GeorgeTheCoder: This media release by Unity Bank does nothing to dispute Milost's claims and only shows that they are true. For those unfamiliar with the story :
1. Unity Bank tried to raise money from international investors.
2. Milost, a new York based firm agreed to invest 1 billion USD in Unity Bank and gave some conditions among which were that Unity Bank delist from the NSE and relist in USA, and the investor would take a 60% stake in the bank.
3. Unity Bank management agreed in principle to the conditions, and was set to sign final papers after shareholder and board ratification.
4. An unknown person emailed Milost (the investor) and threatened them, warning them not to come into Nigeria to invest in the bank. This person showed unusual knowledge of the internal documentation and workings of the bank. When Milost reported this to the management, they did not get a satisfactory reply and were scared away from the deal.
fakeprophet: Putin venom is more acidic and dangerous than that of Python. nobody mess with the Lord of Putin & Scot Free. let's see how the cold war will end
You are a real fake prophet. Pythons don't produce venom at all. They kill by constricting their prey.
Sorry about this. Unfortunately, you will not be able to get your money back from them. If you are lucky, a voucher for another purchase will be issued to you but, it doesn't have to be so. You will never get your time back but with us, you will get what you paid for or get your money back, simple.
With an escrow service, it's as simple as returning the item and getting your money back, no hassles. Buyers need to have confidence that they will always get what they pay for or their money back, which is one of the things we stand for.
dadanelson: A Nigerian lady who is a hair dealer has taken to Instagram to show off her new mansion just 2 weeks after giving birth to a new baby.
The excited lady shared a video of the new mansion and also hinted her followers on how she started her business on a low key. According to her she went into business with jut N5,000 and just under 5 years, it has grown into a multi-million naira venture.
The lady even mentioned that she started the business as a student where she was always spotted from locations to locations trying to convince people to buy her merchandise.
Read her post below.
”I started my business with just 5,000 naira and in less than 5 years I have achieved so much from it.
The struggle was real from selling from my hostel , persuading peeps to buy from me , opening my page on Instagram and started selling there , delivering by myself, stocking goods at home
Of all things, acquiring this 5 bedroom mansion and a detached b/q in a perfect location in the city of Lagos makes me truly understand that consistent drop of water can make an ocean .
The grass can only get greener for hard worker I always knew my hard work will pay real big coz whenever I see people do great things whether on Instagram or on the outside I always make their success my prayer point Broken crayons still colour
My 2018 has just started and I haven’t even achieved anything , am coming for more , I believe many young ladies will achieve a lot this 2018 Because hard work pays Interior designers get in here come furnish this to my taste All bills on @mrstilll
IT CAN ONLY BE GOD! House warming plus child dedication in a bit SOFT REMINDER: my market is selling like pure water ”.
Hhenryy: A very unprofessional conduct from the medics. I read it elsewhere that they even pronounced him dead on the pitch and his teammates were devastated.
There is no known rule on what the referee is permitted to do in such cases, (because Ideally, a player can't die and immediately be declared officially on the pitch like that) but it is most likely the game will continue after some delay, but the incident will definitely have an effect on the outcome of the game.
The referee can only suspend or cancel a match if fans invade the pitch during play with the intent to cause harm to players. in such case, the ref can cancel a match.
Before you come to ABU to understudy anything, ask them what they are currently using their own for, or even if it has ever been used for anything. Flight money is expensive biko...don't just waste your money on white elephant (white refinery) project.
Hhenryy: In standard/well organized football matches like the world cup you are talking about, the medics don't break the news immediately or give room for any suspicion. It's usually after the match.
When a player collapses, nobody thinks about death immediately. It also takes some time before death is confirmed and the player must have been taken out of the pitch for further medical attention. So his teammates cannot know for sure, they can only hope nothing bad happens to him/her.
The match continues afterwards with a replacement. The team will get to know about the condition of their colleague after the match.
Thanks for your reply. But in this particular case, it was clear he was dead from the reactions of the players. As in the medics could not have concealed that information from them...what happens in that scenario?
overboard: Where and what's that? Let's know it bro.
Look in my signature. Mods are not smiling these days...handing out bans like it was going out of fashion...and very long bans at that. I no fit shout.
overboard: Bro. Please let's know when you're done. Would be nice to have a read.
@lobell, valid points but I think the attendant issues and solutions may be proffered in the thesis. Reason I'm interested in the work...
Personally, from my humble angle and in somewhat agreement with your arguments, I think we are not being organic in our eCommerce enterprises and not taking advantage of the unique landscape each emerging market poses.
A lot of vanity metrics spur the strategies and decisions asides the fact that expansion is ever so pursued without much recourse to logic and deep analysis that would allow them to feel the true pulse of the business.
Of course, the slower economic realities add to the sad mix but many have fallen trap to basing their business on some fantastical indicies that is in no short supply when fast growing emerging markets are involved.
I believe the next generation of eCommerce setups will take a lot to heart before ad during their dispensation the story has been the same from about 2 years now. Prudence, customer-centric, taking innovative advantage of the less-than-ideal infrastructure with intelligent integration...
Efritin saw the writing on the wall and decided to bail outright.
I agree with the vanity metrics and over-hyping of a particular marketplace that does nothing to ensure customer satisfaction.
Building trust in customers is key in my opinion and that is what we are addressing in our all new marketplace. you may want to check it out for yourself.
hotdealz: It's all about the money bro or willingness to spend the money. Most young guys don't have the money or the willingness to spend the money on women.
casualobserver1: Honestly I don't know how come NIPOST is not publicizing the advances they have made of recent. You can imagine someone being able to track packages from US to Nigeria in real time. In fact when I picked the package they even updated it to say that it was picked up and added the time I picked it. I was in shock.
The only thing they need to work on is the bail they charge to pick up packages. They collect money without receipt. If they can just get that right, it won't be long before they take over finally.
You're right about the charges but there are ways to beat them at their game. When we start naming and shaming them on social media, the bad eggs will be removed with time or they stop their nefarious activities.
Dasherz: Since the payment is in dollars, is it paid directly to our local bank account or there are other procedures to follow?
You can get exchangers to change into Naira for you but you must shine your eyes so as not to lose your hardearned money to scammers. Always insist on an escrow for exchanges and you have one right here if ever you need it.
I asked this question some time ago and never got an answer.
What happens to the match? Does it continue after a substitute is made or is the match scrapped because of the trauma on his teammates, opponents and spectators?
What if it happened in a World Cup match for instance?
oreayo2011: dont bother, before amazon started, the infrastructure to run the business existed .Check my previous post .
Like I said, we have the infrastructure. Demand drives growth and improvement in service delivery. I have tested, firsthand, the reliability of NIPOST (especially when you use the registered parcel service). Your item gets delivered unfailingly or gets returned to you or they pay for it if lost or damaged. Sellers need to take advantage of our own. More sellers using them translates to more profit for them and I can assure you they will improve their services up to the point of providing tracking. I can also inform that they are currently working on including tracking for packages. It will not also take long for someone else to leverage on the increased demand and provide competition effectively checkmating their monopoly or even out-rightly taking the business from them.
yinks0067: I disagree with that. in my own view, I think the coming on board of instagram vendors as really crippled konga and Jumia. also drop shipping. and what finally killed Jumia and konga is that they don't stay through to there products. You see a gold wristwatch and when it get delivered its blue.. They both get it wrong by focusing on too much products instead on focusing on few and make it perfect. it's time we see new startup doing something better. I bought item from oversee online worth 300,000k because I kne what I saw is what I will get. this year I only bought item worth N600 Maura from konga because am scared I might not get wht I saw from there web . it boils down to trust and credibility
This is exactly what our new marketplace is addressing. Customers get what they pay for or get their money back...in cash not vouchers.
Ssalk: Timely delivery of goods is one of the key element in online retail business so Nipost might not work effectively in this. No matter how cheap land transport might be, you still can't compare it with railway system to sustain the sector for long term growth. The online market place in Nigeria is a hostile one that both the sellers and buyers don't seems to get it right due so some certain factors . Lastly, research is about making argument why you feel your current work will contribute better than the previous work in the chosen field. So criticism is part of the work. Thanks.
I can guarantee that NIPOST will deliver in a week, two weeks tops for busy terminals like Lagos if incoming from outside the state.
