Thank you sweet Lady. They are not that many like her
PoliticsRe: The West Should Not Dictate To Africa by lipuka(op): 9:53am On Sep 27, 2009
We seem to think the same. Africa should be able to say no. Maybe Muammar Kaddafi is right when he talks about a United States of Africa
TV/MoviesDistrict 9 Is An Insult To Nigerians by lipuka(op): 9:24am On Sep 27, 2009
At last the Nigerian Government has come out in defense of Nigerians by banning District 9. This has clearly vindicated what I have been saying all along, about what othert people think about Nigerians.

When I first talked about prostitution in Edo State, I was insulted and called all sorts of names, even though I was not the originator of the story. And when I stated that South Africans did not think much about being Africans, I was not spared either. District Nine now shows what some people think. I am not one of these people

I love Nigerians. A look at the phonebook numbers in my six phones have 2,364 names. 872 are Nigerians. I have about 1000 friends on Facebook, and most of them are Nigerians. I do not hate Nigeria, as some have indicated.

It is interesting to note that District 9 is a hit in US of A, a country I have attacked, but which was defended by some Nigerians. I think the movie was a disgrace and in bad taste, and the Nigerian Government has done the right thing to ban it. But it should serve as a wake-up call to Nigerians. There are people who love you, and there are those who hate you. Better have a enemy who tells you the truth than a friend who lies to you
PoliticsThe West Should Not Dictate To Africa by lipuka(op): 1:05pm On Sep 25, 2009
I wish somebody could convince me I am wrong, but I am afraid it will be a tall order. Those who love everything West will have a field day insulting me, but I will not budge. The West holds us in contempt, period. To begin with, they spend a lot of their time, dictating to us on how we should manage our affairs. They tell us how we should write our new Costitutions, the kind of reforms we should put up, and how we should hold our elections. They even send observers to make sure we do as they say.

It is not a secret, that some of these Western countries do not even have written Constitutions. And as for corruption, haven't we learned all this from Britain, which has many cases of it's own? Do you ever hear of any other Western country criticising another Western country on corruption? Or that they should have reforms or write new Contitutions?

Now on the issue of contempt. These Western countries are very much familiar with diplomatic ettiquette. And that whenever there is some misunderstanding, or some issue, this is handled in a certain manner. But the West does not do this. They will have their ambassador call a Press Conference, yes, a Press Conference, and dictate to an African Government on what is to be done or else. Now let us imagine that an African Ambassador does the same in Washington, Berlin, Paris or London.

Sadly, we have fellow Africans who actually go and co-operate with the West. The Western Press may criticise their Governments, but will not do the same by accepting a foreign power. Indeed, they will take exception if some foreign body insults them. You will not hear of a politician from the West coming to Africa to criticise their Government.

What we can say from all this is that Colonialism is far from over.

One thing I amvery sure of. I will get flack from every corner about this. I will be called a he-goat, whatever that means, anti-Nigerian, you name it. But I have to say my piece. It is my rioght, even if you do not agree with me. Freedom of expression, it is called. Simply that Patience Ozonkowr is the greatest Nollywood star bar none. I am talking about greatest, not most popular or most beautiful.

This lady usually acts the part as the real person, and not because she is paid to do a job. She loves what she is doing. And that is what makes her great. Others do it for the money and fame, not this lady. She loves the parts she plays.

Lonmg after all the others are gone, people will remember Patience. For that I send her all the flowers I can afford and more. LONG LIVE PATIENCE

I would be very interested, yes. I am familiar with this thing and have some contacts with quite a few people who might be interested within East Africa
FashionRe: Africa Needs A Miss Africa Beauty Pageant by lipuka(op): 7:44am On Sep 17, 2009
Actually I agree with the as pect of promoting African culture. In fact I have indicated that the African beauty pageant would be a vehicle of promoting African culture and beauty the African way, not dictated by African values. The way wer look at beauty in Africa ius different from ther West.
BusinessRe: The Looted Goodies Of The Fatcats by lipuka(op): 8:14am On Aug 31, 2009
Well, our leaders just took advantage of a situation. I think we have worse cases in Kenya. The problem is that Naija has too many people so even a small matter seems big. And because there is oil, people tend to point at Naija more. Right now, they say Ghana is more corrupt, and yet they praise it for the manner they conducted their elections.
BusinessRe: The Looted Goodies Of The Fatcats by lipuka(op): 12:08pm On Aug 30, 2009
Naija did not start it. If you remember, our colonial masters always gave our African leaders something in exchange for favours. That is where all the corruption started.

FamilyRe: Wife-beating Is Barbaric by lipuka(op): 8:43am On Aug 19, 2009
If she is unfaithful, whether you catch her redhanded or not, she is not worth the trouble. Beating her, killing her or her lover will not make the infidelity go away. Just let her go, and hope that the lover will take her.
SportsNigerian Government Should Support Athletes by lipuka(op): 11:16am On Aug 18, 2009
I am not Nigerian, and I know of many Nigerians who would say I should keep off Nigerian affairs. But I love Africa, Nigeria included. The World athletics championships are going on in Berlin, Germany, but Nigerians are not saying much about the poor performance. They should, and if they don't I will. It was very sad to hear a Nigerian athlete, being interviewed on BBC on 17th August, and complaining of lack of support for Nigerian athletes by their Government. Nigeria is a leading sports country in Africa, with the highest population, and yet it is my country Kenya, and Ethiopia which are leading in the medal hunt. Doesn't Nigeria have an athletics association? And if it is there, what are they doing? Or did they travel to Berlin for shopping as usual?

IF THE SPORTS OFFICIALS CANNOT DO THE JOB, LET THEM RESIGN AND LEAVE THOSE WHO HAVE NIGERIA'S INTEREST AT HEART DO THE JOB

The athletes have a right to be taken care of by their Government. They love their country. That is why they dorn their country colours, even if it means they lose. We should not have athletes complaining about being neglected. And as an African, I expect Nigeria to bag medals in these games. And will cheer them just as much as I cheer athletes from Kenya
FamilyRe: Wife-beating Is Barbaric by lipuka(op): 11:00am On Aug 18, 2009
Understood Sissy. I believe that wife-beaters are corwads and have some mental problem. I have not seen my father, uncles brothers and male cousins beat their wives. When there is a problem, we discuss it as a family. We are trained to respect women
FamilyRe: Wife-beating Is Barbaric by lipuka(op): 9:05am On Aug 17, 2009
I wish I had some idiot brother who beats up his wife or girlfriend. Unfortunately the Lipuka Family does not beat theit womenfolk. Maybe I should have told Abasanjo. Frankly though, I detest this behaviour, and I have seen it too many times. Sometimes I have to mediate. I detest women who 'sit' on their husbands too
FamilyWife-beating Is Barbaric by lipuka(op): 12:56pm On Aug 16, 2009
There is this belief, that beating your wife is cultural and necessary. It may have had a place in the past. After all, Africans used to lump women and children together. We believed that women were to be seen, not to be heard, they were there for the men and to be confined in the kitchen. They were to bear as many children as possible to continue the family line. Too bad if the children were all girls.

But this is now different. Women are not punchbags. Women are just as good as men, and can infact do some things better than men, as has been proved time and again. True, women are different, but it does not make them inferior. Men and women compliment each other. One has the ability to make the other pregnant and the other has the ability to carry the child for the next nine months. We clearly need each other.

So what I am saying is that, the fact that you have paid bride price, does not mean you own the woman. It does not mean you do as you please and beat her up whenever you feel like it. In any case, a woman has many ways of getting back at you. Remember she is the only one who knows the biological father of the child you love so much. Respect her and she will be yours for life. Mistreat her and you will be a laughing stock for life
PoliticsRe: The Lies About Obama by lipuka(op): 12:37pm On Aug 14, 2009
No, I never met the stepfather or the mother. Obama himself has been to Kenya only twice, and for a very short time, on both occasions
PoliticsRe: The Lies About Obama by lipuka(op): 9:28am On Aug 13, 2009
You are right about one thing. Obama does not know me. But I knew his father. We were both working in the same Government. My dislike is based on what I know about his family. I am very well versed, thank you very much
PoliticsThe Lies About Obama by lipuka(op): 8:50am On Aug 13, 2009
As members of this forum know, I am not a fan of President Barak Obama. In fact I have written some nasty things about him. My views are very well known to many of my friends, most of whom disagree with me. But then I am entitled to my opinions. I could have misgivings too about others. But I have this big weakness, blame it on my profession if you like. I hate liars. It does not matter that they lie about a person I don't like. I tend to defend these people, even if I hate them. So I will defend Obama from some of the lies being peddled in the United States by some people there.

The simple matter is that Obama is not American born, and does not qualify to be President of the United States of America. The US Constitution dictates that one must be an American born citizen to hold that position. Apart from some birth certificates which are being circulated, these people called 'birthers' say that Omaba was actually born at a hospital called Coast General Hospital in Mombasa Kenya in 1961.

I am assuming that these people really know about Kenya. The reality is that they do not. Kenya was not independent in 1961. There was no Coast General hospital at the time. But I know there was Lady Grigg Maternity Hospital, which is barely 200 meters from the Indian Ocean. I ought to know. I come from the coast of Kenya and live just some 20 kilometers from Mombasa where the hospital is based. But not only did I grow up in Mombasa town, where my father was working, I was infact born at Lady Grigg Maternity Hospital.

In 1961, The entire Coastal strip was under the Sultan of Zanzibar following an arrangement between the Colonial Government and the Arabs, that the 10 mile (16 kilometers) strip be ruled by the Sultan. There was no Coast Province at the time! In any case, Obama's father was not even in Kenya at the time. He was in HAWAII!
BusinessHow Clean Is The Money You Handle? by lipuka(op): 11:04am On Jul 30, 2009
We handle lots of money every day. And we all love money. But how ckean is the maney? How safe is it. I think there is a real risk that the money we love so much is a health harzard.

Think of it; do you know who last touched the money, or what he/she was suffering from? And you you know how many more will touch that money after you? Think of the waiter/waitress who serves you a drink, takes your money and brings you change. Has he/she washed his/her hands after touching the money?

Just a thought
PoliticsStop The Senseless Killings Now by lipuka(op): 10:54am On Jul 30, 2009
The sectarian fighting in Northen Nigeria is an embarrassment to the great nation.

Nigerians have enough problems right now, and any kind of fighting will not help. It will 0mly add to tensions and any efforts to improve the standards of the Nigerian poor.

I am sure there are many who still remember the Biafra war, and would not like to be sent back to that era. What will happen, if the Christians in the South decide to retaliate?

Those who are financing the youths must be held responsible and punished. They should not be allowed to get away with it.

These killings are nothing but genocide and should be handled in the same manner as in Liberia, Rwanda and Kenya.

Please stop these senseless killings now before it is too late.

Inm my oipinion, thoise who are the worst, or is it the best, enemies of Nigeria, and any other African country, are those who pretend we have no problems and everything is okay. If we had people honest enough to talk abpout the issue with affect us, Africa would be a better place. We certainly wouldn't be where we are today. It is amazind that we can have Chinua Achebe and Fela Kuti coming from the same country as some people who are regular contributors here
TV/MoviesRe: The Most Beautiful Actresses In Africa Are Ghanaian by lipuka(op): 1:24pm On Jul 07, 2009
tpiah. I have been to many African countries, Nigeria included. And I will be in Nigeria in December to see how x-mas and new year are celebrated ther. I will be in Calabar by invitation. I will be in Benin where my girlfriend comes from. I hate those who tyhink they are not African and yet they live in Africa, regardless of colour. And I have seen many. I have a lot of Nigerian videso. I like Fela Kuti music. I call Nigeria virtually every day to talk to my friends. Some hold very imporetant positions in Government, and that includes one traditional chief in Yorubaland.

I have noticed that Nigerian are very toucy when something is said about them. But it is also said that Nigerians ahve a tendency not to do anything. So they get the kind of politicians they have. We in Kenya would fight. I am not saying this to insult anyone. Just to point out what is being said. I have said before, I have a bropther in law from Port Harcouret. The late Tokunbo Ajayi was a very good friend. I do not hate anyone in particular, but I like talking about things. I have a tendancy to say things that others would not like to talk about. I do not think burying my head in the sand is the way we can solve our problems. Un fortunately, many people do not see it that way. I am used to insults. I have lost friends, but I have many admirers too

There is no doubt, that Genevieve Nnja is quite beautiful. So is Mercy, and quiote a few I would not mind having a piece of, just to spend one night with. But we have to accept that each has had her time. I speak as a professional. I know quite a bit about casting, having been involved in the electronic media, and being trained in drama, among others.

One, Nigeria directors seem to agree with me. They are hard-nosed businessmen and women who must make profit. They know you cannot rely on the same faces and same formula. People soon get tired of seeing Genie and Ramsey falling in and out of love. They get tired of seeing Patience Ozonkor and Peter Edochie and their regular roles, often repeated by others.

Look at Hollywood. Thery first had the cowboys, then James Bond style movies. But these sonn bored people and they came to Africa with Tarzan. Then they came up with Jaws and all the other animals. Then science fiction, and now some even more weird movies, not to mention Dracula. They have to change.

Nigerian producers are looking for new talent and faces to keep us all addicted, else we will move elsewhere. Audience want change. Unfortunately, Ghana is now providing this change. Unfortunate for Nigerian actors and actresses, but fortunate for the directors. Eventually they will move to other countries as well, even East Africa, else they will lose their edge. It is difficult to come up with new storylines, but it is actually easier to get newer and fresh faces. That is what we are seeing. There is nothing wrong with Nigerian girls. It is just a matter of business and survival for the movie industry.

I guess it has started. Nigerian producers are working with Ghanaian Producers, we just have to start working together. Africa is still virgin country and there is the potential and market to sustain the industry
