Atiku group declares support for Jonathan’s presidency | Print | E-mail Written by Olatunde Sanni, Lagos Friday, 15 April 2011 The candidature of Jonathan/Sambo received a boost when a group of Atiku loyalists declared their support for the president ahead of tomorrow’s presidential election. The group, Atiku Progressive Forum (APF), with a numerical strength of over three million members across the country, said it decided to support Jonathan/Sambo candidacy ahead of other presidential candidates based on the achievements of the president in less than one year of his reign. According to the national chairman of the APF, Chief Joseph Onasanya, “we decided to support President Goodluck Jonathan in the upcoming presidential election because with the little time he has spent as president of Nigeria, he has delivered on his promises. Look at electricity and other infrastructural development across the nation, it shows that he really wants to deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians if given a chance.” Chief Onasanya stated that the group has been supporting former vice-president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, since October 2005, and it was in the interest of the country that the group decided to shift ground. “It is important to state here that the group has been independent and has never received funding from the former vice- president.” “ He is not funding the forum but he approved the use of his name,” he said https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?action=post;board=20.0 |
Omo_Tier1:You must have comprehension deficit to refer to that intelligent write-up as arrant nonsense. The neutrality of 9jaganja was obvious in that masterpiece. The major problem I have with you BB apologetics is your known intolerance for divergent views and I'm so sure you must have learnt that from your arrogant Buhari. |
He who pays the piper dictates the tune. Rotimi has displayed the arrogance Buhari is known for. You guys need to stop clutching at straws and deal with your impending defeat and shame. |
violent:guy i don laff sote i nak my head for table, U're one crazy dude, |
suxes2005:I must commend your bravery, when all these started I took pain to go through all your posts and I found out that you started drifting away around jan 2010 or thereabout but I realised that you've got potentials and u've being going about things the wrong way. No one is above making mistakes as we have all at one time or the other made mistakes. Failing to stand up after falling is worse than falling itself. I'll advise you to go back to the drawing board and re-strategise and I can assure you of resounding success. We all love you. Take care bro. |
DL 01 BDJ(VW BORA 2001). You have displayed an unprecedented level of humility. This goes to show that, if elected in future elections, there might not be a disconnect between you and your constituents. For this singular reason, I owe you my vote in 2015 and as much grassroot mobilisation as I'm capable of. Please ignore those nitwits spewing rubbish, some of them are disciples of retrogression and the others have sanity deficit. |

oyb:We the electorates have been equipped with the power to vote in any candidate that suits us and vote out anyone that misbehaves. This is the foundation upon which the New Nigeria will be built. Change is constant and people who benefit from the status quo would resist Change with all their might hence the violence which is minimal compared to 2003 and 2007. Lets give him the credit he deserves and lest I forget YES HE MADE GOOD HIS PROMISE. |

Friday, 08 April 2011 THE presidential campaign council of President Goodluck Jonathan, on Thursday, described the excuses given by the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Major-General Muhammmadu Buhari (retd), for the cancellation of the Lagos Metroline Project as scandalous and a slap on the face of the Lagos people. The campaign council, in a statement by its media department, said it was scandalous that Buhari had suddenly found voice to defend the inexplicable error, more than 30 years after he committed the crime. The council also said Buhari’s excuses amounted to contempt for the people of Lagos, who daily suffered the traffic gridlock on the roads. “After almost 30 years of silence, Major-General Buhari has finally found his voice and provided a specious political excuse for his disastrous cancellation of the Lagos metro line project. “While speaking with his political associates in Lagos, Buhari explained that the project was cancelled because his government did not want to take more loans or devalue the naira. “It is interesting that Buhari has found his voice now, when the presidential election is days away, after showing contempt and disdain for the people of Lagos and, indeed, Nigerians, by refusing to provide any explanation for the numerous acts of wickedness and high-handedness of the military dictatorship he led. “Sadly though, Major-General Buhari is all too economical with the facts. His spokesman, Mr Yinka Odumakin, told Saturday Punch a few weeks ago that Buhari knew nothing about the cancellation and that it was the late Gbolahan Mudashiru who unilaterally cancelled the contract. But today, Buhari has categorically repudiated Mr Odumakin’s poorly concocted lies. But was Buhari himself telling the whole truth? “We wish to state, however, that Buhari is just trying to score cheap political points and is being clever-by-half when he said the project was terminated because of financing issues. “Firstly, the project which was initiated by the administration of “Alhaji Lateef Jakande, was going on smoothly and on schedule before the coup-d’état by General Buhari. The project would, no doubt, have been completed on time if not for General Buhari’s coup and the transportation nightmare Lagosians face today would not have existed. “The visionary Jakande administration had concluded all the plans to finance the project, putting everything in place for its successful execution. The government had secured a $450 million loan at six per cent fixed interest rate for 25 years. As at the time the project was cancelled, the government had paid parts of the loan and, therefore, had no worry about financing the project,”the statement read. The council said the cancellation of the Lagos metro line project by Buhari was shortsighted and immoral, adding that the people of Lagos and, indeed, Nigeria would not be fooled by cheap political moves to win votes. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/20170-lagos-metro-line-jonathans-campaign-tackles-buhari |

Kobojunkie:See this persona non grata trying too hard to make sense U sound foolish the more. what if it was YarAdua that awarded the contract? It's being implemented in GEJ's tenure. Period. Fall off ur high horse and give the man some credit. ODEnsin. Kenny_G:Don't mind that St.u.pid Junkie, A psychoanalisis of her/it has shown she posts to stay relevant not minding if she/it 'd make sense or not. Too bad Sanity Test is not a requirement to register on NL. |
Kobojunkie:Your fingers are faster than your brain. Yes! Yaradua laid the foundation and now GEJ has built on it and the rail system is gradually becoming functional and u're here vomitting rubbish. Sometimes I wonder whether you've got tissue paper stuffed up ur brain. |
Kobojunkie:Kobojunkie, you goofed on this one stop running around in cycles you can't win all the arguments, You have clearly identified the problems as highlighted above, However Buhari doesn't know there's a problem in that sector. Stop trying fruiltlessly to defend him. He obviously has no vision for that sector nay Nigeria |

I'm presently in a country where getting a residence permit depends on being HIV negative and all HIV positive persons will be deported, after several weeks of thinking i eventually submitted myself for the test this tuesday and I was asked to come back for the result friday morning<this morning>. I was praying fervently throughout this waiting period asking for favour from God because I lived a very wayward life way back in naija b4 God arrested me. I went to the Hospital this morning and I thank God I'm negative. |
