Everything to bring tinubu govt down even if it means killing your brother.....shame of shettima who was chief security officer for 8 years in same Borno and cannot understand and find a solution to this menace now that he is number 2.....if he can't bring peace to Borno how can he be trusted with Nigeria. |

For every effort you put in your work every day,it's bourne out of hope to reap the rewards as appropriate......hope begets believe and nations have survived today with the hope that their existence and rights would be guaranteed by the state......it's one of the creeds the US was founded upon ....you can be as narcissistic as you want.....we know whom we voted for and why and we also know magic can't happen overnight but we could start with these little steps. |

Hoelujohn: This is what I expect from government instead of giving out 50k as empowerment. Mass food production. If every local government train 1000 youths in farming and produce land, in two years, we will be exporting food I made a proposition one time that Osun state could assign a thousand hectares per lg to youths in that lg for farming...if every state for instance can replicate that for cassava and maize farming alone..... everywhere would be awash with food. |

That Is What The Northern Governor Suppose Do.
Imagine If All Local Government In Nigeria Are Mandated To cultivate 50 acres Each.
We will produce Enough food and export.

Even before actual implementation has commenced, we have those of you who would turn praise singers on the dime. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 It's because we can see the big picture and not narrow minded chauvinistic ideologues.....tinubu is doing the things he promised in his campaigns,he is definitely walking the talk that's why we voted for him. This particular LG autonomy would be a game changer, if LGs in Lagos they can be further enabled, development would come faster to the grass roots.....roads, education, health care, security that are within the purview of those LG. |

Politics › Re: FAAC: FG Establishes Team To Directly Distribute Funds To 774 LGAs Nationwide by Lithiumite: 8:56am On Jan 13, 2025 |
givedemwotowoto: States and LGs can have multiple accounts in multiple banks while designating a specific account for FG allocations.
FG's job is to send money to their designated bank account, but LGs are regulated by state assemblies.
If FG sends them money, state assembly can ask them to make funds available in a specified joint bank account with the state.
Anambra state lawmakers already passed a LG Administration Law last year after the SC ruling, mandating LGs to deposit money allocated by FG into a Joint Account with the state. The state will deduct a percentage and send the rest to the LG.
https://punchng.com/soludo-signs-anambra-lg-law-says-absolute-lg-autonomy-would-create-chaos/
Highlights of the bill:
Section 13(1) of the bill provides that the state shall maintain a “State Joint Local Government Account,” into which all federal allocations to local governments in Anambra State must be deposited.
Section 14(3) of the bill stipulates that each local government in the state must remit a state-determined percentage to the consolidated account within two working days of receiving their allocations from the Federation Account.
Section 14(4) maintains that if the state receives the local government allocation on their behalf, it must deduct the specified percentage before disbursing the remaining funds to the local governments.
https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/743762-despite-supreme-court-ruling-anambra-introduces-bill-for-deductions-of-lg-funds.html It would be a very good campaign point to vote out soludo.....any candidate that can promise LG autonomy in their state would gain a lot of support......your money doesn't have to sit in awka but should come directly to you in the grassroot. |

Kobojunkie: 1. I am not certain I understand what you mean.
2. Maintaining multiple accounts? I don't follow. If people begin to see the benefits,it would be a very good campaign point to vote out any gov that tries to hijack LG funds.....LGs in Lagos are already doing so much in terms of road infrastructure and health care......I can personally attest to that. |

givedemwotowoto: It’s difficult to achieve full LG autonomy with the current constitution. No matter what you do, the state assemblies can pass a law that mandates the state and LG accounts to be put together when it arrives the state., or laws that limit the extent to which LG chairmen can spend funds We need to start from somewhere.....and it used to be like that under the military even up untill obj. |
