This message came late, a group cargo was arranged by Calgary peeps, handled by Afrimall. Deadline for dropping off our stuffs was last Saturday and I think the ship should depart this week or so. We paid 460 naira per kg and I think it will take 6 weeks to get here.

Its not about been strong, you will learn to schedule your day when you get here. Having a car has really helped me though and yes, I have a family who lives less than 3 mins away, plus the benefits of having Nigerian neighbors who have become my family here, you will need each other at some point.

Wow.. Please give us practical ways you have been doing it shocked

Come to Canada with their immunization cards, either the ones given to you by your private hospital or the ones collected from health centres. I came with my kids' immunization cards issued by the one of the community health centres in Lagos. When you land, if Calgary, call the closest health centre to you, you will be asked to scan and send their immunization cards to them by email. They will review the cards, call you to inform you of the ones that are outstanding and book an appointment for them to come in for the shots.

cutiep:
Dear House,

Please do we need a medical report for our kids. Also for the immunization records can we take what was done at a private hospital or is there a special document that has to be completed.

Thank you for your answers

You will be fine, dont worry too much. I have 3 kids also, all below 6 years and I am here alone without hubby. I repeat again, you will be fine grin grin grin grin

If only you could see the smile on my face while I read this. God bless you so much. I have searched Page 1 for this information like a million times hoping someone will update. I have 3 kids, a 5 year old and a 2year old set of twins. It’s a lot. So I was already thinking of how to manage with them and preparing for the exams. Thank you again for this.

Let me step in here, I am also a lawyer writing the NCA in Calgary.

I got my NCA assessment last year Novmeber, before I landed in Calgary in July 2019. To answer your questions:
1. Depending on your NBA branch, for Lagos branch, the letter is addressed to NCA and handed over to you to send by courier yourself. Please note that when sending the letter, use NBA Lagos as the sender, not your name. I know of people whose letters were rejected because they sent the letter using their names. Ideally, the letter should not even be given to you, just like your transcripts, it should be confidential and sent directly by the issuing authority.

2. Law school transcripts will be sent directly to NCA, no interference. Reach out to your contact in Law school, you dont need to travel down.

3. Yes, please. Start the process before you leave Nigeria, so that you can start writing exams as soon as you land, if you choose to. I landed in July and wrote my 1st exam in August, then October and final ones in January. All reading materials can be gotten online and you can start studying before you, land if you have time. Besides, the support system back home is great, unlike here, once you land the rigors and challenges of settling in, looking for accommodation and job, documentations, drivers licence, kids school/daycare etc are not the same as teh ones we face back home.

All the best.

MumofTwins2017:
Please a quick question. For the NCA assessment, would NBA send the letter to you or directly to NCA? Secondly, would the Law School transcript be addressed and sent to the NCA as well?
Thirdly, is it advisable or possible to get assessed by the NCA first while one is still in Nigeria?

Apologies for all the questions ooo. Just wanna see how things can be made easy while one is still here in Nigeria because it’s not so easy getting people to assist once your out. Thanks

There is no justifiable reason to call or liken any human being to an animal, no reason atall.

I sincerely hope that you understand @etrange's point of view.

Nigeria, and Africa as a continent, may not be where it should be, that does not give anyone the basis to use derogatory words to describe your fellow human being.

Have a great day.
Kaycee54321:

I clearly understand where you're coming from. It's actually derogatory but I dare say you could blame it on frustration because the entire situation is sickening. Sometimes, you see things that make you wonder why you're even part of the failed society in the first place. The 'animal' and 'monkey' tag is just borne out of frustration.

The other day I saw a documentary about a guy complaining that he was deported for the seemingly harmless reason that he was caught pissing on the road while possessing an overstayed visa...

Things like this can just make you scream 'Oh, my God, Africans are animals'

It's frustrating.

There is an elderly woman who is helping someone I know currently. Maybe you can call her to explain your plight to her.
Ladykeigh:
Hello all, does anyone have the contact (genuine ) for transcript processing in UNILORIN ?

My sister has visited the school 4 times in the last 2 months, but no progress. She was there on Friday and the lady in the Senate building office told her they are yet to receive the transcripts from the departments, hence the delay.

What can I do to speed-up things? Note that the lady had asked for a tip and we agreed but on the condition that we receive confirmation that the courier company has picked up our transcripts.

Hello house, so I thought I should update you all about my mum's application. After raising several CSE and emails to both London and Lagos Offices, and even VFS Lagos office, we got a reply about 2 weeks after the initial refusal from Lagos VO office that her application has been reopened and same day, her profile was updated and showed that Biometrics completed. Today, her application was approved andher passport was requested. Thanks to @nothingdome and @oriazowan and every other person that reached out.

Timeline:
Submitted online - June 11
Biometrics - June 13
1st Refusal - July 29
File reopened - Aug 9
Biometrics passed - August 9
Application approved/passport request - August 23

Livy2018:
Hello house,

Please I need help and insights from you all here.

I submitted an online TRV application for my Mum on June 11, got letter for Biometrics on June 12 and she did her biometrics at VFS Lagos office on June 13. Her application was never updated. Biometrics never changed to received. This morning I got an update to her account and logged in to see that her application was refused because she didnot comply with the request for Biometrics. Her visa office is London.

This is a bit weird because she did Biometrics and got an email on June 13 VFS titled "Application accepted". Was there suppose to be another email from VFS?

Please whats the best course of action at this point? Raise a Case specific enquiry post-final decision? Write an appeal letter?
I feel my mum's application was not fairly determined, the officer either didnot check thru properly or VFS didnot submit her biometrics, which was paid for, anyways.

Pls your kind and quick responses would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Thank you.
NothingDoMe:
Add emails to it please like someone suggested. Send to London and copy lagos. If possible copy Ottawa. They just have to reopen her case.

This is the email I could find online:

Write to who? London? Complaint sent. Dont have their email.
FYsol:
You need to write them immediately attaching all that you can.

Travel / Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Livy2018: 4:37pm On Jul 30, 2019
Thanks. I have raised a CSE and also logged a technical complaint within her profile.
oriazowan:
You should send a message to London immigration and copy Lagos immigration, explaining in details her timeline when she did the biometrics and attach the email she got from vfs after the biometrics was done and wait for their response. Meanwhile, if you can, you both should go to the vfs office in Lagos to lay a complaint.
