I made a proposition one time that Osun state could assign a thousand hectares per lg to youths in that lg for farming...if every state for instance can replicate that for cassava and maize farming alone..... everywhere would be awash with food.

This particular LG autonomy would be a game changer, if LGs in Lagos they can be further enabled, development would come faster to the grass roots.....roads, education,health care, security that are within the purview of those LG.

States and LGs can have multiple accounts in multiple banks while designating a specific account for FG allocations.

FG's job is to send money to their designated bank account, but LGs are regulated by state assemblies.

If FG sends them money, state assembly can ask them to make funds available in a specified joint bank account with the state.

Anambra state lawmakers already passed a LG Administration Law last year after the SC ruling, mandating LGs to deposit money allocated by FG into a Joint Account with the state. The state will deduct a percentage and send the rest to the LG.

If people begin to see the benefits,it would be a very good campaign point to vote out any gov that tries to hijack LG funds.....LGs in Lagos are already doing so much in terms of road infrastructure and health care......I can personally attest to that.

It's not possible,I don't know about your LG but for mine....it's not possible,the chairman dear not trying that...... people will now start taking LG elections more seriously because the stakes are higher,my chairman's family house is a stone throw from mine and we can easily access it any time also the LG secretariat is right there in our midst and all those who work there.

Go to your LG and be a stake holder......since you can't affect anything in Abuja.....the major reason you are all complaining money isn't getting to the masses is because of the type of system we run where everyone defers to Abuja and only 36 govs living like emperors......we can go to our LG and sit on same table with the chairman and discuss development,his family,friends all live within same LG,he has history and background from same LG.....he is easier to question and approach.....at least I can,if you can't.
