Streetinvestor2: I will advice oh.Dont be quick to sell your sugar.Dangota sugar q1 results will be good because of the price of sugar. And the appreciation of naira to dollars. Some of the forex loss may be written back as per the forex loss was forward obligation .I have benefited in the past from dangota sugar dividend and believe it will still come back. I benefited from dead dangota flour and won't give up on the sugar since I didn't borrow to invest and had long time in mind.I waited for flour from dangota to tiger and back to Dangote again. Then olam happened One thing must kill a man 1 Like |

222Martins: Are you referring to our NSEMPA's number 1 Cheerleader / Advocate of emotional investors and Forbes List Stock Analysts? Expect cracks on your head soon |

222Martins:
I usually laugh when some cheerleaders here console themselves with words like:
"Alhaji is Forbes list conscious" or "Tony is working hard to enter Forbes list" or "Ote will not allow the price to fall below so-so figure because he must remain on Forbes list" and i ask myself:
Are these people on Nairaland really investors? How are you all so emotionally whipped up even when hard facts and figures are staring you in the face?
Let me tell you a few hard truth nobody will tell you especially when investing in NGX and doing business in Nigeria:
1. Nobody care about Forbes list......It is strictly all about the Money.
2. Nobody cares about integrity,....Anybody that is able to get the slightest competitive advantage in business will use it to the fullest no matter how illegal or immoral it is. Think Alhaji, Wale, Tony, Rabiu, etc.
3. Nobody with a serious business to run watches the stock price of his company daily, including the big names on the NGX. Money follows management. If you play the game right, the money will follow and the stock price will respond.......
4. Be wary when cheerleaders encourage you to join the herd and follow the money,......They may be heading off a cliff like lemmings, or running into a crocodile-infested river like wildebeests. NS/DS as a typical scenario. Like a crocodile, I am patiently waiting to cherry-pick the wildebeests of NS/DS when they enter my price zone
5. Any buy order you are about to place with excitement is not worth it...Same as any stock that generates excitement. Nothing good comes out of drama and theatrics. Excitements closes your eyes and ears to solid opportunities laying in quiet places.
6. Whenever you find out that you have been played or setup for failure, cut your losses and run..I repeat, RUN!!!!!!!!!!........Don't sit and listen to emotional investors asking why a company will quickly release news about a merger suspension so fast and they should be investigated. Buy, hold and pray is a losers strategy You can always re-enter at a much lower price.... 7. Lastly, The real money-makers here don't post often, they are busy people, they don't cheerlead stocks to get you excited..Whenever and if ever they recommend a stock, they back it up with hard-verifiable facts and even show you their holdings in that stock, so you know they are all in. Unfortunately, they are the ones that get insulted and booed the most, while the emotional investors that hopes and prays for Forbes list get all the accolades Some people Don collect loan waiting to make a kill when the food is listed. How you wan tell them to sell at loss and run for their life? 3 Likes |

The loss gonna too much ooo. Imagine Dangote sugar from #80 back to #40 and yet no positive news in sight.
What will I say of Gtb from #52 back to #34.
Me no like holding any stock when I have made 100% and above.

essentialone: 1.Before I buy a Stock, it must align with my Investing goal
Also, I must be 100% convinced to buy the Stock based on my personal research
If I am not 100% convinced, I don't buy
Do you know why? I love my nights sleep. I can't be sleeping & also be thinking about the Stock Market
2.I , a very very patient person. I am a long term investor. All these short term stuffs, I don't do it
But I am planning on going into short term trades which I am taking my time to understand before diving in.
If a person earns 1million by trading a Stock in a very short period of time, it doesn't move me to do the same because I know where I am going & I know I will get there.
Once I get there, that's it. I am financially free.
3.I don't buy based on someone's recommendation. If a person recommends stocks, I do my own then decide if it's okay for me to invest.
I don't invest in what I don't see reason to invest in even if Warren Buffet sees reason to invest in that thing.
If I am not convinced personally, I don't invest. I need to be convinced myself so I know when to enter, how to enter and when to exit if need be.
4.Many have lost in stock Investing because they over diversify
How can someone invest a total amount of N100000 and buy 5 stocks with it
Why can't you just buy 1 or (2 stocks if need to be)
But no, you want to own shares in every company
My Portfolio is diversified & concentrated at the same time
I diversify but my total amount invested must Justify my wanting to diversify (if need be)
If you have invested in a great stock before, why are you Investing in another stock if that other Stock is still a good buy
There are no many great stocks, when you see one, go there aggressively
My policy is to concentrate holdings.
i try to avoid buying a little of this or that when I am not excited about the business or its price.
When I convinced as to attractiveness, I believe in buying worthwhile amount.
5.Another one is this, I can see my portfolio go down 20% - 30% and I won't shake a bit
I have seen my Nigerian Portfolio go down very very well. I have also seen it stagnant
But all these does not move me because I know my Investing goal & I know the Stocks I bought so I know how to act
6.Another thing is this,
I don’t pay attention to what people say about stocks.
Everyday there are millions of shares of Zenith bank traded.
That’s a lot of opinions.
If you talk to one person, you hear one thing…you talk to another, you hear different thing.
Noise & I are not FRIENDS
7.People in stocks tend to look at the price.
They let the price tell them how they should feel
You should look at the business just like you would look at a house you bought or a land you bought.
Price is what you pay, value is what you get
8.I will not sell my interest in businesses (stocks) where they are attractively priced just because some analysts thinks the quotations may go lower even though such forecasts are obviously going to be right some of the time.
I buy, hold & sell on my own conviction because I understand the industry I invested into & the company I bought.
9.Shareholders have too often behaved like sheep in this country and they got shorn.
I've encouraged the idea of shareholders behaving like owners.
Focusing on the price of a stock is not good because it really means that you think the stock market knows more than you do.
If the stock market knows more than you do, you shouldn’t be in stocks.
The stock market is there to serve you, not to instruct you.
10.A very important principle in investing is you don’t have to make it back the way you lost it.
It’s usually a mistake to try and make it back the way you lost it.
When you experience a loss in investing, it can be tempting to try to quickly recoup that loss by taking aggressive or speculative actions.
However,
Instead of fixating on recovering losses in the same manner they occurred, it's generally wiser to focus on making sound, well-reasoned investment decisions based on your overall financial goals, risk tolerance, and investment strategy.
In essence, this principle encourages investors to avoid chasing after quick, high-risk solutions to recover losses and, instead, to maintain a disciplined and strategic approach to investing that aligns with their long-term financial objectives.
This can help reduce the potential for further losses and contribute to more sustainable and prudent investment outcomes.
I will just stop here for now
Thank you 🙏

What was the financial submitted to sec for dangota rice that makes one rice equivalent to 14 sugar.I have been asking the question for long.I have not been to jigawa.Any body from jigawa should tell us if dangota rice company is now operational in the state
You asked same question @Japaul. One thing I know is Alhaji can't deceive his investors. |

Streetinvestor2: Did you open what you shared. In as much as I invested in dangota sugar. I have visited one of its farm in Numan in adamawa state.Dangota rice /paddy is not on ground physical any whr.You post equally confirmed that they have identified land for such purpose in nasarawa.
I had asked for financial of dangota rice before to know how they arrived at 1 dangota rice is equivalent to 14 sugar without financial results What financial results of dangota rice was submitted to sec.The financial is what you should share and not proposed future business .We have proposed/planed businesses that even came for private placements on stock market that never say the day. Dangota bought PAN and is still building the plant close to olam in kaduna. It is obvious that is the rice sector that is holding the merger. Nascon has come out to make media pronouncements concerning the merger.Pls post the media pronouncements from dangota rice company.

Streetinvestor2: The os will move from 29 billion to 44 billion. And the money raised with the new os will not generate revenue and new eps why will the bank maintain the same PAT with injection of new fund into the business. Some of this analysis paralysis dey tiya me.As a business man, you look for more money with money. It is simple new os, new revenue, new PAT and new eps simple
Right issue means dilution. 44B os.May God help Gtb to generate more revenue in this 2024.if not, eps will reduce drastically and interim dividend may not take place as usual.Banks share prices will peak during these fund raising exercise, next is OYO.Dividend payments at the mercy of CBN.i see huge declines in 2024 financial end for banks but other battered sectors will be recuperating by year end..... 2 Likes |

There are rules and regulations that guides every aspect of the operations of the NGX......as contained in the 2015 Rule Book of the NGX.
However, there were amendments to some of the rules in January 2018. So, when going thru the Rulebook, also bear in mind that some amendments were made to some sections of the book.
In the case of Insider restrictions, kindly note that it applies to all listed Companies on NGX and in their closed period notifications, they always reference Rule 17:15 or 17.18 as the case may be. You may do well to check out Rule 17 of the Rulebook. I have been contemplating whether to reply him but thank God you did. For Ellah lakes, it still has one more year to go before we can begin to analyse it as a stock to buy. 2 Likes |
