In real currency terms that €15 is too much for a cup of okro soup. It should be at most €1.5. One can’t spend an hourly pay on a cup of food. It’s way too ridunculous.
it's a 5 star restaurant!!!

Go to Transcorp Hilton and have dinner in Lagos or Abuja and tell me.the price of a cup cake

Bro no be everything you go de argue. You didn't ask him about the hotel but decided to compare the incomparable. €15 = N8000, bro do you know that some people will manage feeding on that N8K for a whole week here , can people live on €15 a week in Paris? the guy wanted to pass a message that the food is expensive, he converted it to emphasize on it so why you de para about exchange rate

I won't argue with you, your post says it all

Nothing concern the currency here, why is the watery soup not less than 1€, we buy it here less than 1€, so why sell watery Okra for 15€? It's very expensive, that's his point.

Buying a watery cup of Okra for €15 is very expensive. Nothing concern Nigeria with this. With N8000, one will feed for a week so what are you talking about currency?
Bro that's the France national minimum wage ?

What restaurant did he go to? A luxury restaurant? Even in Lagos eating in Transcorp Hilton is expensive

Don't be uninformed

You are wrong bro. Very wrong

People living in that region will tell you that a cup of okra for 15 euro is not cheap. You could do some good grocery shopping with the 15 euro.

Although, Nigerian naira is in a terrible state, it is important to point out that currencies are relative.
Again stop looking at it from naira perspective

Again what level are these individuals, a him will say a pack of dureos is expensive

What is the minimum wage in Paris ?!!!

What are you talking about, you can get 8 dinners for €15 or less in Paris, this has nothing to do with currency devaluation but rather the high cost of the food we have take for granted here.
What is the minimum wage in Paris ? Einstein do tell

Secondly Paris is a tourist city and expensive but not in comparison to a poverty eroded nation like Nigeria I am talking in developed nation standard

Lastly to make an informed argument compare both minimum wages and add values to that of France to compensate for the extremely weak naira then you will understand.

Nigerians currency is trash and has no value , now joro went to a luxury restaurant ... Mind you this isn't the cost of normal feeding

I don't like arguing when people I argue with don't know what they are talking about

Instead of looking at it in real currency terms of strength vs weakness he is looking at it wrongly

€15 Is meant to be N15 or N30 at worst !

Or the fact that the citizenry is in fact full of corrupt and unproductive individuals as such, they cannot trust themselves talk less of government which for them is easier to blame.

There is no conjecture in my opinion concerning online transactions in Nigeria.

You cannot operate a purchase without having apprehension.
It's ironic , but these are the words and manner in which tyrants speak about their people from the dawn of time.

It's common knowledge that tyrants always blame the people for the hardships they subject the very same people to. They call their citizens lazy and undeserving anything better than the ridiculous life they offer .

But check history all tyrants come to the same end, ruin.

It's as sad really but the one consoling factor remains every tyranny comes to an end irrespective of how firm a grasp they assumed they had on power - from the Byzantine to the Roman and Egyptian empire

Lessons indeed that the more discerning can readily call from.

The cause of the gloom , persimism and anger you express so readily isn't from Nigerians

Many Nigerians are criminally minded

As you are, you cannot place an online transaction without being apprehensive.

Is that government's fault?

Again, I ask; which Nigerian does not have someone from his locality in government?
The former in your statement remains conjecture while the later is a whole different level of discussion.. TRIBALISM is a deeper topic to delve into so trivially , but let me say this - TRIBALISM began and ends with the corrupt politicians Nigeria had been bedeviled with for decades ..

The topic remains and still reiterate, the distrust the Nigerian citizens have for their government is well earned by the government itself.

No citizen wakes up and suddenly hates his or her government or country, it is preferred by a series of corrupt , wicked and blatant disregard for the welfare of the citizens by the said government.

Are you talking about a population that consider online fraud to be business?

The government are not aliens.

The government is taken from every single Nigerian's zone.

So doubting government is same as doubting themselves.
The assertion that the entire population takes fraud as a business in itself is incorrect.

Nigerians as a whole have been psychologically and emotionally traumatized as a people by series of bad leaders and corrupt politicians.

Do not focus on the effect , the course should be where energy is directed towards

The very same government who wrecked the nation and plundered her beyond recognition are the cry same people asking to be trusted and believed by the people?

That is either delusional or just plain disregarding the reality

Including mass hysteria.
Mass hysteria only applies in a situation where the general population is experiencing something simultaneously especially when the said incident causes a mass panic / fear

This is not the situation with Nigerians .. the government has time and again shown they are inconsistent, lack integrity and the intellectual dexterity to release any information worth taking seriously. This government has been caught on numerous occasions in embarrassing lies hence there is this general sense of numbness to shocking lies as told by the government.

The faux parse is allowing themselves to be easily given to the habit of disseminating propaganda and falsehood

Nigerians don't like good news.

Had she said "hmm what a smelly place" this thread would have gotten 14 pages already.

Moreover, some are bitter it isn't from their region.

Inside Nigerian life.
I think it's because most Nigerians are aware that most good news shared by the government is either propaganda, staged, or out rightly false

Hence the persimism directed at such news from government sponsored journalists

Hope no one died or was injured............

walking down the stairs of that house, decided to have a few mins pause for some meditation.
i heard that rattling sound, it seemed like a reptile crawling on the ceiling board, but wait! this house has a concrete deck and not a ceiling board.
i looked up and saw a thin dark line running across the white paintings on the roof deck, it was so fast, it moved like a thunder bolt accompanied by that rattling sound, the ceiling tore apart cry

i went into a brace up position as per lessons from helicopter under water escape trainings, i received series of blows to by back and ribs all coming from falling concretes and rocks.... the only thing that flash through my mind was ..... I do not deserve this ..... i could not even say a word of prayer nor could i have scream. The sounds from falling concrete and slabs was so loud, alas i heard a voice from the ground floor shouting ... wetin dey happen, who be that ? and it went all quite.

My brains and body came up alive, i dragged my bag and raced off through what i believe was still a stair case.

October 2017.........Odoula Road Apapa......we shall never forget!
