Religion / The Baptism Of Jesus Christ: Why Was Jesus Baptized? by live4dgospel(m): 1:25pm On Mar 10 |
The Baptism of Jesus Christ: Why Was Jesus baptized? John the Baptist was a human being like us. He was also marked with sins and weaknesses. However, he also believed in the Saviour Jesus Christ who would come, be baptized by him and crucified and rise again to solve away all his sins and the sins of the whole world. On the other hand, Jesus Christ is God Himself who came wearing our human flesh. Because John the Baptist realized that he was lowly man before Jesus Christ. He could not understand why a lowly man like him could lay his hands on God's head to baptize Him. As a man he was wondering why he himself must do this, and whether or not there's no other way for Jesus Christ to take away the sins of the world. But could there be any other way for the sins of the world to passed onto Jesus Christ? No, because the Old Testament's sacrificial system of laying on of hand is a shadow of Jesus Christ baptism. So Jesus Christ commanded John the Baptist saying “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him. (Matthew 3:15) In this verse Jesus said "for thus", this means "in this way", "there is no other way but this". Like this Jesus Christ Himself told John the Baptist to go ahead and lay his two hands on His head and baptize Him so that He could receive all the sins of the whole world onto Himself. He said there was no other way He could have all the sins of the world sins transfer to His body except through His baptism. And John allowed Jesus to be baptized by him. Then the next day after baptizing Jesus Christ, John witnessed as He saw Him walking by and said to people around him "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." (John 1:29). John the Baptist could bear such witness because he actually passed the sins of the world onto Jesus's head through the baptism he gave Him just 'yesterday.' Furthermore, before Jesus Christ was crucified He went to a place called Gethsemane. There He prayed to God Father three times for the cup of the suffering of crucifixion to be taken away from Him. He was also asking God the Father whether or not there could not be another way for the judgment of sins to be paid apart from crucifixion. Jesus Christ came in likeness of human flesh, He could understand the pains He was about to suffer in His flesh. But just as there is no other way for Jesus to take away our sins except through the baptism He received from John the Baptist, there is also no other way for Him to pay the wages of the sins except through His death on the Cross. Like this, the gospel of the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River and His blood of the Cross is as clear as crystal. The faith in the baptism of Jesus Christ is necessary to our salvation. Religion / Who Is The Lost Sheep In The Parable Of The Lost Sheep? by live4dgospel(m): 7:39am On Jan 02 |
Jesus Christ is looking for His lost sheep and He has commanded us the believers in the gospel of the water and the Spirit in this age and time to help Him find them. But when we rather find those who are not lost, we have to plough their hearts first, because unless people know about their fundamental sinful nature, Jesus Christ will not call them even if He wants to do so. In the parable of the lost sheep (Luke 15:1-7), one out of the hundred sheep was lost, found and delivered by the Lord. To you my online friends, I want to ask you a question. Which one are you? Are you the lost sheep or one of the ninety-nine just sheep who need no repentance? Those who are lost sheep before Jesus Christ are those who know that they are sinners who deserve to be cast into hell for their sins. They are the ones who mourn over the sins they commit while living in this world and seek the salvation of God. But ninety-nine sheep who were not lost are the sinners who do not know about their sins and the judgement of their sins.In other words, they are the self-righteous people. If the Shepherd leaves ninety-nine sheep in the forest to look for one lost sheep, what will happen to the ninety-nine sheep? They will all die of hunger or be destroyed by ravenous wolves. Jesus Christ will not save those who think they are righteous if even He wants unless they plough their hearts first. When we the believers in the gospel of the water and the Spirit meet those who are not the lost sheep, we have to let them know about their sins and the law of God because Jesus Christ is looking for those who know how sinful they are and wants to save them with His baptism at the Jordan River and His blood of the Cross. Jesus Christ does not mind pushing the sheep who were not lost into ocean and casting them into hell if they ever become an obstacle to the salvation of one lost sheep. So then, have you become a lost sheep before our Shepherd Jesus Christ, the Son of God? Jesus Christ is looking for you with the gospel of the water and the Spirit. Jong to learn more about the gospel of the water and the Spirit through which Jesus Christ saves His lost sheep. www.bjnewlife.org |

I became interested in placing ad on Nairaland, I have been using Facebook for a while but I decided to also place ad on Nairaland to target more Nigerians. My ad banner has been approved today but I am shocked when I was told to start by paying whooping N20, 000 as a minimum deposit. I am currently on low budget, and I want to place ad on Religion section for just a week as a start, this section has been vacant for a while now. I learned that it costs about N2, 600 to run ad on this section for one week, why should I start by paying N20, 000? Please help. And I think Nairaland is one of the top website in Nigeria, why do they accept payment in such a crude way: bank deposit and call/send receipt for confirmation? Instead of live funding of account like Facebook, using card payment or bank transfer/deposit. I am new to advertisement here, it looks strange to me. I am waiting for a positive response from you. @Seun @Moderators |

What Shall We Do If We Were Forsaken by the Lord On the Last Day? Matthew 7:21-23 “How are you, Lord? Back when I was living on the earth, I always thought that You were beautiful, but it’s even a greater honor for me to finally meet You like this. Thank You, Lord. You’ve saved me like this. And though I might have a few sins with me, since I believe in You, I am sure that I’ve been saved. Well, I will then now go to the beautiful place that You’ve prepared for me over there. Farewell, and I’ll see You again later.” As this person tries to leave His presence, the Lord calls them back, as He has a few words to say to them. “But hold on! Those with sin cannot go to that place!” “Well, it’s true that I still have my sins with me, but I think that I can still go there, since I believe in Jesus as my Savior.” “No, that is not how it works! You still have your sins with you, don’t you?” “Well, yes. I still have my sins.” “So how can you even dare to go to the place that I’ve prepared only for the sinless? Hark! Throw this guy into the never-ending fire to suffer forever! And before they do this, you should confess your sins first.” Then, the man comes to confess all the sins that he had committed before with his mouth wide open and without hesitation, saying, “Well, when I was living in the past world, I committed such and such sins….” The Lord then says to him, “Okay, that’s enough. You are more than qualified to go to hell. Since you have sins, go to hell, where it’s nice and warm for such a man like you.” “What? But back in the world I believed in You! I prophesied in Your name! I witnessed to so many people! I sold my house to serve You; I helped orphans so much; I diligently went to every morning prayer meeting; I healed many sick people; I fasted for you and sacrificed so much for you!” For all sinners, whether they had believed in Jesus or not, if they did not believe in Jesus within the truth of the gospel of the water and the Spirit, then they are all bound to be cast into this place of everlasting fire. In Jeremiah 17:1, God said, “The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron; With the point of a diamond it is engraved On the tablet of their heart, And on the horns of your altars.” Judah here refers to the royal tribe among the Israelites, and God used this word to represent the people of all Israel. And further more, it applies to all human beings, as the Bible stands for the Representative Principle; for example, Adam is invoked as the representative of mankind (Romans 5:18). Diamonds are crystalline forms of carbon cube, and they are the hardest natural substance known in the world. So when it says here that people’s sins are written on the tablets of their hearts with the point of such a diamond, this cannot be erased unless they are washed clean from all their sins by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. Therefore, for the sinners who have not yet received the remission of their sins, all the sins that they have committed are written on the tablets of their hearts. No matter how they might be well-versed in systematic theology, are experts in the Calvinist theology, hold doctorate degrees in theology, teach theology at seminaries as professors, or hold high positions in churches, the sins that are written on the tablets of their hearts cannot be blotted out by believing anything other than the gospel of the water and the Spirit. This is why when such people pray to God, we see them confessing themselves to be sinners, for the tablets of their hearts are filled with their sins. All who seek to blot out the sins that are written on the tablets of their hearts, no matter who they are, must believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, that Jesus has saved them in the most appropriate and fitting way, by taking away all their sins through the baptism that He received from John and the blood that He shed on the Cross. Then, their names can be written into the Book of Life, and only then can they become the people of God. Learn more about the gospel of the water and the Spirit in detail, go to www.bjnewlife.org |

Dtruthspeaker: Unfortunately none of your quotations about "commandment" talks about the law given through Moses. This is where your mistaken faith originates from. What is the "commandment" in your quotations? The commandment is to defend and preach the gospel of the water and the Spirit to every nation of the earth while loving our fellow saints and sinners who are yet to be saved. Even your verses contradict you. Verse 5 makes it clear what the commandment is " And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another." This is the old commandment Jesus gave His disciples in the beginning before He ascended to Heaven. Matthew 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, As well in James 2, James was addressing those who think they are obeying the law without realising how much they are breaking it instead. He said anyone who wants to justified by the law must obey the law 100%, otherwise the person will be cursed. The question is who is obeying the law perfectly? If you have understanding, you would have understood verse 12 of that James "So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty." In this verse 12, the purpose of James writing was clearly shown. Jesus said if you love me keep my commandment, I have already explained to you His commandment: Believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, defend it, love your brethren, and show your love to sinners by preaching the gospel so that they too will be saved. |
Religion / Re: Are You Not Being Beaten To Death By The Law? by live4dgospel(m): 9:40am On Jun 06, 2021 |
Dtruthspeaker: The law is holy and good but no man can keep it to be redeemed. And there is no place in the Bible where the Apostles or Jesus said we must keep the law to be saved. If you have any please refer me to it... Rather Apostles made it known to us in many places that we are saved by faith and not by keeping the law: Romans 3:21 "But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets," Romans 3:27-28 "Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law." Romans 4:13-15 "For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression." Romans 8:3-4 "For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." James 2:10 "For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all." Galatians 2:21 "I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.” Galatians 3:10-14 "For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” Yet the law is not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by them.” Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree” ), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." Galatians 3:19-25 "What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor." |
Religion / Are You Not Being Beaten To Death By The Law? by live4dgospel(m): 11:11pm On Jun 05, 2021 |
"A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead” (Luke 10:30). Jesus told the lawyer this parable to awaken him from the fact that he suffered all his life, just as this man was beaten by thieves and almost died. A man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho. Jericho represents the secular world while Jerusalem represents the city of religion; the city of faith, populated with the boasters of the law. This story tells us that if we believe in Christ in just a religious way, we will be ruined. “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.” Jerusalem was a big city with a large population. There was a high priest, a host of priests, Levites and many outstanding men of religion there. There were many who knew the Law well. There, they tried to live up to the Law, but eventually failed and headed for Jericho. They kept falling into the world (Jericho) and could not avoid meeting thieves. The man also met thieves on the way from Jerusalem to Jericho and was stripped of his clothes. ‘To be stripped of his clothes’ means that he lost his righteousness. It is impossible for us to live by the Law, to live up to the Law. The Apostle Paul said in Romans 7:19-20, “For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.” I wish I could do good and live in His words. But in the heart of a man are evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murder, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness (Mark 7:21-23). Because they are in our hearts and come out now and then, we do what we will not to do and we do not do what we should do. We keep repeating those evils in our hearts. What the devil has to do is to give us only a small stimulus to sin. It is said in Mark 7, “There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him those are the things that defile a man.” Jesus is telling us that there are evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murder, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, and an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness in the heart of a man. We all have murder in our hearts. There is no one who does not murder. Mothers yell at their children, “No. Don’t do that. I told you not to do that, damn you. I told you over and over not to do that. I’m going to kill you if you do that again. I said don’t do that.” That is murder. You might have killed your children in your mind with your thoughtless words. Our children must be alive because they run away from us so swiftly; but if we had let out all our anger on them, we may have killed them. Sometimes we scare ourselves. “Oh my God! Why did I do that?” We look at the bruises after hitting our children and think that we must have been crazy to do that. We cannot but act that way because we have murder in our hearts. So, ‘I do what I will not to do’ means that we do evil because we are evil. It is so easy for Satan to tempt us to sin. Let’s say that a man who has not been redeemed sat in a hut for 10 years, facing a wall and meditating like Sungchol, the late great Korean monk. It is fine while he is sitting with his face to the wall, but someone has to bring him food and take away his excrement. He has to have contact with someone. It would not be a problem if it was a man, but let’s suppose it was a beautiful woman. If he happened to see her by chance, all of the time he spent sitting would have been in vain. He may think, “I should not commit adultery; I have it in my heart, but I have to blot it away. I have to drive it out. No! Get out of my mind!” But his determination is evaporated the moment he sees her. After the woman leaves, he looks into his heart. Five years of his ascetic exercises turns into nothing, all for naught. It is so simple for Satan to take away a person’s righteousness. All that Satan has to do is give him/her a little push. When a person struggles not to sin without being redeemed, he/she keeps falling into sin instead. That person may pay the tithe faithfully every Sunday, fast for 40 days, offer 100 days of dawn prayers...etc. But Satan tempts and deceives him/her with the seemingly good things in life. “I would like to give you an important position in the company, but you are a Christian and you cannot work on Sundays, can you? It is such a great position. Maybe you could work 3 Sundays and go to church just once a month. Then, you would enjoy such high prestige and have a big fat paycheck. How about it?” At this, probably 100 out of 100 people would be bought. If that doesn’t work, Satan plays another trick on people who are easily trapped in lust for women. Satan puts a woman in front of him and he falls head over heels in love, forgetting God in an instant. That is how the righteousness of man is stripped. If we try to live by the Law, all we have in the end are the wounds of sin, pain and spiritual poverty; we lose all righteousness. “Went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.” This means that though we may try to stay in Jerusalem by living by the will of Holy God, we will stumble time after time because of our weaknesses and will eventually be ruined. You may still pray in repentance before God. “Lord, I have sinned. Please forgive me; I shall never do it again. I promise you that this will really be the last time. I beg and implore you to forgive me just this once.” But it never lasts. People cannot live in this world without sinning. They may be able to avoid it a couple of times, but it would be impossible not to sin again. So, we cannot help but to repeatedly commit sins. “Lord, please forgive me.” If this goes on, they will drift away from the church and their religious lives. They drift away from God because of their sins and eventually end up in hell. To travel to Jericho means to fall into the secular world; getting closer to the world and farther away from Jerusalem. In the beginning, Jerusalem is still closer, but as the cycle of sinning and repenting is repeated, we find ourselves standing in the downtown of Jericho; fallen deeply into the world. Religion / Who Can Gratefully Receive Jesus’ Love? by live4dgospel(m): 7:35am On Jun 03, 2021 |
Let’s say there are two men we can be compare to two glasses full of filthy liquid. Both glasses are full of sin. One looks at himself and says, “Oh, I am such a sinful person.” Then, he gives up and goes to find someone who can help him. But the other one thinks that he is not really evil. He cannot see the mass of sin within himself and thinks that he isn’t so sinful. All his life, he keeps on wiping up the spills. He wipes up one side, and then the other side...quickly moving over to the other side.... There are so many who carefully live their lives, trying to have as little sin as possible, to avoid spilling it over. But since they still have sin in their hearts, what good does it do? Being careful will not lead them any closer to Heaven. ‘Being careful’ puts them on the road to hell instead. Dear friends, ‘being careful’ only leads to hell. We should take this lesson to heart. When people are careful, their sins may not spill over as much, but they are still sinners. What is in the heart of humanity? Sin? Immorality? Yes! Evil thoughts? Yes! Is there theft? Yes! Arrogance? Yes! We cannot help but admit to the fact that we are masses of sin, especially when we see ourselves act sinfully and wickedly, without being taught to do so. It may not be as evident when we are young. But how is it, as we get older? As we go to high school, college, and so on, we come to realize that all that we have inside us is sin. Is this not true? Honestly speaking, it is impossible to hide our sinful natures. Correct? We cannot help but to spill sin. We then regret, “I shouldn’t do this.” However, we find it impossible to truly change. Why is that so? Because each of us is born as a mass of sin. We do not become clean simply by being careful. What we need to know is that we are born as masses of sin in order to be completely redeemed. Only sinners who gratefully accept the redemption prepared by Jesus can be saved. Those who think, “I haven’t done much wrong or sinned very much,” do not believe that Jesus took away all their sins and that they are destined for hell. We have to know that each of us has this mass of sin within us because we were all born with it. If one thought, “I have not done much wrong if only I could be redeemed for this little sin,” then would he/she be free of sin afterwards? This can never be the case. One who can be redeemed knows that he/she is a mass of sin. He/she truly believes that Jesus took away all our sins by being baptized in the Jordan River and that He paid the wages of sins when He died for us. Whether we are redeemed or not, we all are prone to live in an illusion. We are masses of sin. That is what we are. We can only be redeemed when we believe that Jesus took away all our sins. https://www.bjnewlife.org/bbs/board.php?bo_table=sermons More Bible studies, ebooks and audio books can be found at www.bjnewlife.org |
