We hope the army will drop it's own version

U are just getting emotional about an issue that is not even political .

Nigerian army is an military that operates with so much impunity ; it didn't start today. They may make press release online about carrying out investigations but we all know how they will react in physical . Nigerian army don't need any legitimacy to carry out any murder ; this is something they've been doing since the 60's .

U need to do more of reading Nigeria's history . Soldiers were used to quell western region crisis and middle belt crisis in the 60's . That was the moment soldiers started getting involved in civil matters .

This doesn't even have anything to do with northern vs Southern politics . I've been in the north before and I know how northerners fear soldiers . People saying the community people should relocate know what they are saying because they know how vicious officers of the Nigerian army can be in matters like this .

I'm in no way in support of the soldiers conduct, but mehn those communities just brought war to their doorstep

I am saying the people consistently saying the community should fear and run away and giving the soldiers further justification for their actions.

From all accounts of this particular incident, it was stated that two communities were having a communal clash; soldiers were deployed there for peace keeping and the soldiers were ambushed & killed .

How is this the same thing with soldiers fighting armed terrorists/bandits in the north getting killed in the line of duty?

Are u suggesting that when soldiers get killed while fighting bandits/terrorists the soldiers should level the village they were protecting ?

See I do not support the soldiers going on a revenge mission killing both the innocent and the guilty in an extra-Judicial manner , but we really do not need to be comparing apples and oranges here .

Let the military carryout investigation and find out who did it.
Could be militants or a group of criminals.

My own is simple, the village doesn't have to be attacked to prove a point.
Arrest the actual individuals who committed the crime and keep it moving.
All this talk about destroying the village or they should run away is just giving the army legitimacy to murder innocent citizens.
What happened in Odi was evil and that should not be allowed to happen again.

What you are calling apple and oranges is a comparison of reaction by the army in two different regions.
Outside warzones in the north of which the same army hasn't razed down these communities that house terrorists (except during actual battle). How many times have you read that the NAF has destroyed the village that their soldiers were ambushed in Northern States?

This happened and I didn't hear people say the army should go where they were killed to level the place.


But once it's down south, everybody should run oooo.
Instead of all us to tell the army to conduct investigation. We go help dey give legitimacy for the stupid reaction by telling communities to run.

One thing about the north is they may not respect policemen, but they don't 4ck with soldiers . I experienced this first hand . They respect soldiers and don't throw caution to the wind when dealing with Nigerian army

When soldiers are killed in the north, its bandits that did it and so therefore they can't reply with leveling the community.
But when it comes to SS, it's the community people abi?
Suddenly we can't easily ascribe the crime to militants or criminals and next thing is that people should leave because the soldiers only way is to level the whole community 😁.
