Must you subsidise petrol....we have turned the corner already and subsidy on that commodity is gone.....there are different forms of subsidy which federal govt is still paying eg electricity tariffs,agric inputs,hiv drugs,cancer and kidney treatment etc,if you say these aren't enough then it's up to you.....basic and secondary education and health care are within the concurrent list in our constitution and more funds for state govts can enable them initiate welfarist programs in these sectors within their states.....we don't have to keep spending humongous amounts to subsidise fuel for the rich to the detriment of the poor.
