix this.

Our attitude to things that don't "seem" to affect our immediate environment and family is awful. If people learn to just properly dispose waste and not mindlessly throw it out of their car windows or drop it straight in the drainage, these kind of things won't happen.

I don't understand What is really happening in this country called Nigeria? No one is held responsible for crime, people just go Scot free. Well I believe that their is God and every human must surely account for his or deeds. When God created humans, the angels said God have created people that will be doing bad deeds and spilling blood. But God replied by saying indeed He knows what the angels knows not...Bottom line: Always do good.

Until Nigerians are held responsible for their actions, these kind of events would sadly not end.
