I applied for a passport renewal and a Change of Data request (my first and middle names were mixed up) early last month. I selected the Alausa office as my processing center, but my application has still not been approved.

I heard that in some cases it can take several months, or even close to a year, for approval.

Please what can I do to fast track this thing

Did you upload all the required documents yet? because that is what the officer will vet with your application.
If yes, send an email to nis.servicom@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng quoting your application and reference number and then explaining the situation or you can contact their helpline number +234-912-1477-092.
OR
Go to the processing office (Alausa) to get it approved and you can do your biometric capturing same day after the application has been vetted

Currently at alausa for capturing, if you did yours online you'll get directed to where they will charge you 5k for "compliance".

On the document below it was specified the grading system has to be sent to uni assist. That means I need to contact my school to send my transcript and grading system to uni assist? Danke! uni assist did not say anything about certification of documents. Google too Dey lie

You need to contact your school to send the transcript directly to uni-assist, the grading system is usually in the transcript. With the information, uni-assist can convert your grade to the german grading system, which is different from ours. This german grade is what uni-assist will send to the schools you have chosen in your application.
For CV, there is no basic requirements or format. you can use Europass to create one, just google europass.

One last question! Do I have to certify my documents before application? And if yes where can I certify it ? Is high court certification accepted ?

You can also check www.uni-assist.de for the requirement for Nigerians, you will definitely apply to German university through uni-assist. What i know at the top of my head is that your transcript has to be sent directly to uni-assist by your school.

Good morning everyone pls I really need everyones input,I thought I won’t have to renew till July so my previous plan was to start paying salary into the previous account I used from this month and with that,I planned to apply with an account balance of maybe 7m.The problem now is that I have to be in London in 2weeks but the account I can use now is the one with a closing balance of close to 45m.My salary has been paid into this account since January.Can I go ahead with the account since the 40m deposit was made last year and I will only use statement from January till now.What reasonable explanation can I give for the closing balance for someone that earns 500k n spends 180k every month?Apart from the closing balance,the account has been clean ,the only deposits I’ve had is my monthly salary and a deposit of 150k in march.

This depends strictly on how you have used the previous 3 visas.
How many times did you travel on each visa?
How long have you been spending in the UK and does the duration corresponds with what you filled in the form? at least we can give allowance of +/- 3-5 days, if it is still within your vacation period you stated in the form and corresponds with what your employer stated in the letter
What is the closing balance of your bank statement for your last application and would you have saved that much between your last and present application?
Lastly, is it possible to get a letter of deed from your uncle indicating that he gifted you that sum of money?
based on your previous 3 visas, you have a good shot at getting another one. but if you are unsure, i will advise that you apply for a 6 months visa.

I hold a Bsc in industrial chemistry and I intend to do my masters in Germany. However I have not written any language proficiency exam like IELTS. For now I only have medium of instruction from my school registrar and hope to apply with that. My search for schools that accept MOI for a master in chemistry related course has not yeild good result just one school so far. I will appreciate anyone that knows some schools specifically that accept MOI. Nevertheless! If it’s compulsory I write any of the English language proficiency exam I shall begin my preparation

www.daad.de is your friend. filter for English speaking MSc courses in chemistry and related field. Mail the international offices of the schools that pop up from your search about your situation. you will definitely get responses

Hi guys, I’m currently in Warri and I want to confirm if appointment for capturing is in asaba because I keep getting that without any office in Warri for capturing , is that how it’s suppose to be?

If only I got an answer to this, I wouldn't have wasted transport and my time.
First of all, the immigration office I know is in Asaba - Onitsha expressway and I went there but was told by drivers that there's no office there.
I was directed to Asaba - Ibusa expressway.
Newbies please note if your center address is in Asaba, the address is Asaba - Ibusa Expressway ( don't be confused).
So when I got there, I was ask who brought me which I replied no one , I'm DIY.
There were saying so I'm among those that want to stress them. I was taken to a office and was told to pay more for fast tracking which I told them I wouldn't be able to afford.
They collected my documents and I was told to wait outside. Waited till almost everyone has gone, one of the officers ask for my name and started looking for my file. Later I was called into the office and was told that I'm at the wrong center.

The document showed Warri:Command Hqters, Ogwashiku Rd. Asaba

I argued that the document was showing Asaba but they brought someone's document to show me the difference.

My Center address is Warri and the Delta State immigration center is Asaba.

So If yours shows Asaba:Command Hqters, Ogwashiku Rd. Asaba , then your center is Asaba and if yours shows Warri:Command Hqters, Ogwashiku Rd. Asaba,, then your center is Warri.

Note the difference.

Also that address is supposed to be Asaba - Ibusa Expressway not Ogwashiku Rd, Asaba.

Mhennn I'm very angry right now.

Could someone please clarify this for me? For those who applied for a work permit visa with an employment contract, and due to the waiting period, the scheduled arrival date has passed, will the embassy request an updated work contract from your potential employer, or will they still accept the work contract used during the application process, knowing that the delay was caused by waiting for appointments, which led to the passing of the resumption date?

Updated work contract will likely be requested, so be in touch with your prospective employer for a new one or an official letter stating that you can still resume work anytime your visa is issued.

Why not use provist germany from Dr Walter GmbH, then use SEPA has payment method. when your husband arrives in Germany, then you cancel the contract and enroll to your own public health insurance as a family

Please the hotel I booked for my wife and children,is treatment to cancel the hotel, saying its no longer available,meanwhile I have submitted and pay visa fees on the application form,I have also uploaded all the documents and books appointment.


My question is can I get another hotel and go to computer center to edit the application form with new hotel address?

I hope it will not cause red flags?

Or cancel the entire application is way out, please what can we do?

Fill a new application form and input the details of the new hotel booking. Then at their biometric appointment, opt for assisted service and they will help them upload the new form on their profile and remove the old one. You can not edit the form because they have it stored in their system already and they will only need to scan a barcode to get all the information you have filled in the form.
Note that you will pay additional fee for the assisted service, if you don't want to pay, the next best thing is to withdraw the application and reapply.

What if one doesn’t have an ID of the declarant that has a signature on it. Would it waived or would you be asked to send any other means of identification for the declarant?

I submitted the affidavit of spinsterhood and I didn’t submit a mean of identification for the declarant because the ones I have does not have signatures (voters card and Nin of my mum)
Would I be asked to submit it like that or how does this work?

Has anyone experienced this before. What do I do at this point?

Did the embassy collect the affidavit from you without the copy of the ID Card?
Were you asked during your interview why you did not attach a copy of the ID card?
Were you told to submit a new one with ID card attached ?
If not, in my opinion i think you are good. if they need anything from you, you will be rightly informed.

Pls I studied agriculture for my first degree but I was as on able to get admission into public universities,but now I want to apply for a course in a private university because that is the only option for me write now ,but the issue is that no private universities in Germany has agricultural related courses ,I want to no if I can apply for data analytics and it will not affect my visa

Have you tried Rhine Waal University of applied science? there is agribusiness and sustainable agriculture. there are so many course relating to agric in germany. check Uni göttingen too or go through daad website and filter your options to agriculture

Monthly income: ₦400,000
Monthly expenses (as declared): approximately ₦60,000 (covering groceries, transport, utilities, and household needs). supported by her bank statement
Total trip cost declared: £890
Personal contribution: £490
Son’s contribution (mine): £400
At the time of application, her closing bank balance was ₦3,483,619.56, with an opening balance of ₦2,447,798.86 and regular monthly salary credits shown on the statement (3-month bank statement provided). These figures were explained in a separate financial explanation letter submitted with the application
For me, I provided my Barclays 1-month statement, thats is the most you can provide from the Barclays statement document with a balance of approx 6k pounds and three months' payslip with an average take-home of approx £4k
Happy to clarify further if helpful, as I don't want to get entangled in a rejection loop.

From what I can see, her personal contribution toward the trip may be higher than 2.5 times her disposable income when calculated using the OANDA exchange rate that visa officers typically rely on. You might want to consider slightly reducing her stated contribution in the application and increasing your own contribution, if possible.
Overall, the rest of the financial details look quite good. Going forward, it would simply be helpful to continue keeping the bank account in good order for any future application.

Please provide the financial details that were entered on the application form, as this will help to clarify the situation. So far, only her income and total savings have been mentioned. If you could also answer the following questions, it would allow others to give more informed input:

What amount was stated on the form as her monthly expenses? This is needed to calculate her disposable income.

What amount was stated as the total cost of the trip? This will help determine whether the expenses exceed 2.5 times her disposable income.

You should have her death certificate, submit it with your application and include the incident in your cover note

But this is contradictory. Why did she say she has not worked in any of the above organization? or was there a list of jobs on the form for this particular question?
If she has no previous work experience aside the ones listed, she should have filled not applicable there .
Aside this, there are other discrepancies with the financial statement as regards the income and expenses that was filled on the form. You need to work on that

The latest application date to get appointment as released by the embassy last Friday is February 20th, 2024.
