it is difficult for some Nigerians to understand how a lady and a guy can be roommates without any intimacy. The truth is 'roommate' is often used as 'flat/apartment mate' and for those 'ignorant' ones thinking 'oh I wish I can have a female roommate when I get to the states ' if you try anything, you will be scarred for life and possibly spend life in jail. Try to understand why and how things work in a society other than yours before you draw conclusions. Some Americans may be thinking that all Nigerians are Mumu as Stella Oduah could still be in office after all the damning evidence against her (but we know that in Naija, things work differently and this doesn't necessarily make ALL Nigerians fools). |
@chidinma1/Nasdaq Correct info except you can apply for permanent residence after working for one year full time on the post graduation work permit you get after school. Please read Canadian Experience Class properly on cic.gc.ca NasdaQ: Hey! It is possible to extend ur visa as long as u hav an admission letter. If u r going in for a 1yr program, u might b given a 1yr work permit if u decide to work after concludin it which u will b expected to come back home when d period runs out. but if u run a 2 or 3yrs program, then they cld give u 3yrs work permit. So then u cld apply for permanent residence in ur fourth or fifth year. alot of nigerians extend their studies so as to get 3yrs work permit. So its possible to extend ur visa after every program, the longer u stay, the better in terms of work permit. |
Even though this is an equivocal 'apology', 'Nigerian Letter/Scams' is a very common term around the world and not only on Government sites. The truth is even I, a Nigerian have received countless of these emails and still receive them (if you play along for a while you will find out that there's a Nigerian link to most of them). Stereotype may be shallow but when you hear Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iran what comes to mind? If you weren't Nigerian or African what would think/perceive of Nigeria. Forget foreign press, let us judge ourselves. Sentiments aside, we are all Nigerians and love our dear country but truth is we should change our value system and stop idolizing people with ill gotten wealth maybe then we can 'rebrand' Nigeria. Ted Cruz's statement isn't any more prevaricative than calling inferior products 'Chinese' because there's some truth about it. There's still hope for Our dear Nigeria |
There's your answer. Close the thread
The reason is not far fetch. 1.3 billion Chinese, 150 million Nigerians including animals(legend have it that they get counted in the northern part of the country).
|
Even Skyler White waited until she had Holly. Some ladies should just remain single and have their lives the way they want it. |
It's really funny how we have a lot of tribalism amongst ourselves Nigerians. There's so much racism out here in the western world and some whites see the black race as inferior and altogether backward. We stay here and claim Yoruba is the best tribe, Igbos are this, Hausa's that and Ijaw's bla bla bla....truth is to the western world (however subtle, it is widespread) having the same color of skin makes us no different from each other so instead of coming here and claiming 'my tribe' is the 'saviour' of other Nigerian tribes, since we are so great, why not work towards showing the world you are a great people who can develop their tribe/country and turn it to a world class civilization like every part of the world outside Africa has done? I am black and originally Nigerian, I'm not tribalist or racist but a realist. |
Goal! 3-3 |

I loved playing Ghost Recon (based on his novel) on my Xbox console back in the days. |
'You need to update your statistics' Update here would mean, get the current number of Boko Haram related deaths. Is there any possibility of 3,000 dead people being updated downwards? (did Nigeria resurrect some of the dead?). I hope what he meant to say was 'Verify your statistics' unless he meant that Adeola was quoting an old figure of 3,000 which if updated to include current deaths would be above that figure. Which would leave those saying the guy is clueless having nothing else to prove. God bless Mr President (I can't curse him but he needs to wake up or take a nap elsewhere not Aso Rock) God bless Nigeria. |
My case, there was noting I wouldn't do for her. I wanted to actually marry her (she stalled me from telling her parents), there were so many red flags showing her involvement with other guys. Some of you may know the feeling of just wanting a loved one to tell you a lie so you have something to keep telling yourself until you actually believe it - well that happened quite often. So, I kiss my gf goodnight and 6hrs or so later i'm on a plane to the UK for a short vacation and when I get back, 'we aren't meant to be together' 'one of us may die' and some other silly excuses are the reasons she gives, I thought she just missed me. Fast forward some gifts,3months and enough pleading later, I still didn't get a tangible reason. As I type this, I can only narrow down her reasons to a list of possible 20 reasons. All because she still hasn't told me. We talk now, I can't hate her because I loved her so much at a point, I think i'll never stop caring about her but I am very rational, if she could do that to me, she could harm me as well. Now it's almost 2years and i'm over her but now i've become like guys who think that it's 'stupid' to love one girl. That's not the real me, the real me loves whole-heartedly and can trust, I don't believe in having more than a woman it's not about sex or 'conquering' all the ladies but it takes a lifetime to love a woman, that's how my heart is and that wouldn't change but Ladies........ some of you don't know when you have a good man. |
Does Sokoto state generate N610m quarterly? I mean independent of the 'national' cake |
See what i'm saying? Even when they are dared they just can't do better. hisswagness: Dis ur topic is nt relevant at all...using ow,hauz,n some oda shortend ways of spellin words does nt show stupidy in any way...I'd rada say u r part of d 'some nairalanders' u claim r doomed in stupidy...ur own na 4eva doomed |
It has become alarming, the rate of silly, totally off topic/key, unintelligent comments on Nairaland and it has got me wondering if people are just 'having fun' or we are actually seeing who they are by their posts. Some now use the guise of slangs to type things like 'aux' to represent house or 'ow' for how. I am not here to diss anyone, but I believe it is never late to learn, so i'd rather encourage folks to do what is right. If this bothers you like it does me, let me hear what you have to say. More examples will be exhibited in some of the comments below, just wait and see |
Bros Sarnia na dead town oh, just make sure you are sure before you go. Lambton is a good school though. ChriGo: ......wow so i guessed right....my cousin also wants to apply dia for nursing |

I suggest the MOD blocks this guy for racist comments or at least until he sobers up, he probably had something very strong.
Nah she ain't ma Girl, she isn't Black Enough I ain't Hating, Royal Loves Nigeria
|
I saw a projection of the rankings for Sept 12, it looks like the only change (in the order of the ten teams) will be Nigeria displacing Algeria from 3rd place, however this would not change anything modextus: The rankings would change Oo oga jarus. |
With this new qualification pattern, I see at least 2 African teams going past the round of 16 and probably 1 in the Semis. To answer your question, I would prefer Ethiopia or Cameron but I believe we will draw Senegal |
Naija needs to start thinking ahead. Burkina Faso is one of the teams we may face when the playoff fixtures are drawn on the 16th, Burkina Faso has more to gain from this friendly than Nigeria. Are super eagles aware of the current style of play of Senegal,Cameroon, Egypt and Ethiopia? |
Cameroon just scored, as it looks, they'll be the 10th and final team to qualify for the play-offs. lokzie: Fifa will seed the top 5 ranking teams from the Sept 12 2013 (Thursday) edition of it's FIFA Ranking and they would have a 1/5 chance of pairing with any of the lower ranking 5 teams. Here's the most recent ranking, if the rankings do not change, here's what the pots would look like |
@eameh30 Please quote your source because the FIFA world ranking from FIFA will be released on the 12th of September while the draw of the play-offs will be held on 16 September 2013 at the CAF headquarters in Cairo. http://www.fifa.com/worldranking/rankingtable/index.html |

Here's the most recent ranking, if the rankings do not change, here's what the pots would look like Pot 1 Ivory Coast (18) Ghana (24) Algeria (34) Nigeria (35) Cape Verde (36) Pot 2 Burkina Faso (48) Egypt (61) Cameroon (51) or Libya (69)- the match will be played today. Senegal (78) Ethiopia (102) so it could be any of Nigeria v Burkina Faso Nigeria v Egypt Nigeria v Cameroon or Nigeria v Libya Nigeria v Senegal Nigeria v Ethiopia |
Is anyone here going to be there tomorrow? I was downtown toronto yesterday and I saw a lot people taking photos on the red carpet (somewhere on King West) didn't realise our own Gennie was part of the whole thing. |
Firstrow sports, Google it Adonis4u: Please where can one watch the Saturday match online? |
Who then dissolved the cabinet? If this story is true, does the dissolution of cabinet and consequent new appointments stand? If you were offered $100b to insult the citizens of Taraba, could you come up with something worse than this? |
Just so the picture is clearer, flying from Calgary to Toronto takes about 3hrs 30 mins. By train it will take you 2days,10hrs and 22mins (No go slow oo)and to Ottawa will definitely take longer. CAD1,000 is approximately N160,000 and the distance is farther than twice that between any two points in Nigeria so when you pay all that money and probably sacrifice wages for being out of office, it isn't really a pleasant situation to be in seeing it's all for nothing. When I become Canadian, I will not burn my Nigerian passport but i'm not sure who would enjoy going through the process. How many people get their passports seamless even in Nigeria? We need to channel this energy to correcting the issues with Nigerian Embassies and Nigeria as a whole. I'd be going to the same embassy in November to renew my passport, I hope things will be positively different then. |
