joseph1832:Another person who understands what I'm saying. Very sensitive ministries that directly affect the live of every Nigerian and needs independent attention. |
PassingShot:Nobody is looking down on Fashola. Power alone is enough for him to win the people's heart the more if he can successfully fix all the mess we have been witnessing. You say LAgos state? Did he fix power issue in 3000 square kilometres Lagos with just around 20m people? Power isn't like aviation or agriculture that affects just a percentage of the country, he will be dealing with 170m people and that is enough already, but why adding another burden? |
Empredboy:You can merge ministry of Works and Housing with anything but not Power. Unless you guys have decided to downplay the dire condition of the Power Sector which needs and independent attention and reconstruction. |
Stop being deceitful, OP. He's a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and not Abia State. |
That would mean no minister from Katsina state. |
Tycoflu:Man, I bet no body has sounded as frustrated as you in the world today. Keep on cursing around as you think you're the only one who can curse. I no blame you, perhaps, you haven't sold enough garden egg today. |
mazeltov:I agree with you to an extent, but the bolded isn't an appropriate example. power should be an independent ministry in Nigeria until we witness a quantum leap in the sector. |
kokoA:I wasn't expecting you to easily comprehend what I meant. I mean say the merged ministries dey too much for one man, e go slow the process of change and we fit remain like this after Buhari leaves. |
dongodfrey:There is no big deal with clamouring for Fashola to get either of those offices, but handling both of them, surely, will have a lot of distractions which can directly slow down the change needed in those ministries. Please, No hard feelings for Fashola. |
With the history of poor, erratic and unsteady power supply associated with past governments, even Maitama residents would be anticipating the APC trademark 'Change' to sweep across the ministry of power and somehow or anyhow solve the problem of nonexistent power supply in most parts of the country. Alas, Buhari, today decided to name former Lagos State governor, Mr Raji Babatunde Fashola as the minister of merged former Ministries of Power, Works and Housing. From a progressive perspective every sensible Nigerian would agree that this is a very big mistake from our president. The ministry of Work and Housing alone is a deserving ministry for a person of Fashola's calibre and administrative prowess to pilot, likewise Power. Heading the Ministry of Works and Housing in Nigeria is very cumbersome and almost equivalent to the numerous tasks he faced as the Governor of Lagos State were he had commissioners who were accountable to him, let alone Power being added to this workload of a Portfolio. I'm tempted to ask, did Buhari seek advice and make proper consultation before handing these merged portfolio to Mr Fashola? If he did, what were his findings? Which people supported his merging of these ministries?(they should be named so we can know those who indirectly oppose our progress) In a nutshell, it was unexpected, unprogressive, nonsensical and most especially, unacceptable merging of this work laden ministries and handing it over to one man considering the immediate change Nigerians are expecting in the power sector. Buhari should separate this ministries and make Mr Fashola a minister to one of them. It would be inevitable hearing APC faithfuls say, "after all it is merged ministry, and as such presents a herculean task to the government in bringing a reasonable level of change to what we had in the previous administrations who are responsible for the majority of ruins in the ministries. WE DO NOT WANT EXCUSES! |
vicoloni:Our concern should be on the prices of materials directly related to his ministry. I'm afraid the prices of Building materials, building and electricity might skyrocket |
mekaboy:Booohari na the Break and Quench driver, Amaechi na im vocal conductor. Nothing go happen. |
Beremx:Of course, it's well deserved! He really proved beyond reasonable doubts to Booohari that he would make a good Berger/Wuse conductor. Make una just release those El Rufai buses along Kubwa make em choose him partner. |
mekaboy:What were you expecting him to get? Finance or Petroleum? Amaechi has no enticing University degree, Transportation is among the least complicated portfolios in our ministries. When he was shouting on top his voice against GEJ he didn't know Booohari was admiring his Aba Road by Rumukurisi conductor skills. |
Fashola- Power, Housing and Works..(hope the cost of building, building materials and NEPA bill don't automatically sky rocket) Amaechi- Transportation(Amaechi given another chance to complete his ghost mono rail project in Port Harcourt) Ogbonnaya Onu- Science and Technology Au du Ogbe- Agriculture Ibe Kachiukwu- Petroleum state Uguru- Niger Delta Adamu Adamu- Education |
naijapips02: EUROBOMBER:Ndi iberibe abuo. |
lanrehamd:That's not the answer to the question, you're just being deceitful. Democracy is right to everything legal, but we all know that most of the provisions of the Nigeria constitution are direct opposite of democracy except fundamental human rights. |
agarawu23: RichDad1: tobimillar: prince4pro: menix:These shows that most people have lost interest and hope in Nigeria, even with 'sinless' Buhari. But I wonder why it's a crime to dissolve the entity ![]() |
If rain beat that car e go add weight. |
Ballmer:Look at how you're drawing examples from America to justify injustice. The same America that you term anyone who dares support them slave and having slave mentality. Moreover, we talking about ethnic groups here and not Races so I don't know what Indians and African Americans are doing here. America is migrant nation. |
Ballmer:You're mischievous! When I said a different country is better than Nigeria I didn't mean only Igbos, other ethnic groups that feels marginalised are better off in a country of their own than seeking to produce a Nigeria president. Democracy is a rule of the majority of course, but with the interest of the minority. Have Nigerians done anything satisfactory on the interest of those minorities their lands are being degraded? Your Texas and Alaska example are utterly distorted and in apt. Is Nigeria a true federal state? Texas and Alaska controls more than 65% of their resources Unlike Nigeria where states producing crude oil have no say after receiving just a paltry 13% derivation. Texas is responsible for what happens in Texas, their is little federal parasitic installations. Your comparison of USA, a migrant nation with Nigeria says a lot about your intelligence, nobody is being considered a minority in America politically, unlike Nigeria, any state can can produce a president. #nominoritystate If the argument is foolish to you that means it's either you understood it in a foolish way or you lack common sense. And please, don't quote me to display more of your unbridled ignorance. |
Ballmer: |
pazienza:Man, the guy is a big surprise these days. |
EUROBOMBER:Do not tell me that shít, even though I knew you're going to say it! Someone can't be responsible for almost 50% of your progress and you deny him his right just because you chose to call him minority. It's an ignominious hypocrisy and a case of of unaddressed injustice and suppression that a minority is feeding a majority who has chosen to die rather than let that minority, for once, lead the majority they're feeding. That shít you typed there, you shouldn't let sensible people read it if you still want your dignity preserved. Let me assume you're married, as a man, you're supposed to be the breadwinner and you've been discharging your duties diligently, how would you feel when people say your wife or your children are the head of your family? |
EUROBOMBER:This is where I do not agree with a whole lot of Igbos. Igbos are not being marginalised! We're just affected by the political incorrectness hindering the colossal injustice called Nigeria. If you wail in this extent what do you expect those from Delta, Akwa Ibom and Rivers states to do for not having produced a president since 1960 despite producing about 45% of the country's main resources? How will the Igbos producing a president benefit them? The other regions that have being producing presidents, how did the presidents impact them positively? You want us to produce a president we can't hold accountable cos he's impunity and being shielded by the Nigerian Constitution? Have a rethink my friend, a country of own where we can choose to canonise an underperforming official or stone him out of office is a trillion times better than a 9 consecutive times Nigeria presidents of the Igbo extraction each serving their second terms. |
Truckpusher:On the main page of this thread you said you're never moved by these people quoting you, yet you've replied nearly all your mentions without shame and even going tribal by displaying your bigotry. Evidence of the staunch tout you are making manifest despite how hard you tried to suppress it? ![]() I can't believe this was the person I responded to. Chai, only if I had known you were like this! Seriously, I thought this guy was a mischievous fellow with just little dignity cos of the fact he's human. Was thinking this one was different from those brainless dolts that come here to just rain abuses without shame. |
EternalTruths:Perhaps, the guy is preoccupied with his truck pushing occupation that he forgot to answer the simple question I asked him. Seriously, I don't have a problem with him and his fellow deluded riff-raff. But my problem is them coming online to openly massage their nonexistent ego while trying to ridicule Igbos. Notice how he avoided my question about who plays a holistic politics in Nigeria? Igbos play ethnic politics, and to some dimwits he already made a mockery of a whole ethnic group with his deceitful comment. |
EternalTruths:You're not far from the truth despite how unpleasantly you presented it. The predicaments of the inhabitants of the Middle Belt of Nigeria is a clear example and and a case study for those yet to understand the 'colossal injustice' called Nigeria. It's quite obvious, except to those bereft of common sense, that the Igbos provide, to an extent a kind of shield to some Southern minorities. Still baffles me how some folks from those minority ethnic groups openly display their uncouth irrelevant self when addressing issues that affect the Igbos. |
Truckpusher:Stop making people think you're really empty, please. What is predictable about my response to your distorted piece of sophistry fallacy? Were you expecting me to keep quiet and watch you try to ridicule the Igbos so you can go on another thread and childishly boast of how you single handedly silenced them on this thread? Not on this thread, buddy! Of course everybody is mad except Truckpusher the leader of Resource Control Movement. Delusion! |
Truckpusher:Who doesn't play ethnic politics in Nigeria? Is it Tinubu, Buhari, or even GEJ? Which group of people in Niger plays holistic politics? Man, calling Biafra agitators names is different thing, but claiming to be more civilised and sensible than them is a case of over bloated ego. Your resource control rants end here on Nairaland yet you have the guts to berate and deride those courageously making their voice heard as relating to their wants. Where have we ever seen a Picture of Truckpusher discussing the importance of resource control with a senator or even a house member? You, my friend, are delusional for thinking that your sophistication stretches to heaven. You didn't tell anybody any truth! I don't know why people like you are easily carried away with the number of likes you get on Nairaland thinking you've made more sense than King Solomon ever did. Those chasing you around Nairaland have the same problem with you, gigantic delusion. |
G8Arthur:Use your GOTV antenna for ordinary NTA. |
