Phenmeson: My biometric was Jan 22,collection date was March 20th,i went to the embassy more than times before I finally pick up my passport. Just make sure that if your passport is send to your address and no one is at home, sha run to nearest post office to pick up before they send it back to 9ja embassy. Few people are having difficulty because their passport was not picked up on time. Boss please can u specifically explain what you had to do at the embassy before you were able to get your passport. I am planning to go to the embassy for mine as well. Please feel free to dm |

Phenmeson: I was at the embassy today. Those people are something else. I waited over 4hrs. They said is at production stage that need to keep waiting until I received it. Other applicant of last year are still facing the same issue. Even to use ladies/gent they will not even allowed those coming to pick up their passport. They said only applicant allowed in the building are those for capturing or have an appointment. What's the issue with yours? From the tracker, i can see Mine as well as been in production for ages…on the tracker what status does your show? |

giselle237: ur NIN needs to bear the new name. Then when you are filling the passport form. Dont go straight to reissue or renewal because that’s not what it is even if your old passport is expired. Your case is a case of correction of error/ change of data(addition of names) Hey Giselle, I made this mistake.. i joined nairaland after i applied for the passport. I was gonna do a change of change but because my passport was applying soon, i did passport renewal. Infact even my NIN beared my old name.so even at the high commission i was sent back home to change my NIN first and the next day i came back to drop my application. My application form had my new name tho. All this happened in February. At the beginning of March i got an email from the NIN guys that the name change has been done. My concern is the image i attached. I wonder what my next course of action should be.

TheGreatGod: I will advice you to go there on Monday and make sure you get there early enough to see them. Take your confirmation slip with you with a copy of your previous booking appointment slip and beg the man outside to let you in so that you can sort it out.
In fact when I went for my biometric in the first week of this month, someone that I met told me that his friend that did his own in February got it in 2 weeks and I will just advice you to go there.
Please go there and let me have an update. I will be planning to go there as well at the end of this month of I didn’t receive mine. I am very sure your passport is ready just that they delay it, probably because the current one hasn’t expired yet.
Please when will the current one expiring? Ahaah chairman sorry I am not going anywhere on Monday. I am not moving an inch at least until after the date on my slip and at least one person shares their experience of going to the high commission for passport application follow up. The processes in the high commission is bery time consuming and unfortunately I don’t have that time to waste… i will to have an idea of what to expect or do from people here before going there. |

Phil46: Is it true that there aren't available appointment dates for all Schengen countries until September? I tried a few countries during the week and all saying no available dates now, try again later. Then I read on Schengen Visa Info that no dates for appts until Sept. I find that kinda hard to believe though as in how does the same backlogs situation apply to all 26 countries at the same time. I don’t believe it |

Hi guys, please I would like to get your opinions on a subject. From past experiences, is the bill generated from a smart metre cheaper than the bill generated when you send your metre reading to the electric company? So in other words which is better to do? Install smart metre or send metre readings monthly to the energy company? |

kwakudtraveller: Ancestors, I'm searching for a new house and we found one with Electric under floor heating, it's a nice house but we've never heard of electric floor heating, is this even safe and cost effective or e go just dey chop our money dey go? My dear brother/sister please I would advise to run away if you can. I rented a newly refurbished property with an underfloor electric heating in 2021. It was newly done so i was the first tenant. On moving in and staying for sometime we realised the flat doesn’t really get warm. An engineer came in to investigate and realised teh heating coils hasnt been done appropriately under the floor. This is the major con with underfloor heating, if there’s an issue its a lot of work to get it fixed. Now because of being unable to fix it the landlord bombarded our home with mobile heaters. This is where we suffered because it was all electric in the property. To cut the long story short, the money we spent on bills in the flat was enough to relocate a loved one from nigeria to the uk loool. Let me just state that my post does not negate the pros some other people mentioned. Its just that My family and I would never ever get an accommodation with electric heating. Also note some electric heating flats are also some times slightly cheaper in London because the agents know wats up Note also, i know a friend who uses gas underfloor heating. Its way better. I would go for gas underfloor it gets the house extremely warm. Its great |

Walexwal: Disregard your appointment time, go early. Also, try not to buy your postal order and return envelope at the HC. Buy at any post office. Go alone as they might not allow any other person to enter with you. Make sure your NIN details are the same as that of your expired passport. Take a book along to read.
Cheers! Ahh eshey gan sirr…please do u know if i need a print out the NIN slip I received or the number should suffice? |
