lexy2014: bros, you failed to answer the questions I asked and negate the points I raised.
tinubu getting certain things right? de there de deceive yourself.
states that say they cant pay 70k min wage, how will they fund state police?
you dont know tinubu. he has thrown this one to you so that you can be distracted from the fuel suffering he just introduced.
you are expecting a man with no iota of honesty, patriotism, competence or empathy to do anything for the right purpose?
all the best with believing tinubu You are only spinning your own narrative to an imperative action that would set the ground norm for a great country we all seek just because I hate tinubu's face......it doesn't matter who does it so far it's what will augur well for us all,it's long over due .....with this policy, the power of Abuja will be greatly diminished and more responsibility given to states. As for state that can't take on 70k minimum wage,I already told you that is a very lame escapist analogy by the lazy govs who want status quo to remain to their own benefit.....if you support them good luck to you!! No gov has no excuse not to pay 70k minimum wage......there will be a provision in the law that will make states start state policing when they are ready to,such states will still make use of the federal police buts states that can would be allowed to go ahead. Hate tinubu all you want but he is one of the most purposeful politicians we have in the south alongside Wike, they are bold and have the political will to push anything they want unlike GEJ.....nobody can push them around remember it was Wike that brought up the vat matter, tinubu has brought lg autonomy and state police, this are what we need to set us on a pedestal for development no more Abuja controling what happens in your LGA. |

Kobicove: Leave all this story, state police will not work in a country like Nigeria where an average citizen is very tribalistic.
If you are a Yoruba person living in a state in the south east and you have a dispute with an Igbo person who is an indigene and the case is taken to the state police they will automatically support their brother; the same thing would happen if an Igbo or Hausa person living in Yorubaland or another region has a case with a native of that area.
Then when it's time for election the incumbent governor will use the apparatus of state police to hound his political opponent.
Some of the state in Nigeria are not even economically viable and are having difficulty paying their civil servants and now you people want to add the salaries of state policemen to it.
Most of you people supporting creation of state police do not even fully understand the implications of what you are supporting! Stop procrastinating......if you don't want it in Ur state I want it in mine.....we are no more ethno religiously bias than an average American.....there are class struggles still going on the developed world till today and there is also deep seated animosity and divide among races and ethnicities in america just as we have here but what keeps them in check are the strong institutions they have and that has evolved over centuries.....that also started from somewhere and didn't become perfect overnight.....we shouldn't be afraid to start too. |

Sleekfingers: And what do you expect states Governors to do, to fold their arms and let criminals take over their various states? No doubt , some state Governors might misused it. But state police is a welcome development. Nigeria is under police. So state police is necessary. That's why I laugh at all this people always criticising tinubu for Nigeria's problems.....it's obvious they don't deep understanding understand of what our problems really are as a country and the sad thing is that they are in the majority and don't know anything about how development comes about. |

all the best with believing tinubu Leaders with foresight is what we have been lacking as a country but this one seems to have the political will to right some wrongs we have been suffering for a long time......you have heard stories of certain tribes killing certain locals over land or livestock, the CP or gov can't act immediately to check them because they have to await directive from Abuja which may be delayed or may never come.....that's the problem we are facing with our current security architecture. Govs for too long have been hiding under Abuja and pointing fingers to cover their own ineptitude now they are getting blown out of the water as more responsibility is being pushed to them, how can a gov say he can't pay 70k minimum wage and you agree with him, that's nothing but BS,if you aren't competent, leave the damn place for those who can. I tell you, this policing move and LG autonomy are the game changers that would steer us towards wholistic development as a country especially the sub nationals......some regions are contributing so much to our GDP while some are doing absolutely nothing....we cant continue like this....... everything isn't tinubu,Buhari or Jonathan,Nigeria as a country is defective and we need to start changing things for our own good. |

Kobicove: I will never support state police in Nigeria cos I know it will not end well! Then you aren't ready to solve Nigeria's problems.....the neo colonialist police establishment we currently run is absolutely dysfunctional and is one of the roots of our problems as a country.....Abuja controls everything, this needs to stop.....with state police locals would be the once doing the policing, they would reside in their domains with their families and would be properly vested in the locality......the reason our leaders get away with what they do is because yhey can easily run to abuja for protection over what is happening in ikor abassi but with this new approach thats no more. |

post=131869697: You are right from the perspective you are coming from also Mytime, We believed that Our politicians are not civilised enough and tolerant of opposing views and cannot preside over a competent and impartial police force Cos we remembered, When in 2018 there was a summit to consider the establishment of State Police, there was a counter argument by the late Abubakar Tsav, a retired police commissioner, that the establishment of state police will signal the beginning of the disintegration of the country, as governors would use the institution against their perceived political opponents. State and federal police commands are also likely to work at cross-purpose.
Our additional reasons of concern are that we have very serious ethnic and religious divides in the country at this time and many governors believe that if they have their own police, they can deal with the other. For example, the pastoralists and farmers conflicts have been intensifying in many states and some governors have clear proclivities of seeking to expel or protect pastoralists in their states, opening the doors to a new dimension of identity conflicts that would deepen the crisis facing the Nigerian state today.
Some of us at MANNA remembered back then while growing up when we use to have regional/state police back in our darling country, But, native police forces were abolished and they ceased to exist, beginning from February 1968. Nevertheless, existing personnel in these forces were recruited into the Nigerian Police Force as a unitary federal agency of the Nigerian government. This structure has continued to the present day.
All said and done, It will bring more good than bad. There are much more merits in this than demerits.
A better Nigeria 🇳🇬 all around is all we want at MANNABBQGRlLLS. God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬 🙏 We Rise ✔️ State policing is the right way to go,infact every southerner should welcome this....this is true federalism taking shape.....no gov can use state police against the people as those who would be used would be locals in the states where everyone knows everyone..... security operatives would reside in their domains with their families, this wil bring about better synergy between the police and the people, they would be known by the people they are protecting.....the reason politicians get away with the malfeasance they commit is because they are far from the people and can easily run to abuja for protection but with yhis new approaches together with LG Autonomy, power is gradually coming to the people. |

SocialJustice: State police is the next disaster waiting to happen to Nigeria. It's the best thing that would happen together with full LG autonomy...... people who reason like you obviously don't know that Nigeria's problem is systemic and we can't achieve anything with this defective structure we are having. OkCornel: Stories stories stories
Dear Jagaban lovers,
What is the progress update on Tinubu’s eight point agenda he promised Nigerians in 2023? This is over one year now. How far?
1. food security; 2. poverty eradication; 3. growth, 4. job creation; 5. access to capital; 6. inclusion; 7. rule of law; and 8. fighting corruption
https://punchng.com/translating-tinubus-8-point-agenda-to-recovery/?amp
What about the 50 million jobs promised between 2023 to 2026? How many has Tinubu and his government created?
https://www.nairaland.com/7821154/tinubu-sets-3-year-economic-revival Food security - this is a work in progress as the damage that had been done to that sector over the years cannot be solved in just 12 months.however we know serious effort is being geared towards achieving this, you need to contact NADF,normal and so many agric funds out there. Poverty eradication - there is no way you can eradicate poverty if you are not productive, many of Nigeria's human capital are in the wrong and minimally productive spheres in the economy, many of the okada, danfo and keke operators would have been more productive working on their farms or factories but they rather prefer to take those menial jobs than being productive. Job creation - there has always been jobs but the problem we have is under employment.....I still haven't seen anyone who is ready to work and earn a living who doesn't have somewhere to go to do that.....I repeat,I still haven't seen anyone.....infact unemployment rates is worse abroad with many living on govt support abroad than we have here......there is work for anyone who really wants to work. Access to capital- there is far higher access to capital in Nigeria today than it was 10 years ago, take that to the bank. Your other points raised are rather too lucid to be responded to. |

When you understand that it is only govt borrowers that profit during inflation you now see why your MPR has to increase every month. I am not sure you read that article? |

nwirinedu: Tanks were meant for storage, there has to be need for storage facilities of products. I find the comment made by Otedola telling the tank farm owners to sell their tanks as scrap insulting especially when his beloved friend has yet to produce any real evidence of trucks loading products and actually getting it delivered to filling stations.
If fuel is really being refined, then by this time tomorrow most of the queues in Lagos should disappear.
You can bluff on things like this if it is really working it will show, period. You have a right to be as pessimistic as you want but need u know when it starts getting compulsive......dangote himself put his integrity on the line and came out to address the world about commencement of pms roll out and you still are this obstinate......I am sorry,i can't help u. Those tank farms were an abeyance that should never have happened in the first place but due to the dysfunctional rent seeking economy we run,we had no need for them.....the refineries alone have storage and we have depots all over the country built for this purpose....no sane business man would go into the business of building tank farms anymore. |
