Backfornow: Just let it be. I had misconceptions of what the thread was about. I saw ALL the other random American related questions and topics and thought it was safe. So I am thinking seriously of creating an American thread where anyone in America or coming can gather, network, seek assistance, and discuss any US related topic without fear of condemnation. I will temporarily derail the thread when I have done it unless one of the other US based people here want to initiate it first. Bro form the thread make I enter abeg |

uzhi: I currently live, study and work in Estonia. Follow your heart and be prayerful. My salary is enough to pay my tuition, rent feed and have savings. It isn't completely true that hourly rate in Estonia is 2 euros, some of us earn more than 4 euros per hour. About Estonia been boring, are you going there to throw party ? Although it's a quiet country. Most people use Estonia as a stepping stone to Germany, Norway, sweeden and Finland among other countries. To know more about life in Estonia, read a thread tagged lets talk about Estonia or search for uzhilove@gmail under travel and read all the comments there. Aitah! Bro what's up are you still in Estonia |

debosky: first of all. . . .where in Canada are you?
There are nasty Nigerians everywhere, just as there are nasty Canadians, Egyptians and the like - the key is to avoid the bad ones and roll with the good ones. I have had mostly good experiences with Nigerians in Canada, in four different cities from east to west. I guess you just need to take time and find those ones that would fit you best.
With regards to naija churches in Canada though, I have little experiences with that - I've been to RCCG in two cities and they seemed pretty down to earth to me, I don't know about which ones you are experiencing. Bro any idea on how I can come over to Canada the finance isn't the problem |
Travel › Re: I Have Gotten A Full Time Job In Canada. by lordally(m): 6:37pm On Aug 15, 2018 |
Obeledu: My journey to Canada started with two earlier threads I posted on Nairaland as can been seen on the following links.
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-570972.0.html
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-272024.0.html
I decided to join my family in Calgary and face the challenges on July 2011. Before finally relocating to Canada I had plan of gaining employment in
the Canadian oil industries as a rig technician. The reason being that it is easy to get and also the pay is very good so far you can endure working
in a hostile weather conditions.
When I landed, I went and registered with Calgary Catholic Immigration services (this is government sponsored trainer for entry level in the oil
industries). I was invited for both oral and written interview, and to my greatest surprise I was not selected. It was very painful as I had no plan B,
meanwhile the money I had with me was going down seriously because of large family (family of five).
After much thought I went to job agency, I must emphasise that agency job are readily available but the problem is they are mostly temporary jobs.
You can be lucky and get hired by the parent company after about three months. The jobs are mostly warehouse jobs with payment range of $14-
$20/hr payment. The agent was able to get a job for me in an electrical assembly plant the next day with a payment of $17.5/hr.
With this I was able to pay my bill and take care of my family. The job was more of physical than brain work, so I wasn’t comfortable with it. I
started submitting my resume to different telecommunication companies since that’s my major in Nigeria. I must say that I used Craigslist most of
the time and also looking up directly on the company websites. I started getting invitation for interview, after three series of interview I finally got an offer letter. I never applied for engineering positions. You cannot come from Nigeria and secure any engineering position without first undergoing
one year upgrade program. All my application was as telecommunication technician.
The problem most of us Nigerian especially easterners face here is the accent problem. The oyibo here don’t usually understand our English.
After staying few months here I must admit that Nigeria is very lovely place to stay. When I was in Nigeria there is no weekend that will pass without you having one occasion to attend. Those things make life more enjoyable, but you can never see those things here. Hello Bro!!! how is Canada |

franchasng: USA: currently under Trump, the chances are very slim unless you have enough ties back in Nigeria to guarantee the VO that you aren't using school to run away and never to come back.
Same with Canada...unless u were able to score above 7 in all four bands in IELTS or TOEFL.
Do you have enough financial backing in Nigeria to show for this
Lastly, is it masters or undergraduate study? Its Undergraduate I'm going for!!!! and as for the sponsor he is in USA .... and 3rdly , I tot Canada would have been leas harsh as USA |

Romance › Re: Where Do Girls Meet And Marry Guys Living In The US ? by lordally(m): 12:29pm On Aug 15, 2018 |
franchasng: Not true.
If you are talking about European countries, then yes u are right.
If u are living in Europe: Italy, Spain, Netherlands, France, Greece, Sweden, Hungary, Norway, UK, etc, etc without legal papers like RP, then it is better u stay back in Nigeria because the only job u can get are poo packing and maybe drug peddling at clubs.
But if u have permanent resident permit or citizenship which is rare, you are better of there than in Nigeria.
But for USA, whether as a legal resident or as an illegal resident, living in US is better than living in Nigeria unless u have a good job in Nigeria that pays u at least 200,000naira monthly as a single man or 250k monthly as a newly married man. If not, living in USA is better for any guy that's earning less than 200k monthly in Nigeria.
Same applies to Canada, Australia, South Korea, Japan, etc.
The only countries that are not that rosy are and I repeat:
1. UK 2. Spain 3. Italy 4. Sweden 5. Denmark 6. Belgium 7. France 8. Hungary 9. Greece 10. Netherlands 11. Turkey 12. Cyprus 13. Ukraine Etc, etc
These countries favor only legal residents with full resident permit, and mostly medical professionals like doctors and nurses and maybe engineers (mechanical engineers with good experience) Bro are you based outside 9ja ? |

cynthie140: I'm a young girl in Calabar. Everybody getting married these days mostly marry guys from outside the country. biko where do they meet them? Now let me answer this question with my own little experience... I graduated in 2016 bit i had an extra year so I officially finished 2017 and I'm still yet to serve!!! but plans are under way for me to travel abroad ...the finance is not the problem ....now in all my extra year issues I met a Girl that has been there for me all these while!!!! she encourages me when I'm down ...and she came into my life even before the plans of me going abroad ...so do you expect me yo forget her when I travel out ?? no way!!! and aside that ....my GF is close to Graduating, and she's from a respected family with Good background ...and she's very respectful ......so for me, its not all about looking at men based outside!!! look for a man/guy that has a plan for the future ....a man that has a Goal!!!! trust me LADIES HAVE THIS EYES AND FORESIGHT of being able to see the future of a guy!!! just that due to stupidity , greed and present gain, most ladies have refused to activate them!!! yes I've not decided on the country to move to yet but the cash is there and the only hindrance is if I'm being denied a visa( I don't wanna mention the name of the country doe!!!) so you see!!!! by Gods grace my GF already has a Yankee based future husband which is me!!!! |
