Thank you Paddy. But we should not allow it t happen, just because it is happening in another country |
There are many South Africans in other African countries. Maybe we should give them a dose of their own medicine |
Well. I guess someone will be the judge there, so far no one has complained |
I did not forget Kenya. I said we allow ourselves to be used by politicians to kill each other. It happened in Kenya, and it was bad. Mine is a wake-up call brother. We have a problem in Africa. Just ask Zimbabwe |
Are you telling me Naija girls cannot be trusted? |
About two years ago, South Africans went on rampage, beating up fellow Africans. While it was said that they were targetting Zimbabweans, in reality Africans from other countries were also affected. They were at it again during the month of November. They only stopped because of the fear that many people may not go to South Africa for the World Cup. But the threat is still there. I was in South Africa just the other day, and the talk on the ground is that there will be further attacks after the World Cup. People being targetted include professionals and those who have invested in South Africa, but they are Africans. The ANC came to power with the support of the Labour movement, so not much is expected from those quarters. But the people in South Agfrica are investors, and are filling a gap and rendering service not being provided by others. There are Kenyans in Johanneesbeg, Somalis in Cape Town, Nigerians in Durban, and many others. They are all targets. Why did we support South Africans against the apartheid regime if all we get are these attacks? And who will be the loser anyway, if professionals and investors leave South Africa? |
If yopu have that kind of money, Lipukas have very many candidates. Come and choose. Only remember, you keep on paying for the rest of your life |
The blessings were tongue in cheek. I cannot curse my own continent |
Change must come, whether good or bad |
Some customs are outr of date |
Africas do not pay dowry. This is for Asians |
Even here in Kenya, some parents demand a lot, as much as 1 million naira! This does not include other thjings. And the wedding cost will be borne by the bridegromm's family |
My stupid sister paid her own bride price. Can you imagine? |
It is only in Africa, where you can find a country with TWO presidents (Madagascar)> It is only in Africa where the ruling party in Government can vote for and choose the leader of the Opposition in Parliament ( malawi). It is only in Africa, where you can see a Captain in uniform, hiring mercenaries from another African country to cling to power Guinea) It is only in Africa where you see a country without a Government causing so much havoc to world economy (Somalia). It is only in Africa, where the people are so stupid that they allow themselves to be used by greedy politicians, ruin their own countries, impoverish themselves, kill each other, render themselves homeless and starving, then go begging for handouts, blaming everybody else except themselves. GOD BLESS AFRICA! |
In Africa, age is not an issue. And it is working. I now have 6 requests |
That is left overs and used goods. But Kenyan girls no problem |
I love these Naija girls. I can try. can't i? |
They should stop |
It has now become common, for women to do jobs which were the preserve of men. They are in the Stock market, they are the managers, you name it. They now even earn more than their husbands/boyfriends. This will be a threat to the traditional belief, where a man is the head, and provider of the home. But does this mean that women will accept to share with their husbands the family upkeep, or are we seeing a new, independent woman who has no need for a man? Only time will tell |
Very true |
You all know RSA is a cannobal and maybe has a prostitute as a relative somewhere |
What we are talking about is the integrity of the African. We are not cannibals. And there are many prostitutes in the West, not just Africa |
Well, if women want to continue being bought, they should not complain if they are treated like property |
If the movie is good entertainment, then neither God nor Satan can help Africa |
Over the years, it has been a tradition, that whenever a man wants to marry, then bride price must be paid. In other countries, especially in Asia, and previously in Europe, it was the other way. The family of the girl had to pay dowry. Dowry is what the family of the girl pays to the family of the man, while bride price is what the man pays to the family of the girl. In India, dowry has been misused, to the extent that the family of the man demand a lot. Sometimes the girl is even killed if the dowry is not enough. In Africa, bride price has been commercialised. A highly educated girl commands more. In the past, it was a girl who was of good virtue and a hard working virgin who commanded a high price. Where do we get hardworking virgins today? I believe both bride price and dowry have outlived their useulness. We cannot talk about sex equality and still contonue with these practises. These practises must stop, and the sooner the better |
Many people do not know much about Africa because of stereotypes. It is these movies which depict us as savages. That civilization actually started in Africa is not what they want tp believe. They want to continue telling us that we are savages. We should resist this |
Movies can be used to both good and bad effect. They can be used to distort fact, This is the cas with District 9. |
I have in the past spoken out about Nigerian football. In my opinion, it is on the decline. The persformance of the Under-20 in Egypt should serve as a wake up call to Nigerian Football officialos. Just look at how far Ghana has gone and you begin to realise that Nigeria is indeed under threat. For the second time in a row, Nigeria may not appear in the World Cup True they will probably beat Mozambique in Abuja, and beat Kenya in Nairobi, but I also see Tunisia beat Kenya with an avalanche of goals in Tunis, and Mozambique in Maputo. Nigeria has the Under 17, which will be held in Nigeria to redeem themselves, but I am afraid this will not be enough. I can predict here that even the Under 17 will under perform. And this is very sad for such a great football nation. I have long given up on Kenyan football, sio I have always hoped to see Nigeria and support it. I must admit as a fan of the Eagles, I am very disappointed that the Eagle is no longer able to fly at all. |
No problem. Some people tend to think they are soi superior |
The movie is shot in South Africa, and potrays Nigerians as being involved in prostitution and cannibalism. I believe prostitution is a world wide problem and has been there for time immenorial. Cannibalism is no more in the modern world. And if it still does exist, I am not aware that Nigerians eat each other |
Somebody is trying to make me angry. Nigeria may be making trash, as you say, but in my mind that trash is very entertaining to many, and not just Nigerians. It includes many of us in Kenya. And if Patience OIzokwor and other actors and actresses are poor, then let them continue being poor because they still make us proud of being African. They have made many Africans start in the business of making African movies, and that includes my country Kenya, and many others. What we have are people who believe that anything and everything Western is good. I think the Kungfu movies are more amateurish that Naija movies. There are movies I would never watch, and they come from Hollywood. So shut up. If you do not like Nigerian movies, then make your own which are more professional so that we can also see them. |
District 9 is not worth watching. I have seen it and it is disgusting. All Africa should ban it. We are not cannibals |
