The senator was unruly and his actions are unbecoming of a senator of the FR who is supposed to be distinguished......he would have simply raised an objection to the chair of the committee and oby would have been reprimanded immediately..... there was absolutely no need for the altercation and it was a big disgrace to the senator, infact I would say oby was rather condescending and she achieved what she wanted in painting the committee as bias and wanting to intimidate the petitioners...... |

Asonaijaaso: The optics of this whole affair are not just bad—they’re damning. It doesn’t exonerate Akpabio, it implicates him further.
Let’s be clear: $5,000 was allegedly distributed to House of Reps members to secure signatures for Fubara’s suspension. That’s not just corruption—it’s organized legislative sabotage.
And yet, the EFCC constantly lectures ordinary Nigerians not to transact in USD. But somehow, every time the presidency wants to “influence” the National Assembly, it’s not with Naira… it’s with cold, hard US Dollars.
So which economy are we really running here? The Naira economy for the poor. The Dollar economy for the powerful.
It begs the question: Is the Legislative arm of government now a Trade-Free Zone? Where foreign currency flows like water and no rules apply?
If citizens are expected to transact in Naira, why is the leadership using USD as its preferred bribe tender? This dual standard exposes the real crisis: The erosion of monetary integrity at the highest levels of power. This isn't about akpabio, she's got several enemies even in her ebira stock who just want to seize the opportunity to get her out, remember she is in the opposition even in her state.....that's bello will be licking his lips and ododo the gov is more than ready to see that she is recalled.....akpabio combined with her former gov and the current one, dies she have the financial clout or political clout at the national level to fight them.......that's why wisdom is profitable to direct, choose Ur battles wisely. |

Agbegbaorogboye: You're usually having difficulty staying on point Was it legal or illegal for Ajimobi to pull down the building? Public feeling is not legality.
You write a lot but show lack of depth in understanding. When caught out of point, you delve into something else.
Can you explain the due process and democratic norm involved in pulling down a legislative institution as compared to a private building?
Let me cure your ignorance again. It is even far easier for a governor to pull down a government building than a private one because as the head of govt, he retains the right of interest and right of ownership over the building. A private building is more complex because while the gov has the right of ownership in respect of the land which gives him the right to pull down the building, the right of interest is not exclusive to him. He can easily get sued by the property owners while NO ONE can sue him in the case of a government building.
I hope you will not come at me with more poorly thought out excuse. The bottom line that you deliberately chose to be blind to is that the house was bombed. The structural experts concluded to the gov that the House did not meet structural integrity. The gov demolished it based on professional advice and another is being built in its place.
The rest is just your prejudice out of hate and bile Same Wike even pulled down another state's building in Rivers as gov, Bayelsa state to be exact. Oya com and make excuse for him. Always trying to mask Ur mischief with tautological and logically inept analogies.....you brought ajimobi into this and I already infered on the political incorrectness of that move,I am not the courts to declare anyone's act illegal but I reserve the right to infer that such indiscriminate acts by govs is wrong and fubara all ready crossed the line with those who reason like me. I have rhetorically infered this but I reckon I have basic comprehension issues or just being downright mischievous. |

You didn't open this thread. You saw it and came here to express your bile against Fubara If you don't know things stop arguing about them. The gov is empowered to demolish any building he deems fit especially in public interest. Or where did you think Ajimobi got the power to demolish Ayefele's house among other examples. Stop with the willful ignorance and hypocrisy. The 1978 land use act gives govs such powers. If you think it's an abuse of power, go to court. Fubara did not commit any sin. The sin only exist in the ignorant imagination of zombies Your infantile attempt at clutching at straws..... leaving the main issue and beating around the bush......that singular act by ajimobi was one of the major causes of his political degradation.....the people of oyo state frowned at it and made it clear.....why didn't rivers people do same to Wike? As disdainful and manifest abuse of power as these govs mentioned acts are,I will continue to say that even as you deliberately refuse to reckon just to push your saint fubara analogy which is infantile at best, pulling down a whole legislative institution and critical arm of govt without due process and proper recourse to democratic norms can't be same as pulling down private property, there is absolutely no excuse to wish away such sacrilege, couldn't even provide adequate alternatives for them to carry out their constitutionally assigned roles all because he was scared of being impeached. |

Agbegbaorogboye: You're not objective. If you are you will find out the right info before picking a side.
You were never aware that the building was bombed. You were not aware that the gov visited the building and said he'll send structural engineers to check the level of damage. You were not aware that as at 2022, the lawmakers were already complaining of the dilapidated nature of the building. You're just headlessly defending Wike and accusing fubara.
Suddenly you remember what is right and not. So what do you have to say to Wike who just went and demolished people's houses in Abuja.
So in your mind now, the police and structural experts are supposed to give you their reports as you're who again?
So what do you have to say since the building is already 80% complete? In less than 2 years of being rebuilt I can't stand reading your response beyond the first paragraph.....you are obviously biased on this and have chosen to oppose thale otherwise no matter what.......I have asked for the report on the bombing incident from police and the structural integrity test which should be public information but you haven't been able to provide it...... telling me to believe anything fubara says like he isn't a typical Nigerian politician.....you call me subjective when I have gone as far as inferring that both parties erred on this matter and I not supporting the SOE and suspension.....if you can't see and accept fubara's errors even the SC asserted then you are among those who have led fubara to his downfall. |

Fubara invited structural engineers who certified the building unfit for use. What I've noticed is that a lot of zombies are not even well informed about what happened in Rivers. They just jump on the bandwagon of the Wike team even with their ignorance just because they feel Wike is on the side of Tinubu.
To further buttress your ignorance, yes sir. The gov can wake up and declare your building unfit for human use and have it pulled down. It seems you've just been born and now unaware of how many buildings have been pulled down by govs in Nigeria including Wike himself. Even as FCT minister he's still pulling buildings down.
I'm sure you're intentionally blind to that cause it suits your bias. If an agreement is detrimental to the people, the constitution, convictions, oath of office and personal contrition. Should it still be honored?
Personally this saga has opened my eyes to the multifaceted nature of our problems.
Nigerians don't want a good society, they just want someone they know to access the treasury, by hook or crook and share. David Cameron couldn’t have said it better- “fantastically corrupt.”
How we are not vexed that people can boldly speak of putting others in office, like we run an oligarchy or monarchy is bemusing. Instead we vilify the unwilling or repentant subject for turning a new leaf.
Even the 3 wisemen in the Bible didn’t honor their promises to Herod because of his inimical intent. So what do we actually pray for concerning Nigeria as Christians and Muslims? To change whose heart?
Just the other day in Lagos, a group of men voiced their position beyond the veil as being the grundnorm of authority in the Lagos assembly and no one sees the inanity in their statement. Same in kogi, an ex-governor uses the current governor as a vassal and no one sees anything wrong with it. And now port harcourt.
This is sad.
We lack norms, we lack values, we lack integrity.
