yunglykmine: But why is the VC suddenly in a desperate move to resume at this moment of the year.I wonder oh!! But ASUU is over doing it this time. |
The Federal Government has directed vice-chancellors of all Federal universities currently on strike to immediately re-open for academic and allied activities as directed by their pro-chancellors. Minister of State for Education, Mr Nyesom Wike gave the directive and also asked the vice-chancellors to ensure that staff who resume for work are provided with the enabling environment to carry out academic activities. He added that any staff who failed to resume on or before December 4, 2013 automatically ceases to be a staff of the institution and that vice-chancellors are allowed to advertise vacancies for their positions in their institution. Mr Wike further said that the Federal Government has come to the conclusion that the continued industrial action is an attempt by the Academic Staff Union of Universities to sabotage all efforts to address the issues, despite the commitment of government. As a responsible government it cannot allow the continuous closure of public institutions as this poses danger to the education system and the future of Nigerian youths. The National Universities Commission (NUC) has been directed to ensure compliance of the directives by the various institutions. http://www.channelstv.com/home/2013/11/28/fg-directs-federal-universities-to-re-open/?

The academic war between Management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko [AAUA] in Ondo State and its striking lecturers has deepened following a report that the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Femi Mimiko has commenced recruitment of new lecturers to replace the striking lecturers, having refused to pull out of the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities’ [ASUU] strike. DailyPost has gathered that Prof. Mimiko remains resolute about his decision to re-open the university on December 2, after he had ordered the students to resume this Monday for the commencement of the second term semester programme. But the Chairman of ASUU in the institution, Dr. Busuyi Mekusi has described the move by the management as illegal. He has vowed that the union would resist any action by the Vice-Chancellor to illegally recruit new workers to replace the striking lecturers. Since GEJ has refused to check his brainless tug, we, the Yorubas have decided to put him where he belongs - behind the bar, that is where Obasanjo put him some years back and that is where we, the Yorubas are returning him to using our stooge, the Benin Republic government. If you have forgotten, I will remind you, the President of Benin Republic once came to Nigeria and prostrated for Obasanjo in the public, so Benin Republic is just Yoruba satellite town, the same way Universities have satellite campuses.See reasoning abeg |

kokoA: These governors must have figured out that weather they remain in PDP or not, Ebele will still hunt them with all he's got. The have made a wise decision. Its better you attempt to kick him out in 2k15 than to remain in PDP awaiting the heavy weight of presidential power landing on your head.Gbam!! |
yunglykmine: Aliyu is a suspect I swear...Suspect Indeed |
The governor announced this through his spokesperson. The Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu, has said that he remains a member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Mr. Aliyu stated this hours after the All Progressives Congress announced a merger with the Abubakar Baraje- faction of the PDP called ‘New PDP.’ Mr. Aliyu and six other PDP governors are members of the ‘New PDP.’ Governor Aliyu’s Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo, in a statement said his principal was shocked “at the announcement of the merger of New PDP and APC even before a final decision was taken on the matter.” Mr. Ndayebo said Mr. Aliyu was not present at the meeting where the merger deal was sealed between the New PDP and APC leaders as widely reported by the media. The spokesperson said the Niger governor “insisted that talks were still ongoing with the president and would await the outcome of the negotiation before taking a final decision.” Mr. Baraje had told journalists at the media briefing in Abuja, to announce the merger on Tuesday, that Mr. Aliyu left the merger meeting early but agreed with the decision. With Mr. Aliyu’s announcement, the merger has 17 governors (11 APC and 6 New PDP). http://premiumtimesng.com/news/150347-breaking-news-remain-pdp-governor-aliyu-niger-says.html

40 people killed ![]() Which way Nigeria? Gov.Jang is busy playing kangaroo politics in Abuja while his people are deeply involved in manslaughter. God have Mercy. |
sagombugo: What a reasoning from you! Does it mean anybody in opposition politics lack relevance?I never said so... My point, APC shouldn't have taken those bunch of corrupt losers into the strong opposition they are tryna build in the political system. They are self-centred and in no time, they will manifest |
yunglykmine: R I P to their political career.Progressive ko, Retrogressive ni.. Mtcheeeewwww!!! They've never been progressive. They've ended up polluting APC by merging with those losers. |
A mission to a political extinction 2015!!! I can't wait. |
