As of when I checked, it was not listed on the primary source site claimed by Sahara. However, it has now been posted. You can check the timing: https://yen.ng/yen2/2025/09/breaking-59-civilians-5-soldiers-killed-in-fresh-terrorist-attack-in-borno-town

Sahara Reporters’ primary source is not even reporting the same on their site—why is this news not on Yerwa Express News Website, Yen.com.ng? Sixty souls is a lot; that’s more than enough for a national outrage.
PoliticsRe: Enugu Government Reacts To Sujimoto CEO's Viral Video by lionshare: 6:18am On Sep 06, 2025
Why are you making a skit video in response to the EFCC invitation? It clearly feels like social manipulation to win public sympathy. How many times has he done the same when vendors and employees called him out on social media for unpaid dues? Now that the complainant is a big player, he’s suddenly shedding crocodile tears—yet some gullible people will pity him. Both sides should resolve this legally, and whoever is at fault must be properly punished. Too many treat government contracts like free money, and if the government can hold some accountable, Nigeria and Nigerians will benefit.

CERTAINLY YES, IT WILL, FOR EXAMPLE ACCESS BANK VS INTERCONTINENTAL BANK.. MORE THAN 70% OF INTERCONTINENTAL BANK STAFF WERE LAID OFF, GRADUALLY, THE OTHER 30% ALSO WENT OFF.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE IS ACCESS BANK VS DIAMOND BANK. MORE THAN 70% OF DIAMOND BANK STAFF WERE NOT PRIVILEGED. SO LAYING OFF OF ADVANTAGED BANKS IS NOT A NEW DEAL. NO BANK AT THIS TIME WILL WANT TO ABSORB LIABILITY. SO YOU ARE WELCOME TO RONU REPUBLIC OF WEEPING
In most cases in economics, you have to choose your poison or the alternative forgone. In this instance, it's better to have job losses than to have failing banks—or would you prefer failing banks to job losses in the banking sector, knowing that aside from the many victims when a bank fails, job losses are still bound to happen?

Cite examples of countries in the world were it is standard practice for politicians to give journalists, activists and party loyalists money. That's your claim.
Influencing politics with money is not the subject here.
You're free to interpret Musk's action as you please but as long as you can't prove he paid journalists, activists or party loyalists money for political ends, you're simply fooling yourself.
It's even laughable that you now turn around to say it is impossible to pay voters in Nigeria while musk did it in the US.
You can actually make your point without inferring one’s opinion is foolish but it’s your opinion anyways.

If I say politicians are the some of the biggest investors in media business are you expecting to find their names as the owners in actual fact?

I disagree. Peter Obi resonated with supporters because he challenged corruption and the status quo. As a former governor, he knows the system and sought to reform it. That is the essence of the Obidient ideology, rare in Nigerian politics.

Bribery, disguised as “thanks for coming,” should not be normalized. Mr. Adeyanju, acting for the government in power, aims to destroy Obi’s credibility and the “we no dey give shishi” principle.

By threatening to take him to court, Mr. Obi is sending a clear message which is, smear campaigns have consequences, and he will defend his integrity when necessary.
What you just explained is idealism; there is a difference between idealism and realism. Realism is Obi getting the LP ticket last minute after foreseeing the impending loss at the PDP primary. If you think he got the ticket without any money, then perhaps you should continue with your idealism.

Don't drive into whataboutism
You specifically said it is standard practice all over the world to give cash gifts to journalists, activists and party loyalists when they meet with politicians so give examples of such occurring
Don't veer off into Elon Musks and voters. That's a false equivalent
It’s a standard practice for wealthy individuals to use their resources to influence politics; otherwise, why don’t poorer people occupy top leadership roles like presidents or prime ministers, even in first world countries? Do you think Donald Trump’s money played no role in his rise to the presidency? Billionaires like Michael Bloomberg and Elon Musk have directly or indirectly monetized the electoral process to support their preferred candidates. Musk, for example, even went as far as paying voters—a practice that would be almost impossible in Nigeria. To really understand how politics works, you need to study campaign finance; money is essential to running political campaigns and gaining influence, whether openly or behind the scenes.

Rather than seek some settlement, Deji went ahead with his defamatory comments as if they have no consequences.
Time will tell let’s see if Obi has the balls to see the matter through at the courts but this is bad optics.

One thing I've noticed about you BATists is that you're not really averse to corruption like you all claimed in 2015. You're only concerned about who is doing it
Were you offline when Elon musk was using cash to induce voters? Or is that worse off than paying for journalists?
PoliticsRe: I Was There, Obi Never Offered You Anything - Journalist Replies Adeyanju by lionshare: 6:32am On Aug 30, 2025
Obidients always fail to see the bigger picture—there isn’t a single politician who doesn’t give money. Offering a ‘thank you’ to journalists, party loyalists, activists, and others is a common practice worldwide, whether it’s called a token of appreciation, mobilization, or by any other name. Denying this reality as a politician is simply digging your own grave because once that activist lawyer sees this, he’ll be forced to respond and further drag your principal. He doesn’t have anything to lose but stands to gain more—so consider how this rebuttal benefits Obi.

If you're aiming to make a meaningful comparison of rates across countries or time periods—whether using Year-to-Date (YTD), data from 2023 to date, or Fiscal Year 2024—simply citing GDP alone is insufficient. A more comprehensive analysis should include the following key macroeconomic indicators:

Gross Domestic Product (GDP)

Inflation Rate (CPI / Core CPI)

Unemployment Rate

Interest Rates (Central Bank Policy Rate)

Government Debt-to-GDP Ratio

Government Revenue-to-GDP Ratio

Fiscal Deficit / Budget Balance

Capital Expenditure to GDP Ratio

Tax-to-GDP Ratio

Current Account Balance

Trade Balance (Exports - Imports)

Exchange Rate Stability

Stock Market Growth / Index Performance

Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI)

You all that support bulaba lack understanding or deliberately try to misinform people till it's too late for them to complain about a bad policy.

That's how you all praised him for scrapping unnecessary import fees and replacing all with just one flat 4% FOB import fee that has turned out to be even 300% higher than all the small small fees previously collected from importers.

I prefer when people have proper and practical alternative policy solutions, ’cause mere criticism is too cheap. BTW, there’s a rent relief of ₦500K for everyone. That, plus ₦800K, equals ₦1.3M—meaning if your total income is less than ₦1.3M per annum, you’re to pay zero tax.

Can you mention a govt that floated and devalued the naira pro-rata from N450 to N1,500 in less 6 months in office? Can you do the maths and mention one single govt in the past that did that>
I am not talking about the normal piece-meal, gradual devaluation. I am talking about a sudden, drastic, reckless, steep devaluation of a currency from about N450 to N1,500 over night!.
Do you know how many people have lost life-changing opportunities because of that e.g. inability to gain admission or continue their education abroad; companies that have incurred huge losses and laid off employees, high costs of living and hardship etc?
The exchange rate jumped from ₦22 in 1998 to ₦92 in 1999 — just as it did in 2023 and 2024: same objective, different actors.

Maybe the CBN is more interested in building reserves as a buffer first before strengthening the naira. Remember, CBN can also buy dollars away from the market rather than allowing it flow and stay in the market organically.

Strong reserves help the Government with foreign debt servicing which means we are very unlikely to default on our debts anytime soon. Ghana defaulted in 2022 because they had weak FX reserves compared to the debt they had to service then. Same goes for Ethiopia, Zambia, Argentina who have all defaulted and ran to the IMF.

To me, rising reserves are very important and one of the most important macro indicators. It means your economy has some kind of buffer against your foreign debt servicing (which usually takes away most of the dollars everyday alongside imports and FPI outflows)
It's not necessary to strengthen the naira right now; maintaining stability is more important. Forcing appreciation could create instability and reverse recent gains. Sustained stability will, over time, move us closer to purchasing power parity with the dollar and help manage inflation.

But, of course, there’s a reason opposition parties can’t make alternative economic suggestions to what’s currently being implemented. Perhaps they’re wiser than you. Yes, the price used to be less than N1000, but it went as high as N4,000+. If, for some reason, it’s retraced to even N2500, are you not supposed to be happy for the masses who’ll be able to afford more quantity now compared to when it was N4000? Or is it that you don’t care about the poor? Besides, I know a time it used to be less than N500; why not insist we return to that time? Has your income stayed dormant since 2023? For anyone who truly cares about the masses, this is good news.

You’re comparing apples to cassava, brother and you know it. Nobody is asking for 1993 prices. We’re talking about just over a year ago, before this administration took over. Garri was ₦800–₦1000 in May 2023, then skyrocketed to over ₦4,000 under Tinubu. Now it drops to ₦1,800 and we’re supposed to celebrate? That’s not progress... it’s recovery from calamitous, self-inflicted harm.

You don’t get applause for putting out a fire you started.

Dragging Abacha or pre-1999 into this is pure deflection and mischief. We live in this economy, under this government and this is who we’ll hold accountable. Past governments aren’t the benchmark. Reality is
Essentially, what people are celebrating is the resultant effect of persistent relative stability in prices, which is causing competition to focus on prices, as both buyers and sellers already have predictable data from the stability. Therefore, now to make more money, you have to supply more quantity, which is why prices are falling, coupled with the harvest season for farm produce.
As long as the FX rate stays stable, oil prices stay stable, and the net effects of subsidy continue to gradually percolate the fabric of the economy, prices will continue to fall until margins become too tight for the sellers, who will then compete on quality all to the benefit of the masses.
PoliticsRe: Local Production: Rice Mills Collapsing by lionshare: 10:39am On Aug 23, 2025
I don’t think Nigeria has a comparative advantage in rice production; we will only be self-inflicting high prices by insisting on local production. Let’s look for areas where we have advantages and export to the world while we import services or products where our local production cost is not competitive. This is commonsensical because it’s better to have 200 million well-fed citizens with access to relatively cheaper rice than to have fewer than 500,000 farmers profiteering from the high cost of local produce at expense of 200m folks.
