Lightp: My Lagos dashboard no longer shows *previously denied" and "regular appointment" it just takes me from the Visa payment page to the appointment page.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I have been checking and yet to see a new date in Lagos after been denied on 13th November.
In Abuja, I can only see March. I am experiencing this one. What did you do pls? Did you book on the regular still |

Friedpotato: Please if any previously denied person has been able to choose a date, please be kind to inform the rest of us I noticed that the previously refused which was 6months is now two months. Dates are filling fast so I picked a date on April, when dates comes for the previously refused, I will reschedule. I have been checking how dates are filling from January to April and the never bring back those months back. I told my brothers over there and they said it’s a smart choice. What do you think? |

Hollyholy: Hey guys.
I cried all night and still crying after being denied yesterday.
I totally tended up and blanked out.
Last night all my responses kept flowing in my head and sounded like I was muttering gibberish.
I feel so hopeless.
It was like someone else possessed my body as all I heard rehearsed flew out of my head.
I sent an email to my program director and her response brought more tears to my eyes.
She said she will keep the admission open all through next year, hoping I can join them.
I am afraid to book another date and go through another heartbreak.
I am hiding in my office toilet as I type still crying I feel so sad I understand this feeling well enough but I didn’t cry even though my interview was based on the VO subjectiveness. I replayed everything in my head till the next day. My family were all calling Nd texting I love you to me all day. They were my reason for getting out of that sadness. You will be fine and remember better data ahead. Better days ahead I mean. Please reach out to your family. Talk to someone. You will be fine in Jesus name. |

Cocao: To be honest, I can see a lot of desperate acts leading people to even more compounding problems. If you are looking for appointment dates, instead of moving from one location to another, just chill. Check the platform at night, join groups with people of like mind, keep your ear to the ground, watch and pray. Don't let your perceived urgency cause you to spend unnecessarily without even getting solutions. I know tempers are high and I understand, but just strategize and chill. You’re so right. But you can’t blame them either, a lot don’t want to defer but want this spring so they make hasten decisions. Good advice is breath in and calm down and strategize. |

robify01: Greetings dear gurus in the house!
I have a few questions about visiting the USA.
I have a friend in the US(married and a Nurse) who wish to invite me and my wife over (we have no kids yet). He wants us to come live & work in the US through INVITATION.
We've never met in person but got to know him through a friend I know from Childhood who now live in South Africa.
My questions:
In view of our circumstance, is it possible for both of us to be INVITED
What category of Visa will work for us?
Can we stay back in the US and apply for Study in the post grad program? Is there any legal option for staying back in the US?
Note: the goal is to get PR
Please help me explore all options available. This is a public space with a lot of people like VO’s who might be reading, are gurus suppose to encourage you by giving you options to become an illegal immigrants with invitations. No wonder visa denial is just flying up and down. Y’all make it so hard for us honestly and it’s not cool. |

Friedpotato: VISA DENIED Window 11
As I was going towards him, in order to speak better, I lowered my nose masks and he instructed me and other persons in the hall to raise it back up.p
Me: good morning V.O: good morning V.O: where are you going to? Me: I would be going to continue my undergraduate degree in biology V.O: who would be funding this? Me: I got a full ride presidential scholarship that would cover the entire cost of my tuition, feeding, accommodation, books, extra fees and a laptop. Also I was able to get 2 external scholarships this fall. $5000 for aidsmemorial and $2500 yearly scholarship from the United Negro College Fund. The rest of the costs would be taken care of by my uncle. V.O: Are you married? Me: No V.O: Do you have any kids? Me: No (laughs a bit) V.O: So why did you choose this school? Me: as I said I got a full ride scholarship, then when admitting me, EWC put me in their honors program. Which means that I get to pick a professor in my major that I can carry out summer research with, I would be given priority access to research and internships and I would be assigned an excelling senior in my major that would Integrate me into the Edward waters college community. V.O: I cannot issue you the visa at this moment, this letter would explain more.
I was so so surprised. Eish this seems like the same VO who interview me too last week with the camouflage nose masks. He even added why this school got you this time. Sorry about the delay. I think this guys are on denial spree. |

Looking forward to hearing from y’all

Lifeisforliving: Thank you. If that is the case I would tell the VO yes and that the office doesn’t grant a study leave and for that reason I am resigning in the meantime but planning to join back after my Program as I believe by then I would have added some specific that will definitely give me an edge in a taking up a higher position in my current work place . Ok my guess might be the VO asking how long you have been working with them? The longevity will matter here. Just my guess oooo but you’re reason is valid |

Lifeisforliving: Hey guys,
I need an answer to this question, if The VO ask if my office is aware of my study plan, how will my response affect their decision?
Will saying yes and that I have started documentation for my study leave process give me a plus or a minus?
Or can I say * NO*and that I am resigning? Will this lead to a refusal.
@fairheart @lagosismyhome and everyone your views will be highly appreciated Then ask for a study leave from your work place, my colleague was denied last year when he was asked if he was resigning and he said no, he had a study leave, the vo asked for it and because he didn’t have it, he was denied. Immediately he applied again and went for his interview, the new VO asked what changed and why he is here after been denied recently, he gave his reason, and he got his visa. Take everything that you feel will be a hindrance to get that visa please. Goodluck |

I am having a similar issue, i spent much of my hours monitoring the reschedule page for an earlier date but nothing positive yet... this is so draining... I call them today as well .. but there is no assurance that getting another MRV and requesting for Emergency that the appointment will be granted.... this so confusing and draining! It is truly frustrating but what can we do my dear other than to wait and if you login too much, they block you for three days. My interview transcripts hurts so I don’t want anything to disturb my peace abeg. Maybe we should open. WhatsApp group for those who are waiting for new dates, so when it drops all of us will know. Just a suggestion oooo. I almost got blocked because of too much login. |

I’m really very confused and worried now. I call the embassy everyday, and they say there’s nothing that can be done, I should just keep monitoring my page hoping they release early dates soon. I don’t just want to be hoping there and time is going.
Please guys advise me on what to do......Thanks. Just keep your options open for defer. It’s not a do or die affair, it hurts yes but when something is out of your control, what do you do? Ask yourself that. I am also checking when new dates drop as well. Weight all your options right now and don’t let this affect your state of mind. Better days ahead. |

BM2020: Hi @fairheart, I am a new user on here. My visa application was refused last week in Lagos. I have scheduled another for Abuja and the earliest date I got is in March 2021. I later noticed that the instruction for expediated appointment says you can't request for one if you have been rejected in the past 6 months. My program starts in January 2021 and I was hoping I would be able to use the expedited appointment. What do you advise I do in the circumstance? Do you think they may still grant me an expedited appointment regardless? I hope to hear from you.
Thank you Please when you get the emergency interview let us know. I have also picked March but no response on the emergency interview even though I told them not only about my school but how I was rejected with no proper questions asked about my school. I will still email my school to defer, just to be on the safe side still. I can only hope that I get a fair chance to tell and sell my self and my purpose of schooling next time because even on my DS160 when asked why I was refused, I told them how my interview went with just 4questions. |

NoTimeZone: I've been advised several times to schedule an appointment with the Abuja embassy, that the Lagos consulate is like a motor park flooded with passengers and not too many buses/drivers. If you can do Abuja and have the money to travel please do because the line in Lagos is much. My experience with the security check outside, they will ask your passport and documents, put a white stamp at the back and return it un-arrange. While I was trying to arrange he was like why is your documents scattered, I replied that lady give it back to me this way and I am trying to arrange it, he shouts who asked you that, immediately I told him don’t talk to me like that, you didn’t pay any documents I hold here. They are all so brass. I don’t know if it’s the crowd or they haven’t eaten. Then a VO denies me for absolutely nothing because he feels like it. The crowd was much in summary so if you can apply to Abuja without no hassle. Please do because I am seriously considering it. |

Youngstown: Yeah the vo on the left. The first guy to start interviewing was warm and welcoming asking all the typical qst and stuff. But the other guy which was next to him by his right was different. I was only asked 4 qst and was denied. Will share my transcript. Same here and he asked nothing relating to school just where re you going, sponsor, married, Kidd and have you travelled out of the country. Exactly just 4questions. Denied me because he felt like it and it hurts that we can’t question them on this nonsense. I don’t blame them, I blame my country because they feel we are animals here, he can’t do that in his country, deny a student visa based on his subjectiveness and power as VO. I have paid another visa application and did a new DS160. But no appointment in Lagos bad I am considering Abuja because just maybe because of the low rush the Abuja VO will take time and ask questions, Lagos has lime inside and outside with people waiting Nd security treating us like kids. Like someone said better days ahead. Hurts less now. |

sonofakin: Sorry about the delay. If your mind is willing, I think you should still shoot for spring if possible. The whole thing can be subjective really. There's a particular V.O that seemed to be harsh. His station is at the middle. It was my turn and I was praying that I will not have to go to him. The other V.O at the extreme end by the left looked friendly. I haven't seen him interview anyone but I saw the way he was relating with a Nigerian staff. When he beckoned to me to come, deep inside me, I knew I have gotten it. Honestly I saw the guy at the end and was admiring him and the way he was asking his questions and listening to students. Now I see the reason why people use loo as an excuse. Yea I was interviewed by the middle guy. I maintained eye contact, was not tensed even though this is my first attempt. I walked from the embassy to Stan field and didn’t know I was trekking I was just thinking like did I mistakenly fill married when I am not.it is well oooo. We move |

Guys I had a bad day today and I don’t think I deserve this. This guy was just dashing yellow and blue paper like give 5 yellow and 5blue and I fell on the 5. I didn’t deserve this delay and I hope my tens fit proves it.
Ms in business administration Scholarship of $7951
I was very confident and sharp. Maybe because after Nysc we looked for job tire till we got one. My transcript
Vo: Good morning Me: Good morning Vo: place your hand here pls and questions started Vo: where and you going and what do you want to study? Me: I want to obtain a master degree in business Administration at southern Illinois university Edwardsville. Vo: SIUE oh nice school.
Vo: who is sponsoring your school? Me: I was awarded a scholarship and the rest of the deficit will be taken care of by my Uncle.
Vo: Have you travelled before. Me(was shocked because I was expecting why did you choose this school) yes I have travelled to Dubai and France. Vo looks into the system Nd I smiled because he’s obviously checking my DS160 and I knew I filled it there.
Vo: Are you married? Me: (in my mind I am now shocked more because I was still expecting why this school and this look like the end of the interview) this time he was holding my passport and I was like wow I am getting this visa with this easy question. I replied No I am not married.
Vo: Do you have a kid? Me: No I don’t have one.
Vo: I am sorry I won’t be giving you the visa and he hands me. Blue paper.
I was dazed that what just happened? I didn’t move for a second, he had to repeat it again and I left feeling sad because I truly didn’t deserve to be handed this way with questions that was as easy as this and even with my scholarship and traveling history.
Well I have paid another visa at gtb but will defer so I can get over this disappointment. It is well |

Shuayb0: Hello everyone,
f-1 Visa denied on 6th November. The interview lasted less than 2 minutes. I was exhausted after standing in the queue for about 3 hours.
I was scheduled to interview at 9 am but I arrived about 2 hours earlier. I was a little nervous when I approached the VO. The VO that attended to me denied a guy in front of me.
VO: Please pass me your documents Me: Handed them over VO: Where are you going? Me: Lamar University Texas VO: What are you going to study? Me: Msc Management Information Systems VO: Why Lamar ( he was looking at his screen, didn't think he checked my i-20)? Me: On my mind, I was thinking what was asked was why the program, so I started talking about how I have been working on a project with LASG for spatial data analytics and at some point realized that I have exhausted my knowledge, hence the need to upskill. I failed to talk about the out of state tuition waiver and scholarship I was offered. VO: Who's sponsoring you? Me: My maternal uncle (another opportunity to talk about funding missed). VO: Have you traveled out of Nigeria before? Me: No VO: Are you married? VO: No Me: Do you have any children? VO: No VO: I'm sorry you are not qualified for this Visa at this time, this slip will explain the reasons ( he handed me a yellow slip that talks about proving home ties).
I know I didn't do justice to the question Why Lamar and the VO wasn't the patient type, didn't ask for SOA, I doubt that he checked my i-20 ( las las na me mess up).
I will appreciate your inputs. I'm still waiting to reapply before January 19 resumption date.
So sorry for your delayed visa. When next you are not sure of the question asked, please say pardon or asked the VO’s repeat the question, I would have if it was me. You were really nervous to forget to mention your funding which was the most important card you had. Nothing is wrong with your transcript, refine and go with confidence |
