Your street credibility or lack of it has nothing to do with understanding investment terminology.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/d/dividendyield.asp

I have helped you this time. Don't come back and give us fluff next time.

If you have developed a personal ratio you want to use as a metric, well and good but it's not dividend yield.

Both of you are correct.
If I bought ucap at #2,i will calculate my dividend yield on the price I bought.

If I am yet to buy,I will calculate on the current price at the floor.I am sure most stocks can't give 10% dividend yields now based on the increase in share prices lately.
But since I am still bullish in the market, it means I will neglect whatsoever dividend yields in this earning season and pay attention to capital appreciation which I feel some stocks will still give from now to June.

I agree. But let's understand your basis better so that we can evaluate next week. By saying bull do you mean the index will rise by this time next week or you mean price of specific stocks will rise. If the latter let's have the name of the stocks in your universe so that we can establish that cause and effect relationship and eliminate chance occurrences.

The index will not rise because our SWOOT stocks are taking breath for now.
There will be lots of activities in the market next week than we witnessed this week.
There will be more gainers than losers next week.super eagles winning the trophy will also boost our market next week.
This is all I can say about next week.
We all are speculators but might not be accurate.

What's the nexus between winning AFCON and NGX? I really can't see it but before you get aggressive I will bookmark this post and bring it up again next week so that we can compare notes. Perhaps there is a cause and effect relationship we are not aware of.

We have talked too much today.
Let's rest and not complicate issues.
Next week is not too far from now.

It has never been get rich quick place but you could be lucky to discover value in some discounted stock based on different reasons. Those buying oando and me on iB is not based on dividend.
All this French, no bear is coming. Infact if we win afcon this month. It will trigger another bull based on SA.
Naija is destined for greatness

Sure, my boys are coming back with the trophy.
Next week is a week of bull to respect our cup.

Make dem use tomorrow to do their worst in the market. We will collect batton on monday

no I don't have Oando and I'm not blaming him he sold o....I only noticed the way and manner he was shouting buy buy buy until seeing today he has sold....well, Newbies should be careful of taking investment advice here without DUE diligence...

See how this thing work.
If you point or suggest a stock,I will check it out especially if it matches my investment criteria.
1. Figures
2. Small free floats
3. Board members
4. Shareholding structure

I will draw my own entry price.
I will also draw my exit price.

I don't allow anyone to detect price for me.

You can as well do yours and save yourself stress

Interest you'll wait for a whole year to get, in one month you can get it on NSE.....
Dey come dey shout am like say it's the best in the whole wide world......
It only benefits deep pockets much more in my opinion.

At least, after they all sell commot, dem go allow market to breathe.

If we are in a bear market, this TB rates would have been excellent but we are in the bull.

I shun it.

Its very funny that all those advocates that left Òando secretly never said so publicly like they did when they were advocating, until they had safely offloaded.
That is why newbies are always warned in this forum to do their due diligence, cos that prophet wey you dey follow anyhow no too sure wetin him dey tell you.

A promoter of a stock with 10m units can hold 15m units of same stock via pullback advantage.
I don't know why Peter should be blamed ooo.
He sold and he is buying back more units than he sold and will continue his monkey business on it.

Afterall oando has turned a Jijo stock

Abeg no vex ooo.
Should he tell you when he is selling?
Do you think he will not repurchase the oando at a bargain price?

Can you let me know why you are blaming him?

Because he sold?

He was smart and took advantage of the TB which affected not too good or overpriced stocks.Nothing is wrong with oando. If you have the shares, hold and keep praying.

Thanks for putting in elementary maths, lol

The only good thing I see in that TB is the interest paid upfront.

Your capital stays till 12 months.
It's better I keep that capital in my trading account and cash out more than 30% in Jijo when the stock market stablizes.

TB not for me now because I am still in the bull market.

Some of us saw the HAND WRITING on the wall and carry our KAYA @#15.15 junction and quickly alerted BARGAIN HUNTERS to take cover.
We will reposition few days to their court case on April 17th 2024 by they will definitely dig up one positive news that cause another rally

For now we are on our ARMCHAIR observing and ENJOYING our LOOTS.

Pls Peter eat the #20 which is the Benchmark of oando delisting price.I am no more interested.

If it happen you join the SWOOT in the future,I will be happy for you.

It's better for me to stay in champion brewery which the minority shareholders are being listened to.At least Akwa ibom Govt is for the interest of minority shareholders.

If oando case is like that of champion where Raysun Nig Ltd upon having 86% of the shares has no final decision, oando would have buy out the minority shareholders by force.

Wale self doesn't have up to 50% of oando shares yet he takes all decisions.

Why should you answer oando shareholder when you don't have mouth in the company?

lol @ the bolded. So loco could be afraid of some stock afterall.

But I know you very well, you will still jump at Oando if you see glaring opportunity to make money there.

My brother,I can never trade on oando again except Wale is removed as the CEO.
Why should you trade on a stock one person controls?
No one has mouth to say anything even the regulatory bodies.

After reading some posts of our members yesterday,I decided to walk away.

I don't already program my mind before I enter oando as bet.The worst case I loose 5M or gain 8 M. But wale is bent on delisting. I won't lie to my self.
All I beg of him is to consider #20 as buy out price, lol.The only person that can stop wale is the president maybe for political reason. The opposition party may use it to paint his government bad since he has a link to wale..Oando is heading below #10 again because no positive news from its end......I remain street credible.

It wasn't easy for me to pull off yesterday.
After looking at right, left, front, back, up and down,I decided to back out of the contest and never in this life to talk or trade on oando.

I wish everyone in the boat success in all their endeavor including you my friend.

It is very myopic and childish to use what you see on this platform to assess people's investment profile. How do you know someone's whole future it tied to one stocks, just because of discussion on a forum?.
Some of us have been trading and investing in the market for more than 20 years, and have witnessed and experienced several ups and downs. What you typed shows you lack maturity in the things of the stocks market!

Some real traders and investors don't even make comments on this platform. They only come online to read peoples' posts. Someone like me only make comments on Oando because it has been topical and controversial with new developments always evolving. I have been trading and investing for more than 20 years, but you would not see my posts here. And I have been on NL for long.
So open your sense and reason beyond what you read here on NL so you can be more circumspect and measured in what you type while hiding behind the facelessness of this platform.

I don sell off my oando yesterday.
I don't want to talk about oando again.
Wale doesn't listen to technical, fundamental, sentimental analysis.People in oando will make some money but oando must be delisted. At what price is what I don't know.

Pls try to reunite with streetinvestor2.
He is my good friend just like chibuking whose child was kidnap sometime ago.

It is the time of Meyer to move.
Every stock has it's time to move.
Some said Multiverse was been manipulated and it moved from 2.90 to 22,same with Tip, Japaul.

I didn't want to mention Meyer when it was selling at 3+ but I know it's time is almost at hand.its happening now.

We are saying the same thing with different opinion. If you read what I wrote very well, you will see the word “Bad Economic policies and we can’t pray our way out of this mess”

That’s what brought us here…

All these bad policies and insurgency are dwelling in our midst but we are still surviving them.Stock market can only do a little pullback on any sad news then move forward again.

This morning ASI was doing 101k on the news of interest rates and later closed at 102k.We will still ride this bull.Wait let the Dongotes & co list their shares and see us at 150k by year end.
