LAFIA — Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has announced Emmanuel Michael Ombugadu as the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state ahead of the 2027 general election.

Sule announced the decision after an APC stakeholders’ meeting held at the Governor’s Lodge in Abuja on Monday.

He said the aspirants had agreed to support whoever emerged, in line with the approach adopted by the party in selecting its governorship candidate.

“We had a couple of people eminently qualified, and every one of them made a decision similar to what we did with the gubernatorial election, that whoever is selected among them, they would all rally and support that person.

“So at the end of the decision, it was agreed that Honourable Emmanuel Ombugadu will be our deputy gubernatorial candidate of the party,” Sule said.

The governor commended party stakeholders for attending the meeting despite the short notice, explaining that the venue was moved to Abuja because of his official engagements, including the North Central Development Commission summit where he served as Chief Host.

He also cited his scheduled departure for the United Nations General Assembly session in New York.

Sule urged APC members to remain united ahead of the 2027 general election, stressing the need for the party to approach the polls as a united force.

“We cannot go into these elections divided. That is the reason we invited this meeting, so that we can keep together, make a decision together, and go together,” he said.

Also speaking, the APC governorship candidate, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, expressed satisfaction with the choice of Ombugadu as his running mate, saying the decision reflected the position of the party leadership and zoning considerations.

“I feel happy, I feel committed, and of course fulfilled to have him as my deputy gubernatorial candidate, because it is the decision of the party and the leadership,” Wadada said.

He appealed to other aspirants who had sought the position to accept the outcome in the interest of party unity.

“I call on all others too, particularly my brother Dr Kigbu, who everybody thought would get it, to accept this as the will of God. Together we shall weather the storm,” he said.

In his response, Ombugadu thanked Sule and other party stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him, describing the decision as difficult but necessary for the cohesion of the party.

“I feel highly elated, and I take it as the will of God for me to be in this capacity. I thank the Governor and all the stakeholders of the state for this very critical decision,” he said.

Ombugadu acknowledged that some of his colleagues who also aspired to be selected had been aggrieved by the outcome, but said they had pledged their loyalty to the party.

Tinubu is borrowing like a drunken sailor despite paying no subsidies but somehow, his lackeys want to make loans acquired by others as a campaign point against them? Surreal. Lagos was the most indebted state in Nigeria under Tinubu and still holds that record till today.

Shows how dangerously inept you are in matters of governance and you will come out to tell us you know who is going to fix the country... how can you fix anything with so much ignorance, because tinubu isn't paying subsidies that money should be enough to get everything done......how more myopic can you guys be.

Obi the smart onitsha trader,he said he paid every kobo due while he was leaving office his obidient mob are clapping but smarter people can see the innuendo in that statement........there were contracts that would have been issued by obi has gov but weren't completed before he left office and perhaps haven't been paid till date,soludo is right to say he is paying off those obligations.

Sofar, H.E Peter Obi has demonstrated to be the most strategic politician amongst the top 3 contenders, with block votes from 2 regions in the bag, SE, SS. viable middle belt split (NC), with significant in-road into the core north (NE, NW). Lagos (in the bag as usual), Abuja is home.

Balabluuu has proven to be a failure to leadership and has become highly unpopular and unsellable to the Nigerian electorate.

Marafa is a known noise maker even when he was in apc but he is no match for yari,dauda,marewalle,yerima,shikafi all combined......the gov is equally from same senatorial district,zamfara central......zamfara is apc top to bottom.

No shaking in zamfara, sokoto, jigawa,kano,kebbi,katsina and uba will do far better in Kaduna than that midget el rufai.

For NE,the only states up for question are only 2,Gombe because the govs actions may cost the party and adamawa because thats atiku's state also bauchi can swing anyway.

For NC,kwara,kogi,niger,plateau,benue are all in the bag,nassarawa is just one crazy state that can swing anywhere due to the cosmopolitan nature of nassarawa west that votes majorly along with Abuja,but I still think apc can nick it.

Dont get over yourself, go check that of the US for companies listed on the NYSE,it currently stands at $2.74 trillion.......america didn't go through any subsidy removal regime or currency float but are recording humongous volumes in unsold goods.

If you were intelligent enough and not being utterly malignant, you can see dangote cement at the top of the list,you can see the main reason for that is the increase in prices of cement, other competitors have lower unsold inventory.

Also note,this companies mentioned have maintained profitability despite all this,if the economy was that terrible the ngx itself wouldn't have grown this big,it shows nothing but proof that our manufacturing sector is expanding and capable of meeting our demands and the entire west and central Africa economies.

Businessman and Chairman of Dangote Industries, Aliko Dangote, has praised President Bola Tinubu for what he described as bold moves in the Nigerian economy.

Dangote expressed his appreciation to Tinubu for removing fuel subsidy, liberalising the exchange rate and supporting the development of his refinery.

“I want to Thank President Tinubu for taking bold moves by removing the subsidy, by democratizing the exchange rate, and also for this refinery.”

His comments have since sparked reactions online, with some Nigerians questioning his praise of the President and arguing that the policies have placed pressure on ordinary citizens.

Others suggested that Dangote’s support for the reforms could be linked to the benefits they have brought to his business.

I want to Thank President Tinubu for taking bold moves by removing the subsidy, by democratizing the exchange rate, and also for this refinery.

Most governors couldn't pay salaries because they mainly depended on allocation from fg instead of putting on their thinking caps to generate revenues from alternative sources.

How much did you care about those civil servants that went home every month without pay,youbwish they remained in penury while you are driving your cars around showing off with givt subsidised petrol you couldn't afford on your own......same for the farmers,you rather they keep selling their hard earned produce for death cheap so you can be filling your table with food while they remain in penury.....a cattle breeder is far richer today than he was,same for the cassava seller,pepper seller etc.

Osun state,ekiti state that are major civil service states are enjoying the benefits of Tinubu's reforms.

Again for PO's case you people keep harping on Fidelity forgetting that the Anambra funds have always been in Fidelity even before PO became governor also note that he also kept funds in Access and Diamond Bank. Fidelity became Anambra's preferred bank from the days of Mbadinuju that is why in Onitsha they have 9branches no bank has more than 3.

Thats why fg had a bigger wage bill,a larger debt servicing bill which covers interventions across all the states,larger insfrastructure projects,tinubu alone is doing well over 3,500 kms of roads as we speak.

More hospitals,more schools,NELFUND, national security bill including local policing that should be the job of the sub nationals but arent doing.

Refineries they have been fixing since the 90s,I was still in school that have been hearing about Refineries turn around maintainable all to no avail,almost 4 decades running even diezani said the Refineries were a total disaster and couldn't be resuscitated......
