Nairaland GeneralHello Nigeria by lipuka(op): 12:13pm On May 17, 2008
Hello. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you all.

My name is Samson Lipuka. I am a Kenyan from a small town known as Mazeras. Mazeras is just some 20 kilometers to the west of old, historical port city of Mombasa on the Mombasa - Nairobi Highway.

I am a member of the Lipuka Family which is scattered all over East Africa. I am a broadcaster by profession. I am also a Taekwondo Instructor and hold a blackbelt from the World Taekwondo Federation. I also hold a blackbelt in Goju-ryu karate.

I am widely travelled, and have visited Nigeria a number of times since 2003, when I first visited Nigeria during the COJA Games.

I look forward to paying more visits to Nigeria before I go and be with my creator.

I love Nigerian movies, and have enjoyed Fela Kuti's music. As a result of what I saw of Nollywodd, I started my own company, Lipuka Productions Company for the purpose of venturing into the home movies industry. TYhis is very virgin area for Kenyans, but I hope that I may at a later stage make my own contribution in making Kenya another Nollywood; or is it kenwood?

I admire Nigerian football but I feel unhappy that it has seen some decline. I hope something will be done to reverse this decline.

I also want to thank my one true Nigerian friend, Abdul-semiu Agboola-imran for showing me that Nigerians can be true friends.

I hope that many more of you will be communicating with me. My e mail address is samlipuka@hotmail.com. Or you can send me an SMS on +254 721 290427 or +254 736 122555

Thank you all'

Hello Bayo Mayo

Thank you for your reply. As I said, I support Chelsea because it is the only team I can identify with. It has many Africans. I would sincerely have liked to see them win the English Premier League championship. And they could have done it too, if it had not been for the disorganisation at the beginning.

They are going to beat Manchester United in Russia. Just watch.
RomanceRe: Do Virgins Make Better Partners? by lipuka(m): 10:02am On May 09, 2008
I don't think virginity is an issue. If you ask me, a prostitute is more honest than those so-called church going girls. The prostitute will ask for money and will give you the services as paid for. And she is good at it. If she decides to marry you, she will be very sincere because she knows where she comes from. She has seen it all and there is nothing you can teach or do to her that she has not experienced. So she will come to you because she really wants you.

The virgins offer nothing. A real man wants an experienced woman with him. Then they get to enjoy everything together.

If you love her, and she loves you, and you are confident and sure of your performance in bed, then you have nothing to fear. But if you are weak, then look for a virgin because she will not know the difference.

I say all girls are prostitutes anyway. Think of how much you will spend, or how much they ask from you before you can even get them to come to your room? A prostitute will be your best bet as a partner, not a virgin

Nairaland GeneralDoes Corruption Exist In Africe? by lipuka(op): 9:32am On May 09, 2008
CORRUPTION;  DOES IT EXIST?

We have to look at the subject of corruption from another angle. What is the position as far as African culture and tradition is concerned?

The colonialists brough us their own concept of how a country is governed. They brought us their Constitutions. According to the Costitutions they brought us, there is a clause which states that if a Public Official receives a gift in his official capacity, then that gift must be handed over to the Accounting Officer.

This clause is there in Kenya, Nigeria, Britain, America, India, Ghana, everywhere. This would mean that if a Police Officer somewhere in Nigeria receives a bribe of, say 200 naira, then the money must be handed over to the Accounting Officer. In the same vein, if Yar 'Ardua is given a present of a horse or a goat, or a camel somewhere, that gift should be handed over to the Accounting Officer. This includes the relatives of the said public servents. In other words, they are not supposed to use their iffices or positions for personal gain.

In theory, this is a very good piece of legislature. It should, by itself, prevent any forms of corruption. But it overlooks some very important areas.

Africans are, by nature, very generous people. It is standard practise to give gifts. For centuries, we have been giving gifts to our kings whenever we went to visit them, or sought favours from them. And they accepted these gifts as theirs.
In fact, for an African, if he gives you a gift, and you sell it or give it away, you are infact rejecting the gift and this is bad manners and an insult to the giver.

Ther fact that we now elect our leaders does not mean that we have ceased to be Africans, and that our African values should be discarded.

SO I SAY THER IS NO CORRUPTION IN AFRICA.

What do we have? I call it theft. It is very simple really. If I give you some money to take  to my home, and you spend it, you must repay. If you take my property without my knowledge, that is theft, not corruption. Have you wondered, why, when a junior officer takes some 1,000 to pay school fees he will be charged for theft, but a Governor taking 10 million naira will have to be investigated first and be charged for corruption?

It is because the powers-that -be must always protect each other. So they came up with corruption, not theft. Us minors a thieves, and the big ones are corrupt. We have been led to believe this. Let us all call them thieves, because that is what they are. and nothing else.

LET THEM BE CHARGED UNDER THEFT LAWS AND NOT CORRUPTION BECAUSE THEY HAVE STOLEN FROM US.

I personally think most players are overrated and overpaid. We should have more sanity in soccer. But then we have to put the blame squarely on the Press. They are always looking for heroes, and create them. Just because they score a few goals, and they are turned into demi-gods. And the players then grow horns. The money and publicity gets into their heads.

Look at Makelele now. This man from DRC and got a French passport is hardly ever seen. And yet he is always there at crUtial times. Nobody mentions him or even gives him credit. And he does not ask for any. A true footballer, if you ask me.

Yeah Dominique, Kenyan love football; just like you there. Problem here is corruption and inept leaders. Remember Gor Mahia won the Mandela Cup in '87. We also got a silver in the African games against Egypt in the same year.

We also beat Nigerria in Volleyball. And we are good in rugby, swimming. taekwondo, hockey and quite afew others.

And yes, Liverpool is the team to watch.

I watched Chelsea againt Liverpool in the UEFA Cup semi-final Wednesday. Drogba was great. He scored two goals and Lampard was substituted.

Mind you, my team is, and has always been Liverpool. Forget about Man U and Arsenal. They had good players, Barns, Rush, Grobellaar and they won the UEFA Cup too.

But I supported Chelsea because it is the only team in Europe with the highest number of African players. Even Makelele is African, although he holds a French passport.

Now can somebody get another Okocha or Kanu from Nig?
