The runway is to be closed from Saturday night to Monday morning. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria on Wednesday said it will shut down the runway of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, for two days. In a statement by the spokesperson for the aviation agencies, Yakubu Dati, the closure of the airport’s only runway is to enable facility upgrade and traffic maintenance there. Mr. Dati said the upgrade is in line international Civil Aviation Organization’s, ICAO requirements and Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority’s, NCAA approved Safety and Standard and Recommended Practices, SARPs. The runway, he said, will be closed at 2300 UTC on Saturday, July 5 to reopen at 0500 UTC on Monday, July 7. “A NOTAM (Notice to all airmen) of closure at 2300 UTC on Saturday, 5th of July, 2014 and reopening at 0500 UTC on Monday 7th of July, 2014, has already been issued at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, notifying all airlines, sister agencies and critical stakeholders,” Mr. Dati said. 13. Walking his Fresh Produce You certainly don’t see this everyday… someone taking his fresh veggies for a walk, complete with the leash and everything. He is known as Cornman and he is one the biggest human attractions in Japan. Until recently, no one really knew who he was, but the very first photo of him dragging his corn down the street went viral. Ever since then, everybody has called him Cornman. Everyone has speculations about him: some say he is crazy, some say he is looking for attention and others say that he just likes to do embarrassing stuff. 7. Friends—Woman Living with Snakes and Rats Authorities discovered a woman in Washington that was living with hundreds of rats and four snakes. She was reported about a month ago but did not want to cooperate with the officials. She called the rats her friends. The worst part was that when the officials finally got into her house, they found the floor covered with rat poo and soaked in urine. Apparently she bought a few rats in order to feed the snakes, but they escaped and things got out of control.
