Sorry please, what is this consent form for, I presume is for DW whose husband is not with her as at time of birth. Please clarify.
Thanks
Yes. It only applies when DH is not present in the US as at the time of passport application.

Hello everyone, please I need some clarity on the steps to take when getting the consent form signed in the Lagos US embassy. Thanks.
Print the Form online, fill it but don't sign. Go with your Int'l passport as a means of identification. Just stroll into the embassy Mon-Fri before 12 noon. The process takes about 15-30mins (waiting time inclusive)

Thank you so much @lobus for the quick response.

1) I have families in both dallas and Houston but i'm gonna be more comfortable in dallas especially with post delivery care.

2) I already did and got JPS but whenever I call they keep transferring my calls.
I just searched and found 8-9 OB/GYN associated with the JPS Hospital. Check each of them for their contact details using below link and call them each

http://practitioners.jpshealthnet.org/?SortBy=Weighted&SortDirection=Asc&Specialties=7

You would have to put in more work on the search and keep calling.

Hello Nairalanders! FTM due in march'17 and i'm really happy to be part of nairaland, I have learnt a lot since I found out about this trend in July. I share experiences gotten here with friends that are also interested in giving birth in the US.

Now my worries: i'm torn in between giving birth in Houston and Dallas but I have more info(I got here)on Houston than dallas. I just found out about JPS hospital in dallas but the issue is the hospital cost? if they still take foreign patients (I read somewhere here that JPS doesn't accept foreign patients)? a doctor' name or contact? I have contacted the numbers I got online from my research but it's not been fruitful. Please help a sister!!! I need useful comments. Thanks!
Points to Consider:

1. Pick a location where you have family so you can get post delivery care and cut out accommodation cost.

2. Search properly for Hospitals in Dallas, there are a couple of them. Visit their website and i am sure you would find a 'find a physician' link or a contact you can call. Negotiate since you would be a selfpay patient.

3. Assuming you have gotten your Visa, you can use a Doctor's correspondence from Houston for POE if you cannot get one from a Hospital in Dallas.

4. Also give preference to Hospitals that accept prepayment via Form A etc. You may be able to save some $ there.

[quote author=Austine2020 post=49472778]In the spirit of giving back as we preach in this forum. My wife went for her interview last week after being rejected through Dropbox interview. The interview went like this..

Thanks Lady G and everyone for your contributions when the first dropbox application was rejected.
My question is,does this mean that she is officially cleared to use her visa for both vacation and child birth as well? am asking this because she didnt go to the visa interview for child birth.

Sorry for the Long post.

She can use it for birthing provided she was not pregnant at the point of the interview.

Hello Nairaland mamas & papas,

. Please does anyone know any doctor/hospital that can provide correspondence without asking for an initial deposit?

I have read alot about chicago, so i would most likely use another liberal state as my POE .

Thanks in advance good mamas.
You can get correspondence from Doctors affiliated with Oakbend, Houston Methodist and other Hospitals in Houston without any deposit for your POE and port to Chicago upon arrival.

Somebody please help attend to my concerns above. It's giving me anxieties already...Please help a sister in dire need of information.
Your worry is limited to the Baby's US passport which requires a consent letter if both parents are not in the US at the time of birth. If the baby does not arrive before DH leaves, he can process the consent letter in Nigeria at the embassy and send same to you. This can only be done after the baby is born.

A piece of advise, most banks have now stopped ATM cash withdrawal abroad. The implication is that you may be stranded if you hope to withdraw USD cash from your Naira account.

Make adequate plans to have your funds in USD and not Naira,

I asked a simple question here and i see some people laughing, oh so serious. Am i expected to go through part 1 to part 4 where part 1 alone is 400 pages. I saw houston was mentioned most and Dr fagbohun was mentioned as well which i have used him before, so that is why am asking if anyone know of any other doctor. And i asked of accomodation info, but i realised some people just choose to roll off their bed. I read from part one till part 4 till this particular post for days, that was why i thought this will be a good forum to ask. But since some people choose to make mockery of themselves, then goodluck to them.
Person wey dey find something, na im hand dey long pass. Except you dont need the information anymore.

Visit the website of any of the hospital in Houston you like. They have a 'find a physician' option from where you can see several OB/GYN associated with that hospital.

Try not to make enemies for yourself by starting on a wrong footing. Remember, no one is obliged to provide you answers on demand.

Shalom

Took out time today to watch Trump's speech on Immigration. Quite comforting to know he did not mention stopping citizenship to babies born by non-immigrant in the US.

One thing is clear though, they would be reviewing their immigration laws soon.

Good day everyone.
At 37 week 3 days on the 20th of Aug, My daughter decided she was ready. I woke up at 4am and was feeling pains like menstral cramps. Gisted with my sis till 8am. She advised we just go to d hospital, just in case it was the real thing, I was like -so if na false labour nko, northside go just slam person $1k for nothing. Lol.
To cut the long story short. We set out at 9am on the dot, 30 mins into the ride, the pain hit me like mad. I first removed my shoe and started shouting Jesus. The pain was not here o and the contractions were 5mins apart.Hospital was 20mins away.
Immediately I got to d hospital, I began to push. Before I entered labour room, baby's head was out.got to the hospital 9.52 and had my baby 10.02.It was a miraculous birth.no time for epidural.Haaaa!!!!! God is faithful. Baby is healthy. Thanks to God.
Congratulations! Na half hospital fee you suppose pay be that....lol

This will soon be made public so that's good news for those using FBN's cards and those looking for PTA

Very frustrating country
This is because of the CBN ban. They would find it difficult settling on their Naira cards used outside the country because of forex restriction/ban. Other banks not on the list wont have this problem.
