Nations are built on competitive advantage. Government grow economies by making it's citizens rich so that when they are asked to pay taxes it doesn't become a burden.

The idea of local refining is to grow local energy production capacity, get relevant know-how for future energy companies, make energy affordable for Nigerians.
However this government percieve every transaction as a tax venture.

Nigerians were supposed to enjoy the fact that we could control all the supply chain factors for fuel energy. Instead they say it as a massive tax avenue.
Now every manufacturer, service provider and local enterprise is struggling to survive.

Energy is the driver of all economics.

You need to go back and study the nigerian oil and gas economy.......once subsidy is reintroduced ,investments in local refineries will seize,the PIA bill will become dead as its major objectives would have been undermined.

The very reason dangote went ahead with the refinery was because he got assurances from the buhari govt that subsidyvwas going to end......without that ,the refinery would just have been an idea on paper.

had to deplete the foreign reserves to do that so you can keep importing all manner of rubbish while your local industries suffered,rinubu should keep subsidising the dollar by about a billion dollars monthly so you rich people can be sending your children to schools abroad while universities in Nigeria suffer from paucity of funds to do anything,even pay salaries so ASUU can keep going on strikes.......you can take your family on vacation abroad and gfs on shopping sprees whike the poor man doesn't even have good roads to take his farm produce to the market.

soas int'l price is $96 now and our budget mark is $65 .. Dangote get crude at $65 and he is free to sell at ideal profit so how is that going to hurt the refinery

NURPC quotes that from 2021 we were loosing over 100k barrels daily but currently its less than 10k.......acknowledge the positives of this govt,then we could be ready to listen to ur own candidate.

Watch oil theft increase once atiku brings back subsidy.....the incentive to steal will be much higher amd this will cause disruption in production there bleeding the country much needed resources.
